People acknowledge innovation as a critical and central factor in increasing economic output and productivity. The phrase disruptive innovation was first familiarized in 1995 and has evolved into a new phenomenon. It exemplifies how a new entrant in a field can eventually compete with the incumbent. Furthermore, many of them may replace them. The study strives to identify the critical factors underlying disruptive innovations. This study employs a systematic literature review strategy and PRISMA meta-analysis. It refers to various reputable data sources from 2013 to 2022. The study included 5,305 articles, analyzed 183 articles that encountered the criteria, and employed 45 appropriate articles. As a result, it encounters six critical factors to disruptive innovation: demand, technology readiness, regulation, labor, external technology, and capital. The proposed formula encapsulates a Success Score for assessing disruptive innovations, integrating various essential factors contributing to success.

Indoor positioning systems (IPS) are critical for enabling accurate navigation, asset tracking, and emergency response in indoor environments where GPS fails. This study evaluates five machine learning algorithms-K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Decision Tree, and Random Forest-using two benchmark datasets, UJIIndoorLoc and UTSIndoorLoc. The results reveal that SVM achieves the highest accuracy, with 81.3 % on UJIIndoorLoc and 92 % on UTSIndoorLoc, followed by MLP with $\mathbf{7 8. 8 \%}$ and 90.9 %, respectively. Random Forest provides stable performance, with 77.6 % and 86.08 %, while KNN reaches 75 % and 89.7 %, performing well in structured environments. Decision Tree shows the lowest accuracy, 71.2 % and 76.54 %, highlighting its limitations with complex data. The UTSIndoorLoc dataset consistently yields higher accuracies, demonstrating its structured signal distribution. These findings underscore SVM and MLP as optimal algorithms for Wi-Fi fingerprinting IPS, offering robust and scalable solutions for indoor localization.

The human brain can effortlessly imagine a 3D image from only 2D images with a little expertise and imagination, but for machines, this is not a trivial task. Because of this, reconstructing 3D images from 2D ones is a hot topic and has many applications. In this paper, we propose a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN)-based approach that generates CT-like images using pairs of orthogonal X-ray projections taken from different angles. In this work, a variety of orthogonal pairs from different angles, ranging from 0 &90 to 60 &150, were considered as input to the 3D image generation model. The effectiveness of the proposed method was assessed by measuring the Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) and Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), which resulted in values of 0.641 and 29.21, respectively. Furthermore, the model's ability to capture the respiratory motion in the input projections and reflect it in the generated images was also assessed. This work demonstrated the feasibility of generating CT-like images from X-ray projections captured from different orthogonal angles taking into consideration the respiratory motion exhibited in these projections. © 2023 IEEE.

Depressive Disorders (DD) is one of the most prevalent mental disorders in the world that may lead to suicide cases. To prevent the latter, ubiquitous early detection systems may be effective. Recent studies have since researched the development of such systems by exploiting several forms of data, including video, audio, Ecological Momentary Assessments (EMA), and passive sensing data using sensors embedded in mobile devices. To summarize the trends, opportunities, and existing challenges in this field, this study reviewed 15 papers to answer four research questions. EMA was the most popular data to be used in this task, but other approaches, such as using video, audio, and typing behaviors, may be considered due to the subjectivity of EMA. These data were typically recorded using smartphones and analyzed using Machine Learning (ML). However, most of the developed systems had yet to be implemented. Overall, it was concluded that further studies may need to explore usages of more objective data in multimodal approaches as well as consider using Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) to deploy these systems to provide more effective and efficient diagnoses. Future studies must also take into account the existing challenges of the data and infrastructures, such as the weaknesses of several data types, limitations of mobile devices, as well as the challenges of diagnosis approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

Offensive Language Detection Using Soft Voting Ensemble Model

Offensive language is one of the problems that have become increasingly severe along with the rise of the internet and social media usage. This language can be used to attack a person or specific groups. Automatic moderation, such as the usage of machine learning, can help detect and filter this particular language for someone who needs it. This study focuses on improving the performance of the soft voting classifier to detect offensive language by experimenting with the combinations of the soft voting estimators. The model was applied to a Twitter dataset that was augmented using several augmentation techniques. The features were extracted using Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency, sentiment analysis, and GloVe embedding. In this study, there were two types of soft voting models: machine learning-based, with the estimators of Random Forest, Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, Naïve Bayes, and AdaBoost as the best combination, and deep learning-based, with the best estimator combination of Convolutional Neural Network, Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory, and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit. The results of this study show that the soft voting classifier was better in performance compared to classic machine learning and deep learning models on both original and augmented datasets. © 2023, Brno University of Technology. With the development of technology and computing applications, communication among people become easy. Nowadays different platforms are accessible for expressing news, knowledge, and multiple emotions such as happiness, sadness, disappointment, thoughts, opinions. In the current digital world, emoticons play a vital role in computer-based communication. This study examined the usage of emoticons and the slight shift of words to emoticons in computer-mediated communication. The research also investigates how people understand the emoticon, and used them for clearing their meanings. The study investigates participants’ views and interpretations of emoticons by utilising a mixed-methods technique that combines surveys and qualitative analysis of communication data. It investigates emoticons’ cultural relevance and communication potency while taking into account variables like age, gender, and social environment that affect emoticon usage. The main focus of the study is to identify the demand for emoticons from a cultural perspective. The findings have consequences for people, academics, and practitioners, highlighting how crucial it is to take cultural considerations into account when creating communication platforms and comprehending how visual symbols affect message perception. Social media growth was fast because many people used it to express their feelings, share information, and interact with others. With the growth of social media, many researchers are interested in using social media data to conduct research about personality identification. The identification result can be used as a parameter to screen candidate attitudes in the company's recruitment process. Some approaches were used for research about personality;one of the most popular is the Big Five Personality Model. In this research, an ensemble model between BERT and RoBERTa was introduced for personality prediction from the Twitter and Youtube datasets. The data augmentation method also introduces to handling the imbalance class for each dataset. Pre-trained model BERT and RoBERTa was used as the feature extraction method and modeling process. To predict each trait in the Big Five Personality, the voting ensemble from BERT and RoBERTa achieved an average f1 score 0,730 for Twitter dataset and 0,741 for Youtube dataset. Using the proposed model, we conclude that data augmentation can increase average performance compared to the model without data augmentation process. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. The spin Seebeck effect (SSE) is sensitive to thermally driven magnetic excitations in magnetic insulators. Vanadium dioxide in its insulating low-temperature phase is expected to lack magnetic degrees of freedom, as vanadium atoms are thought to form singlets upon dimerization of the vanadium chains. Instead, we find a paramagnetic SSE response in VO2 films that grows as the temperature decreases below 50 K. The field and temperature-dependent SSE voltage is qualitatively consistent with a general model of paramagnetic SSE response and inconsistent with triplet spin transport. Quantitative estimates find a spin Seebeck coefficient comparable in magnitude to that observed in strongly magnetic materials. The microscopic nature of the magnetic excitations in VO2 requires further examination.

Speed Bump Detection Through Inertial Sensors and Deep Learning in a Multi-contextual Analysis

Speed bumps are vertical raisings of the road pavement used to force drivers to slow down to ensure greater safety in traffic. However, these obstacles have disadvantages in terms of efficiency and safety, where the presence of speed bumps can affect travel time and fuel consumption, cause traffic jams, delay emergency vehicles, and cause vehicle damage or accidents when not properly signaled. Due to these factors, the availability of geolocation information for these obstacles can benefit several applications in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles, allowing to trace more efficient routes or alert the driver of the presence of the obstacle ahead. Speed bump detection applications described in the literature employ cameras or inertial sensors, represented by accelerometers and gyroscopes. While camera-based solutions are mature with evaluation in different contextual conditions, those based on inertial sensors do not offer multi-contextual analyses, being mostly simple applications of proof of concept, not applicable in real-world scenarios. For this reason, in this work, we propose the development of a reliable speed bump detection model based on inertial sensors, capable of operating reliably in contextual variations: different vehicles, driving styles, and environments in which vehicles can travel to. For the model development and validation, we collect nine datasets with contextual variations, using three different vehicles, with three different drivers, in three different environments, in which there are three different surface types, in addition to variations in conservation state and the presence of obstacles and anomalies. The speed bumps are present in two different pavement types, asphalt and cobblestone. The development of technology and the internet is one of the critical factors that must be considered by companies especially those engaged in e-commerce. The web-based application is one of the tools used by e-commerce in making it easier for users to conduct transactions and data processing. The application that developed must be calculated carefully so the effectiveness and efficiency can be appropriately maintained. In this research, the calculation of the size of the software, effort, time, staff, and the total cost needed to work on an application was calculated using the Function Point Analysis (FPA) and Constructive Cost Model II (CoCoMo II) methods. The application that has been analyzed and estimated is Merchant Application Portal (MAP) which is an application designed by one of the companies in Indonesia. The estimation results obtained, scilicet the size of software amounted to 10,02972 KLOC, effort amounted to 48.521 Person Month, time development of 13 months, staff needed as many as four staff, and the estimated cost amounted to IDR 13,828,852.79 or $ 971.54. In addition, this calculation can be used by other companies to find out the resources needed in making a software to be more effective and efficient. © 2021 ACM.
