This study examines the influence of conductors on the stability of transmission tower-line systems under wind loading. Numerical simulations utilizing finite element methods were conducted to evaluate and compare the aeroelastic behavior and structural response of isolated transmission towers versus tower-line systems under wind loads. Additionally, aeroelastic model wind tunnel tests were performed on the tower-line system to validate the simulation outcomes. Results indicate that conductors enhance aerodynamic damping within the tower-line system, leading to a reduced dynamic response relative to a standalone tower. Acceleration response increases with height, displaying abrupt localized changes associated with mass increases near the cross-arms. Furthermore, nonlinear dynamic stability analysis was conducted using the Budiansky-Roth criterion, focusing on the critical wind speed for instability and lateral displacement ratio at the tower top. The findings underscore the role of conductors in influencing system stability under dynamic loading, providing valuable insights for enhancing the wind resistance design of transmission towers.

A highly reliable wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network architecture for the fifth generation(5 G) applications is designed by combining a tree topology with a dual-fiber ring. While the tree topology ensures the transmission quality of the network, the dual-fiber ring topology allows one to achieve flexible switching between the nodes, which aims to provide fault protection and network reliability. The signal transmission under the normal and three types of protection modes are analyzed. The performance analysis verifies the feasibility of the proposed architecture.

Path automatic handover for concurrent multipath transfer

With the rapid development of multipath equipments, Concurrent Multipath Transfer (CMT) has become an promising technology of the Next Generation Networks (NGN). Meanwhile, diversity about the performance of multipath data transmission can bring in challenges to the development of CMT. For instance, the receiving buifer blocking that caused by out-of-order delivery of data packets. Adaptive filtering algorithm is used for prediction of path performance, including time delay and bandwidth to solve this problem. Then a comprehensive performance evaluation method is proposed for path dynamic handover of CMT. Best performance paths are selected based on this method. Data transmission will only be carried out in the best performance paths, and excluding the paths which have bad performances. Finally, experiments are performed in NS2, and the simulation results show good results. Copyright © 2012 Binary information Press.

Network Security Situation Prediction Based on Improved Adaptive Grey Verhulst Model

Network security situation is a hot research topic in the field of network security. Whole situation awareness includes the current situation evaluation and the future situation prediction. However, the now-existing research focuses on the current situation evaluation, and seldom discusses the future prediction. Based on the historical research, an improved grey Verhulst model is put forward to predict the future situation. Aiming at the shortages in the prediction based on traditional Verhulst model, the adaptive grey parameters and equal- dimensions grey filling methods are proposed to improve the precision. The simulation results prove that the scheme is efficient and applicable.

Resilience against major disasters is the most essential characteristic of future electrical distribution systems(EDSs).A multi-agent-based rolling optimization method for EDS restoration scheduling is proposed in this *** a blackout occurs,considering the risk of losing the centralized authority due to the failure of the common core communication network,the available agents after disasters or cyber-attacks identify the communication-connected parts(CCPs)in the EDS with distributed communication.A multi-time interval optimization model is formulated and solved by the agents for the restoration scheduling of a CCP.A rolling optimization process for the entire EDS restoration is *** the scheduling/rescheduling in the rolling process,CCPs in EDS are re-identified and the restoration schedules for CCPs are *** decentralized decision-making and rolling optimization,EDS restoration scheduling can automatically start and periodically update itself,providing an effective solution for EDS restoration scheduling in a blackout event.A modified IEEE123-bus EDS is utilized to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

As an aggregator of distributed energy resources(DERs) such as distributed generator, energy storage, and load,the virtual power plant(VPP) enables these small DERs participating in system operation. One of the critical issues is how to aggregate DERs to form VPPs appropriately. To improve the controllability and reduce the operation cost of VPP, the complementary DERs with close electrical distances should be aggregated in the same VPP. In this paper, it is formulated as an optimal network partition model for minimizing the voltage deviation inside VPPs and the fluctuation of injection power at the point of common coupling(PCC). A new convex formulation of network reconfiguration strategy is incorporated in this approach which can guarantee the components of the same VPP connected and further improve the performance of *** proposed approach is cast as an instance of mixed-integer linear programming(MILP) and can be effectively ***, a scenario reduction method is developed to reduce the computation burden based on the k-shape algorithm. Numerical tests on the 13-bus and 70-bus distribution networks justify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
