This paper presents an application of ultrasonic tomography where the main objective is to identify the multiphase flow regime which is liquid, gas and solid at once. The system was designing non-invasively by using offline method. The transmission mode with fan shaped beam back projection had been implemented for sensing purposes where 8×8 projections were produced. Beside, the linear back projection (LBP) algorithm was implemented in the software system for the image reconstruction part. Experiments show that the multiphase flow regime for liquid, gas and solid at once can be identifying by using ultrasonic tomography. The results of experiments and possible future improvement were also discussed.

Abstract In this paper an anti-slip predictive controller is designed and implemented in order to control the rear wheels of a V-PRA (Variable Powered Rear Axle) vehicle. The control algorithm is EPSAC, a Model based Predictive control (MPC) strategy. It uses explicitly a model of the system for the prediction of the future system output, in order to calculate the optimal control input which will bring the system to a required setpoint. The main goals of this predictive controller were setpoint trajectory following, disturbance rejection and maintain overall the stability of the V-PRA vehicle. Although the process is non-linear, being influenced by several parameters, linear discrete-time ARX models could be obtained based on system linearization around an operating point. An initial SISO controller was developed and tested, based on a Simulink model of the process. The control performances were tested successfully in presence of all kind of disturbances, denoting a robust controller.

The single-phase induction machine (SPIM) has the advantage of being powered by a single-phase voltage source. The availability of this power allows it to be widely used: electric household appliances, portable machine tools... However, this type of machine has not yet taken its whole share from various works present until now, in comparison with the three-phase induction machine. With the object of contributing to the study of this machine, we propose in this article a new decoupling approach in the vector control block, based on the the Fuzzy Logic; in order to solve the problem of decreasing the rotor flux. Indeed, the vector control of single phase induction machine using conventional decoupling approaches has a remarkable decrease of rotor flux when the machine is powered by a real voltage source inverter (VSI). For three different decoupling approaches with two types of supply: perfect voltage source and real voltage source inverter; a comparative study through numerical simulations is presented. The simulation results show the feasibility and good performance obtained by the proposed approach.

The aim of this work is to create application for mobile devices such as PDAs running under Windows Mobile. With this application, and PDA it will be able to process the analog data measured by the A / D converter and display it in graphs. Use of the converter has four analog inputs. These are converted into digital form and transmitted via the communication interface Ethernet to WiFi router. Application running on a PDA uses WiFi connection to download measured data and to processes them. The advantage of this solution is particularly small size and mobility of the PDA. This eliminates the need to transfer the measuring device. This makes a possibility of usage wide especially in the manufacturing industry in the halls where it should be measured in several places at the same time, and the values compared between each other.

This paper deals with the battery life of mobile devices and PDAs at various load levels of the battery. For such testing of PDA battery life, there are many programs in ensuring the current battery status. Our developed appplications can determine the battery at defined time intervals and display its status on the device display in numeric format XX%, where the measured value is stored in an external file in XLS format. Addressing problem is designed to store the measured data of the appplication in tabular form, for better evaluation performance and the subsequent effect on the battery. Testing is focused on the impact of various device appplications, that means from low-end appplications to very demanding appplications with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, for the battery status.

The project is to create an application that converts the audio signal from your computer microphone to record format MP3. Application is designed to record and preserve the audio recordings to a file in a format of lossy compression of audio file compression based on MPEG algorithm (Motion Picture Experts Group). While maintaining a relatively high quality it can reduce the size of audio files in CD quality at about one tenth, for speech, however, it gives much worse results. The advantage of this application is the ability to set frequency range (the sampling) and set the width of the stream, which indicates the number of bits, by which a second of record is registred with. This project is carring out of design and development of software which is able to determine the ideal method of passing cars sweep so that the car is capable of a corner as quickly as possible without compromising safety to crew, or there is a deterioration in passenger comfort, or damage to tangible property transported. Thus a virtual model of a situation such as a desktop application programming in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 was created. Thanks to the user who made aplication used as an example of automated driving. At the same time it can become the basis for further work on this topic.
