Brain emotional learning based intelligent controller (BELBIC) is based on computational model of limbic system in the mammalian brain. In recent years, this model was applied in many linear and nonlinear control applications. Previous studies show that this controller has fast response, simple implementation and robustness with respect to disturbances. It is also possible to define emotional signal based on control application objectives. But in the previous studies, internal instability of this controller was not considered and control task were done in limited time period. In this article mathematical description of BELBIC is investigated and improved to avoid internal instability. Simulation and implementation of improved model was done on level plant. The obtained results showed that instability of model has been solved in the new model without loss of performance by using Integral Anti Windup (IAW).

Considering the need of an advanced processcontrol in cement industry, this paper presents an adaptive model predictive algorithm to control a white cement rotary kiln. As any other burning process, the control scenario is to expect the controller to regulate the temperature and the period of baking a fixed quantity of raw material as desired, as well as to have the concentration of the combustion gases under control. To achieve these goals, this work presents a strategy which includes multivariable online identification of the kiln process and a constrained generalized predictive controller. An MLP neural network model derived from real plant data of Saveh cement factory in Iran is used as the kiln process simulator. The control efforts are made taken into account the operating constraints. At last the proposed control strategy is modified so as to gain good disturbance rejection ability.

This paper presents stability analysis of the time-delayed equivalent control based single input sliding mode control systems using an LMI approach. Conditions to guarantee the boundedness of the control system trajectories under the time-delayed equivalent control based sliding mode control are obtained. Maximum upper bound of the delay time to guarantee stability is estimated. Digital simulations are conducted to verify the theoretical results.

A new multipurpose laboratory of building technology has been built in Tomas Bata University, faculty of Applied informatics and set into test operation. The laboratory supports several subjects like modern HVAC system applications, with renewable sources of energy implemented (solar collectors and reversible heat pump application), and a comprehensive system of control, based on the open bus communication system KNX , communication gate based on the TCP/IP protocol. The laboratory is as well equipped as a training tool for control systems based on bus communication particularly KNX (finished) and LONWORKS and BACNET (under construction). The paper describes the first results achieved by the laboratory.

This paper describes a two level parallel grammatical evolution (TLPGE) that can evolve complete programs using a variable length linear genome to govern the mapping of a Backus Naur Form grammar definition. To increase the efficiency of grammatical evolution (GE) the influence of backward processing was tested and a second level with differential evolution was added. The significance of backward coding (BC) and the comparison with standard coding of GEs is presented. The new method is based on parallel grammatical evolution (PGE) with a backward processing algorithm, which is further extended with a differential evolution algorithm. Thus a two-level optimization method was formed in attempt to take advantage of the benefits of both original methods and avoid their difficulties. Both methods used are discussed and the architecture of their combination is described. Also application is discussed and results on a real-word application are described.

It is illustrated that the LPV model is working correctly only in the considered polytope region, but inside it is approximating well the nonlinear model.
