This paper provides a new analytical robust stability checking method of fractional-order linear time invariant interval uncertain system. This paper continues the authors’ previous work (Chen et al., 2005a) where matrix perturbation theory was used. For the new robust stability checking, Lyapunov inequality is utilized for finding the maximum eigenvalue of a Hermitian matrix. Through numerical examples, the usefulness and the effectiveness of the newly proposed method are verified.

At the present time many embedded and real time systems require access to increasingly larger amount of data. Data structures can not be fully application dependent as usual and more sophisticated data processing algorithms are required. Placing conventional database principles into the real time environment is an obvious way but it is very difficult to achieve guaranteed real time database services because various components can compete for system resources. Our objective is to design an experimental real-time database system which would be suitable enough to study the most important real-time database issues, including CPU scheduling, concurrency control and conflict resolution. A new approach is proposed in the paper for unknown glucose inlet estimation in case of diabetic patients under insensitive care in form of a linear parameter varying (LPV) model class. The nonlinear two compartment glucose-insulin system is rewritten in affine parameter varying form in order to handle the dynamics with LPV fault detection and isolation (FDI) method. The aim of the closed-loop fault detection, on the one hand, is to estimate the unknown disturbance input of the system, on the other hand to recognize the actuator fault. Many applications supported by a database management system are characterized by the requirement of timely access to the underlying database today. It is very difficult to achieve guaranteed real time database services when putting a database into a real-time environment because various components can compete for system resources. Previous research in real-time databases has focused primarily on evolution and evaluation of transaction processing algorithms, priority assignment strategies and concurrency control techniques. But for the most part the research efforts are based only on simulation studies with many parameters defined. Our objective is to design and implement an experimental real-time database system suitable for study of real time transaction processing. The experimental system is implemented as an integrated set of the most important functional parts of a veritable real-time database system. It serves as a support platform for performance evaluation of known and new algorithms of the particular processing components, including CPU scheduling, concurrency control and conflict resolution strategies. Because of the strong interactions among the processed components, proposed system can help us to understand their effect on system performance and to identify the most influencing factors.
