An empirical model for branding oriented by the environmental sustainability of the Amazon Rainforest: a hybrid structural equation modeling with fsQCA approach

Utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior, a meaningful connection between an organization and its consumers can be established, transcending mere appearances and delving into emotions, relationships, and brand experiences. In line with these principles, this study aims to present an empirical model grounded in factual evidence derived from the perspectives of entrepreneurs and consumers of environmentally sustainable brands in the Brazilian Amazon. The proposed model adopts a mixed-modeling approach, utilizing data analysis techniques such as fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). Two independent data sets were collected: one from 8 companies operating in the Amazon rainforest and another from 535 potential consumers. By analyzing these datasets, consumer motivations for the consumption of sustainable brands, entrepreneurial practices, and the role of traditional communities and the forest environment in shaping brand perceptions were identified. The results reveal that, from the consumer’s perspective, the key factors influencing a positive inclination to purchase sustainable brands include the brand’s engagement with traditional com munities, perceived product quality, brand innovation, and a transparently communicated positioning strategy. These constructs form the core components of the main solution. This article provides valuable information for entrepreneurs operating sustainable brands in tropical forests as well as for policymakers in community-based entrepreneurship. It is also of interest to researchers and individuals involved in brand management as a strategy for empowering small businesses engaged in sustainable practices and community collaboration. The study’s findings and recommendations have the potential to foster more sustainable and socially responsible business practices, thereby enhancing local economies and contributing to environmental preservation.

Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) are integral components of e-healthcare systems, responsible for monitoring patients' physiological states through intelligent implantable or wearable sensor nodes. These nodes collect medical data, which is then transmitted to remote healthcare facilities for thorough evaluation. Securing medical data within WBANs is paramount due to its central role in preserving patient privacy and confidentiality. Notably, Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals have recently gained prominence as pivotal elements within diverse security frameworks. Incorporating ECG signals strategically enhances the security and reliability of WBANs and broader e-healthcare systems, instilling greater trustworthiness. This survey article provides an in-depth exploration of contemporary ECG-based security schemes, adding to the scholarly discourse. The imperative to categorize these security paradigms revolves around their use of ECG signals. This categorization identifies three key domains: the first involves schemes that utilize ECG signals for cryptographic operations, encompassing key generation, agreement, management, and authentication. The second category employs steganography-based techniques, using ECG signals to conceal patients' sensitive medical data. The third category focuses on enhancing ECG signal security during data transmission. Each category is meticulously elaborated, detailing architectural foundations, notable contributions, and intrinsic security services. Furthermore, each section presents a comprehensive overview of the attributes characterizing ECG-based security frameworks. This includes insights into employed datasets, simulation environments, evaluation metrics, and inherent advantages and limitations. Expanding on this, a thorough analysis of distinctive attributes underpinning these security frameworks concludes by shedding light on potential directions for future research. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.

The electrically evoked compound action potential (ECAP) has been used in various clinical studies and has become a key physiological signal for cochlear implants (CI). This study used four sensing electrodes to record ECAP signals based on the alternating polarity approach. An electrical field imaging (EFI) result based on the finite element method was used to obtain the interface impedance, then ECAP simulation results were computed and compared with a patient's clinical ECAP measurements. Preliminary modeling results show that the interface impedance obtained by this EFI-based technique can improve the simulation accuracy of the ECAP model. The ECAP modeling result will be compared with clinical ECAP measurements to validate the model in the full paper.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a pivotal genetic marker influencing the efficacy of immunotherapy in colorectal cancer. Traditional MSI examination often requires additional genetic or immunohistochemical tests, whereas histology images, widely available in colorectal cancer diagnosis, offer a valuable alternative for MSI prediction. Although Transformer-based models have demonstrated promising outcomes in predicting MSI from histology images, they are hampered by traditional local attention mechanisms that struggle to capture long-range interdependencies and establish a comprehensive global receptive field. In this study, we introduce DiNAT-MSI, a novel framework for histology-based MSI prediction that incorporates the Dilated Neighborhood Attention Transformer (DiNAT). This model enhances global context recognition and substantially expands receptive fields, all without additional computational burden. Our results demonstrate that DiNAT-MSI achieves a superior patientwise AUROC compared to ResNet18 and Swin Transformer, along with commendable explainability. Our work not only illustrates a more accessible diagnostic tool for leveraging histological data but also underscores the potential of Transformerbased models with sophisticated attention designs in advancing precision medicine for colorectal cancer patients.

The infection of Plasmodium vivax is relatively less virulent than the deathliest Plasmodium falciparum. However, it still can lead to a fatal case and often induces recurring malaria due to dormant parasites in the liver. Thus, the research to study the drug to treat Plasmodium vivax is essential, where the enzyme dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) has recently become a new drug target. However, the drug-enzyme interaction study has only recently been conducted in Plasmodium falciparum (pfDHODH) due to the lack of the 3D structure of enzyme DHODH from Plasmodium vivax that is crucial for the study. Therefore, this study aimed to perform the modelling study of Plasmodium vivax DHODH (PvDHODH) to create a 3D structure as a basis for drug-protein interaction study in upcoming studies. Sequence pvDHODH (Accession: SCO68359.1) was used in homology modelling using Modeller 10.2 with the crystal structure of DHODH from DHODH (Accession: 7KZY) as a template. Overall, the model generated from the homology modelling was considered a good model, and the 3D structure was close to the native state according to several parameters, including DOPE score, GA341 score, QMEAN4 value, 3D-1D score, ERRAT2 score, and ProSA score. Ramachandran plot also revealed that almost all amino acids were distributed in the desirable and allowed area (99.1%), and only 0.9% were in generously allowed regions. Superimposition of the model with the template also indicated that the model has an almost similar structure and amino acids positioning, including in the binding pocket and active site. Therefore, the model can be used for downstream analysis in drug-protein interaction studies. Nevertheless, some improvements can still be performed to upgrade the quality of the model by deleting unaligned residues on the C-terminal and realigning the residues at the doubting site.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are widely used in various applications, from inspection and surveillance to transportation and delivery. Navigating UAVs in complex 3D environments is a challenging task that requires robust and efficient decision-making algorithms. This paper presents a novel approach to UAV navigation in 3D environments using a Curriculum-based Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) approach. The proposed method utilizes a deep neural network to model the UAV’s decision-making process and to learn a mapping from the state space to the action space. The learning process is guided by a reinforcement signal that reflects the performance of the UAV in terms of reaching its target while avoiding obstacles and with energy efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed method has a positive trade off when compared to the baseline algorithm. The proposed method was able to perform well in environments with a state space size of 22 millions, allowing the usage in big environments or in maps with high resolution. The results demonstrate the potential of DRL for enabling UAVs to operate effectively in complex environments.

Relying only on behaviors that emerge from simple responsive controllers; swarms of robots have been shown capable of autonomously aggregate themselves or objects into clusters without any form of communication. We push these controllers to the limit, requiring robots to sort themselves or objects into different clusters. Based on a responsive controller that maps the current reading of a line-of-sight sensor to a pair of speeds for the robots' differential wheels, we demonstrate how multiple tasks instances can be accomplished by a robotic swarm. Using the dividing rectangles approach and physics simulation, a training step optimizes the parameters of the controller guided by a fitness function. We conducted a series of systematic trials in physics-based simulation and evaluate the performance in terms of dispersion and the ratio of clustered robots/objects. Across 20 trials where 30 robots cluster themselves into 3 groups, an average of 99.83% of them were correctly clustered into their group after 300 s. Across 50 trials where 15 robots cluster 30 objects into 3 groups, an average of 61.20%, 82.87%, and 97.73% of objects were correctly clustered into their group after 600 s, 900 s, and 1800 s, respectively. The object cluster behavior scales well while the aggregation does not, the latter due to the requirement of control tuning based on the number of robots.

Autonomous take-off and landing capabilities are crucial in UAV vision-based missions, ensuring adaptive navigation, especially in challenging environments where realtime identification and interaction with a variety of landing platforms are required. In this context, this paper presents a servo-visual controller that uses pattern detection and color segmentation techniques to identify take-off/landing platforms and estimate their current orientation. The proposed system was subjected to experimental validation with four platforms positioned in different orientations, heights, and positions, demonstrating its versatility in various conditions. Our study addresses the Flying Robots Trial League challenge, which emulates mapping and inspection tasks in offshore platforms.

Then in industrial revolution 4.0 robotics and artificial intelligence will take the place of low-skilled or menial employment that don't require specialized expertise (AI). To aim research is Telematics Work Field Review Text Classification Using the Naïve Bayes Method. The method using Multinomial Naïve Bayes model which is trained to learn from patterns in training data set without being programmed explicitly. Then, based on the Term Frequency - Inverse Document Frequency, consider the weighting of the word used (TF-IDF). The text classification stage is then carried out using the multinominal nave bayes classification method with evaluation using the confusion matrix, following the acquisition of the TF-IDF value. In the study it took data with web crawling techniques on social media sites twitter. The data collected was 936 data consisting of 7,8% negative sentiments, 26,4% positive sentiments, and 65,8% neutrals. The results of accuracy testing using the Confusion Matrix. And from the results of such tests resulted in an accuracy of 66%, precision 73%, and recall 85%.

In mobile robotics, an essential requirement for the fusion of different sensors is that measurements are expressed with respect to the same reference. In this sense, the transformation between sensors and robot is necessary to ensure better sensor fusion. Therefore, this article proposes an extrinsic sensor calibration based on markers and associated to three orthogonal planes. This technique is applied to two calibration approaches, LiDAR-Robot and LiDAR-Camera. The first one calculates the transformation between a 3D LiDAR sensor and a robot, and the second system calculates the transformation between a 3D LiDAR and an embedded RGB camera. To demonstrate the efficiency of our method, we performed simulations on the CoppeliaSim simulator and experiments in the laboratory. Then, the results show that it is possible to calibrate the sensors with the methodologies.
