Quality of life in general population before and during pandemic is topic need to be address by researcher in terms of mobility, self-care, usual activities, pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression. The study was carried out among Saudi population. Data were collected from general population using questionnaire during the period from 22 August 2021 to 10th January 2022. As a result, total 214 participants have included in this study. Among them prevalent age group include 40 years (n= 63, 29.4%) shadowed by the age group 25-35 (n= 61, 28.5%) while above 60 years group were least frequent (n= 1, 0.5%). On questioning the applicants whether they were satisfied with their health and how would they rate their quality of life, their answers were as follows: yes, or satisfied (n= 86, 40.2%), very Satisfied (n= 102, 47.7%) Dissatisfied (n= 11, 5.1%) and neither satisfied nor dissatisfied (n= 15, 7%). Due to pandemic, they were rate quality of life very good (n= 94, 43.9%), good (n= 63, 29.4 %) poor (n= 5, 2.3 %) and neither good and nor poor (n= 52, 24.3 %). During pandemic 96 participants feel no change in their weight but 110 participants respond that there is increase in coffee intake during the pandemic. Similarly increased in smoking habits and decrease rate in social activities (n=119,41.4%). The psychosomatic well-being of people has been interrupted by disturbing their social activities during pandemic.

Sleep disorders have a significant impact on physical health, cognitive ability, as well as quality of life. However, they are still underdiagnosed due to the practical limitations of traditional diagnostic methods, such as polysomnography. Polysomnography has been accepted as the gold standard with a good accurate diagnostic value. However, it is laborious, time-consuming and frequently unavailable, particularly in the setting with limited resources. To address these challenges, this study aims to improve sleep disorder classification using machine learning (ML) techniques with metaheuristic optimization strategies. The study utilizes the Sleep Health and Lifestyle Dataset, which includes demographic data, sleep parameters, lifestyle factors, and cardiovascular indicators. To improve model efficiency and predictive accuracy, the binary Al-Biruni Earth Radius (bBER) optimizer is applied for feature selection, effectively reducing data dimensionality by eliminating irrelevant and redundant features. Among the evaluated models, the multilayer perceptron (MLP) achieved the strongest baseline performance, reaching an accuracy of 89.92 % and a sensitivity of 91 % after feature selection. Further optimization through the BER algorithm led to the development of the BER-MLP model, which delivered superior classification results, achieving an accuracy of 95.41 % and a sensitivity of 92.45 %. These findings reinforce the effectiveness of integrating metaheuristic optimization with machine learning approaches to enhance diagnostic accuracy and reliability in sleep disorder detection.

Most general dynamics of an open quantum system is commonly represented by a quantum channel, which is a completely positive trace-preserving map (CPTP or Kraus map). Well-known representations of quantum channels are described by Choi matrices and by Kraus operator-sum representation (OSR). As was shown before, one can use Kraus OSR to parameterize quantum channels by points of a suitable quotient of some complex Stiefel manifold by the action of the unitary group. In this work, we establish a homeomorphism between the topological space of quantum channels and the quotient of the complex Stiefel manifold. This homeomorphism can be applied to various quantum optimization problems. As an example, we apply it to the analysis of extrema points for a wide variety of quantum control objective functionals defined on the complex Stiefel manifolds, including mean value, generation of quantum gates, thermodynamic quantities involving entropy, etc. Finally, a metric on the space of quantum channels induced by a Riemannian metric on the Stiefel manifold is defined, and we show that it is a generalization of the Bures angle between density matrices. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye, is the inflammation of the conjunctiva, often accompanied by redness, itchiness, and the discharge of thick white or greyish pus. Highly contagious in settings involving close contact, it poses significant public health and economic concerns. This study proposes a fuzzy mathematical modeling framework to investigate Conjunctival Viral Disease (CVD) transmission dynamics, with particular attention to the roles of asymptomatic carriers and environmental influences. Unlike conventional models that rely solely on deterministic parameters, the incorporation of fuzzy theory allows for representing uncertainties and variabilities inherent in real-world disease transmission. The model further incorporates time-delay terms to account for incubation periods and other latent effects, enhancing the accuracy of system dynamics. This fuzzy framework performs key analyses, including identifying equilibrium points, computation of the basic reproduction number, sensitivity analysis, and assessment of local and global stability. Numerical solutions are obtained using the Forward Euler and Nonstandard Finite Difference (NSFD) methods. The NSFD scheme is rigorously examined for convergence, non-negativity, boundedness, and consistency properties. Simulation results confirm that the NSFD approach maintains the qualitative features of the model even under larger time steps. Overall, the study underscores the importance of integrating fuzzy logic and time delays in epidemic modeling and presents a robust methodological approach for understanding and managing the spread of infectious diseases in uncertain and dynamic environments.

The LS-STAG immersed boundary cut-cell method modification for viscoelastic flow computations is presented. Rate type viscoelastic flow models (linear and quasilinear) are considered. Rate type viscoelastic flow models (linear and quasilinear) are considered. The obtained numerical method is implemented in the LS-STAG software package developed by the author. This software allows to simulate viscous incompressible flows by using the LS-STAG method and it modifications. The LS-STAG-discretization of extra-stress equations for viscoelastic Maxwell, Jeffreys, upper-convected Maxwell, Maxwell-A, Oldroyd-B, Oldroyd-A, Johnson Segalman fluids was developed. Formulae for differential types of convected time derivatives (Oldroyd, Cotter-Rivlin, Jaumann-Zaremba-Noll derivatives) the LS-STAG discretization was obtained. Normal non-newtonian stresses are computed at the centers of base LS-STAG mesh cells and shear non-newtonian stresses are computed at the cell corners. Time-stepping algorithm is based on the first order predictor-corrector scheme. To validate developed numerical method the test problem about viscoelastic Oldroyd-B flow past a circular airfoil was used. Computational experiments were carried out at Weissenberg number in the range from 0 to 4. The computed values of the drag coefficients and the wake length are in good agreement with the experimental data. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Objective:The purpose of this study is to review the impact on the usage of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of obesity,specifically the usage of acupuncture and ***:PubMed and Google Scholar databases were searched to identify randomized controlled trials,which the methodology focused on the use of acupuncture and phytoacupuncture for the treatment of obesity from the beginning of these databases to February 2018,supplementing with literature retrospective and manual ***:A total of 8 trials including 566 participants met the selected *** the alterations of the body mass index and waist circumference,acupuncture and phytoacupuncture seems to have a positive effect as opposed to the subjects who received superficial acupuncture or ***,there were other parameters that showed promising results such as improvements in the levels of(1)serum total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein and serum fasting triglyceride,(2)serum insulin and leptin,plasma ghrelin and cholecystokinin and(3)serum pro-oxidant antioxidant balance,as well as improvements in(4)skin fat thickness in the upper limbs,trunk and abdomen,(5)abdominal fat and deep subcutaneous fat *** main acupoints employed in the selected studies are found along several meridians such as the stomach,spleen and conception vessel,and the plants used had the main objective of accelerating the metabolism,reducing appetite and resolving the unbalances in the genesis of ***:It is suggested that acupuncture and phytoacupuncture can be useful tools for weight *** combined with a life-style change,they can contribute to achieve better results than just a lifestyle change by ***,the need for further studies to clarify mechanisms of action and adequacy of protocols in order to obtain more homogeneous results is also present.

Biocomputing and molecular biology are areas that change knowledge and skills for acquisition, storing, management, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of biological information. This requires the utilization of high performance computers and innovative software tools for management of the vast information, as well as deployment of innovative algorithmic techniques for analysis, interpretation and prognostication of data in order to get to insight of the design and validation of life-science experiments. Sequence alignment is an important method in DNA and protein analysis. The paper describes the computational challenges in biological sequence processing. The great challenges are to propose parallel computational models and parallel program implementations based on the algorithms for biological sequence alignment. An investigation of the efficiency of sequence alignment based on parallel multithreaded program implementation of Needleman-Wunsch algorithm is presented in this paper. Parallel computational model based on Needleman-Wunsch algorithm is designed. The proposed parallel model is verified by multithreaded parallel program implementation utilizing OpenMP. A number of experiments have been carried out for the case of various data sets and a various number of threads. Parallel performance parameters execution time and speedup are estimated experimentally. The performance estimation and scalability analyses show that the suggested model has good scalability both in respect to the workload and machine size.
