This paper aims to develop a sensor based monitoring and analyzing system for Neuro-Degenerative Disorder patients (NDD); this may consist on SpO2 sensor, Electrophysiological sensors, NIBP, Motion Capture sensors and Eye Monitoring sensor, taking into consideration an acceptable cost for the whole system. Recorded data will be sent to an embedded decision making unit where detection, analysis, classification, prediction and action control will occur. The sensors and the decision making unit will be implemented in a comfortable jacket that doesn't affect the patients' movements and that can be used by several patients with reduced sensor placement alterations. The decision that can be made is creating a stimulus to avoid falling in case of sudden stop while moving, initiating an alarm, sending a notification to a mobile phone application, and/or telemedicine monitoring features. Artificial Neural Networks will be used to classify and predict the abnormal cases where action should be taken, and since the sensors will be continuously recording, it is possible to achieve continuous learning for the ANN as a first phase. Initial models will be defined by testing normal behaviors and some known abnormal behaviors or symptoms related to the electrical activity and other characteristics of the heart, oxygen saturation level, eye activity and body motion.

computers have been integrated into almost all areas of our daily lives. Serious problems stem from the fact that elementary and secondary school students in general have taken none or inadequate computer classes and as such, their awareness of efficient computer usage has not been adequately addressed. During university education, students have been observed experiencing hardships using computers for research and document preparation, due to their prior use of computers having consisted mostly of accessing social media and games. The current study investigated 2013-2014 high school graduates’ attitudes regarding technology, the computer programs they used and their usage frequency, reasons for why they use the Internet and social media and their usage frequencies, and their basic computer skills at university level. The participants of the current study were students who had just entered various departments and language preparation levels at Fatih University, Istanbul, Turkey. 250 Participants were randomly selected. Data for the current study were collected through a Basic computer Skills Questionnaire, an application for determining the levels of participants’ basic computer skills. Significant benefits are foreseen for students entering universities as helpful computer users with awareness attained during elementary or secondary education. Additionally, particularly for students who prefer non-social majors, it will be very useful to have learned a programming language and an algorithm at basic levels. The Internet as a medium for potentially leading to a diverse range of problems today requires conscious users.

Nowadays, many major efforts and interests are focused on providing better services for some elders and patients who have to live alone, while they are exposed to different dangers during their daily life activities such as falling. The necessity to reduce the negative consequences of falling, whether related to physical or psychological health or to financial encumbrances, by providing an immediate help and a continuous remote monitoring, drives a corresponding meaning to develop a reasonable safety-related monitoring and detecting system of the human motion with respect to the privacy and the simplicity. In this paper, a conceptual prototype of safety-related platform for monitoring human activities by mean of limited number of acceleration and rotation sensors is presented. Additionally, the proposed approach that adopts the artificial neural networks to overcome the challenges emerged by reducing the number of motion sensors and to compensate the missing data is also introduced. Moreover, the required procedures for collecting training and testing data are also summarized in the last section.

The overwhelming acceptance of social media creates opportunities to learn about facts and events that are echoed in posts, tweets and messages uploaded by users. Analysis of these data can lead to interesting observations and conclusions. Of special importance are aspects related to temporal and dynamic nature of these findings. This paper presents a simple fuzzy-based approach of pre-processing and analyzing Twitter hashtags. The obtained fuzzy clusters are further examined in order to gain insight related to temporal trends and patterns of hashtags' popularity.

In this paper is proposed optimization, scaling, performance evaluation and profiling of parallel multiple sequence alignment based on ClustalW algorithm on the supercomputer BlueGene/Q, so-called JUQUEEN, for the case study of the influenza virus sequences. For this purpose a parallel I/O interface for simultaneous and independent access to single file collectively has been designed and verified on the basis of parallel program implementation on the supercomputer JUQUEEN.
