Communication in the Arabic language with gaze using dwell time has been made possible by the development of eye typing interfaces. This paper describes the design process for developing iWriter, an Arabic gaze communication system. Design considerations for the optimization of the gaze typing interfaces for Arabic script are discussed.

Many new e-learning systems have been introduced in the past few years. Each new e-learning tool presents new benefit and advantages on the learning model. Most of Jordan universities adopted the e-learning system as a main request in their university education to automate the managing of learning events. A lot of them exchange the e-learning management system to get more flexibility in their learning system. This work compares three e-learning systems which have been used in Jordan universities and in what basis they choose the most adequate one on their views. The paper presents the results of the comparison of three most popular e-learning in Jordan (Moodle, Claroline, Blackbord). The comparison is based on various pedagogical and technical aspects. The open source factor supported the improvement of the e-learning which give great developed communities in many universities. Moodle is the most e-learning management system that has been chosen in many Jordan universities.

computer vision technology has been used as a successful non-destructive quality assessment tool for various food products. In general, several features are extracted from the images of interest, and used for the classification models. Furthermore, in most of the studies, static images have been used in the calibration and evaluation models. Classification models with a reduced number of features, and a mechanism to test the capability of the algorithm for moving objects by means of simulating the blurring effect on the static images would be beneficial to determine the performance of the system in real-time quality monitoring in industries. Using three date varieties as model food, motion was simulated for the date's images and a successful neural network classifier was designed with only three statistical features (mean, standard deviation, and skewness). The reduced number of features and simplicity of the classifier yielded a solution that can be potentially implemented in hardware fast enough so that to consider the case of classification of the dates in a conveyor belt. To test the solution under such conditions, a blurring degradation function was used to verify that the classifier would work. The effects that motion blurring causes to these statistical moments in a general sense were examined using random numbers drawn from the distribution in the Pearson system. Because motion blurring showed a tendency to change the distribution to a Gaussian density, the same features and classifier yielded similar results despite of motion. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media New York.

This paper introduces the Hybrid Decision Tree with Harmony Search (HDT-HS) optimization algorithm to improve the rate of accuracy for the decision tree algorithm so as to apply it to DNA data sets. The hybridization includes operating the decision tree method after the Improvisation step of the harmony search algorithm in order to navigate for several solutions at the same time. This is to improve the accuracy of the final results for the decision tree. The results show that the hybrid algorithm achieved better accuracy of about 96.73% compared to classifier algorithms such as Nave (94.8%), MBBC (95.99%);optimization algorithms such as bagging (94.5%) and boosting (94.7%);hybrid decision tree with genetic algorithm (70.7%) and another version from the decision tree such as C4.5 (94.3%) and PCL (94.4%). © 2012 IEEE.

Various security risks are inherently associated with the acquisition of software systems and the impact of these risks might be unpredictable, uncertain and vague. Risk analysis process plays a crucial role in identifying risks, affected assets and mitigations that can reduce the overall severity of impact. In this paper we introduce a methodology to evaluate the risks to an organization as a result of security flaws in software systems. software vulnerabilities such as buffer overflow, SQL injection attacks, race conditions, incorrect exceptional handling provide opportunities for attackers to exploit confidentially, integrity and availability of the systems. The security risks of software have inputs with vagueness and uncertainty therefore fuzzy logic has been used to capture the risks and calculate the overall risk of a threat on the business finances and reputation. Fuzzy expert system take input from STRIDE model, fuzzify these inputs and generate output range to give the risk of a threat based on rules.

Local Community Detection Using Link Similarity

Exploring local community structure is an appealing problem that has drawn much recent attention in the area of social network analysis. As the complete information of network is often difficult to obtain, such as networks of web pages, research papers and Facebook users, people can only detect community structure from a certain source vertex with limited knowledge of the entire graph. The existing approaches do well in measuring the community quality, but they are largely dependent on source vertex and putting too strict policy in agglomerating new vertices. Moreover, they have predefined parameters which are difficult to obtain. This paper proposes a method to find local community structure by analyzing link similarity between the community and the vertex. Inspired by the fact that elements in the same community are more likely to share common links, we explore community structure heuristically by giving priority to vertices which have a high link similarity with the community. A three-phase process is also used for the sake of improving quality of community structure. Experimental results prove that our method performs effectively not only in computer-generated graphs but also in real-world graphs.

The subject paper presents new approach to response data compaction of multi-output digital circuits using two-input nonlinear logic with the objective of designing zero-aliasing (aliasing-free) space compression hardware for single stuck-line faults, extending well-known concept of conventional switching theory, viz. that of compatibility relation as used in the minimization of incompletely specified sequential machines. For a pair of response data outputs of the circuit under test (CUT), the method introduces the notion of fault detection compatibility and conditional fault detection compatibility (conditional upon some other pair of response data outputs being simultaneously fault detection compatible) with respect to two-input AND/NAND and/or OR/NOR logic. The process is illustrated with the design details of space compressors for the International Symposium on Circuits and Systems or ISCAS 85 combinational and ISCAS 89 full-scan sequential benchmark circuits using simulation programs ATalANTA, FSIM and COMPACTEST, though, because of space constraints, only some partial results on simulation on ISCAS 89 full-scan sequential benchmark circuits using ATalANTA are provided here.

The tremendous growth in the use of techniques of computer networks and internet in various life directions have exposed users of computer networks and internet to the risk of penetration by the attackers such as viruses, worms, Trojan horses and botnets. These attacks have a negative impact on the computer network and internet and result in delays due to congestion, extensive loss of network bandwidth as well as Futility and stealing users' computers data and money. One of the most important issues in network security is to deal carefully with existence of bots/botnets. In this research our main interest is to perform a comprehensive study about the risk of botnet (penetrate, detect and prevent botnet) on the computer network and internet. © 2012 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

We report the results of a joint analysis of data from BICEP2/Keck Array and Planck. BICEP2 and Keck Array have observed the same approximately 400 deg2 patch of sky centered on RA 0 h, Dec. −57.5°. The combined maps reach a depth of 57 nK deg in Stokes Q and U in a band centered at 150 GHz. Planck has observed the full sky in polarization at seven frequencies from 30 to 353 GHz, but much less deeply in any given region (1.2 μK deg in Q and U at 143 GHz). We detect 150×353 cross-correlation in B modes at high significance. We fit the single- and cross-frequency power spectra at frequencies ≥150 GHz to a lensed-ΛCDM model that includes dust and a possible contribution from inflationary gravitational waves (as parametrized by the tensor-to-scalar ratio r), using a prior on the frequency spectral behavior of polarized dust emission from previous Planck analysis of other regions of the sky. We find strong evidence for dust and no statistically significant evidence for tensor modes. We probe various model variations and extensions, including adding a synchrotron component in combination with lower frequency data, and find that these make little difference to the r constraint. Finally, we present an alternative analysis which is similar to a map-based cleaning of the dust contribution, and show that this gives similar constraints. The final result is expressed as a likelihood curve for r, and yields an upper limit r0.05<0.12 at 95% confidence. Marginalizing over dust and r, lensing B modes are detected at 7.0σ significance.
