Recognition and extraction of license plate information from still images or videos are the basis of modern traffic and security systems. Automatic License Plate Recognition (alPR) is transforming public safety and transportation in many ways. Such license plate recognition systems enable advanced solutions for toll roads, offer significant operational cost savings through automation, and even open up new market opportunities, such as license plate readers mounted on police vehicles. In this work, we implement license plate recognition based on convolutional neural networks to achieve high accuracy. You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm is employed for detection, while, an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technique is used for text recognition. We use four variants of the YOLOv5 for license plate detection and the EasyOCR for license plate recognition. The results show that YOLOv5x (extra-large) achieves a Mean Average Precision (mAP) of nearly 82% in detecting vehicles and license plates in an image. Furthermore, the recognition of the letters on license plates is achieved with a confidence score of nearly 65%. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The Artificial Intervertebral Disc (IVD) is considered one of the modern medical developments aimed at treating some problems and diseases associated with the spine. The artificial intervertebral disc restores or improves the spine's function. It is also considered an emergency surgical option to help relieve pain and reduce the need for traditional spinal fixation operations. PLA is an easy-to-print polymer capable of achieving biocompatibility, making it suitable for medical and biomedical applications. This study studied porous functionally graded materials by choosing (PLA +) and manufacturing them with a three-dimensional printer with FDM technology to design artificial intervertebral discs for humans. For the reason that the artificial intervertebral disc in the L4-L5 segment is greatly affected by the tooth of overweight people, the intervertebral disc was discussed in terms of compressive stresses of different forces 2 KN, 4.75 KN, max load 80 KN experimentally, and 31 cases were studied with a porous gradient with the help of ANSYS22 R2 with the same forces in one case and another with the addition of the moment effect, 7.5 N. m with the same forces and the last case only moment. The compression test results showed the possibility of using porous compositions to reduce the change of the surface area of the disk artificial vertebra if it is subjected to high or medium loads. In the best sample model with a porous gradient of 8 layers, the first and last layers are sold, while the inner layers are porous with a porosity of 0.1. This is very important for the development of effective artificial intervertebral discs capable of maintaining the permanence of their work and reducing friction in the future by injecting them with a non-toxic medical gelatin substance and other medical specifications inside the pores and, thus, behavior similar to a human disc and at the same time a solution to back pain problems and with less guarantee than other methods manufacture

The 8-hydroxyquinoline (Q) has been used as a primary ligand in diverse ligand complex synthesis of Iron (II) and [Fe(Q)(L)2H2O] complex types, and amino acids (L) such serine, phenylalanine, and L-leucine have been used as secondary ligands. Analysis such as electrical conductance, magnetic susceptibility, spectroscopic and thermal studies have been used in metal complex analysis. The complexes' electrical conductance investigations show that they are not electrolytic in origin. Measurements of magnetic susceptibility showed that the complexes were diamagnetic. Ligand charge transfer transition states can be observed in electronic absorption spectra. Proton (NMR)chemical environments are validated in addition to FT-IR studies demonstrating metal ion bonding through the ligand N- and O-donor atoms. Furthermore, analysis of thermal results show that coordinated water molecules are present. An agar cup and tube dilution procedure were used to investigate antibacterial activity of the complexes alongside the pathogenic bacterium P. aeruginosa, S. epidermis, P. vulgaris, and E. faecalis. © 2024 IEEE.

Age-Based Automatic Voice Conversion Using Blood Relation for Voice Impaired

The present work presents a statistical method to translate human voices across age groups,based on commonalities in voices of blood *** age-translated voices have been naturalized extracting the blood relation features e.g.,pitch,duration,energy,using Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients(MFCC),for social compatibility of the *** system has been demonstrated using standard English and an Indian *** voice samples for resynthesis were derived from 12 families,with member ages ranging from 8–80 *** voice-age translation,performed using the Pitch synchronous overlap and add(PSOLA)approach,by modulation of extracted voice features,was validated by perception *** translated and resynthesized voices were correlated using Linde,Buzo,Gray(LBG),and Kekre’s Fast Codebook generation(KFCG)*** translated voice targets,a strong(θ>∼93%andθ>∼96%)correlation was found with blood relatives,whereas,a weak(θ<∼78%andθ<∼80%)correlation range was found between different families and different gender from same *** study further subcategorized the sampling and synthesis of the voices into similar or dissimilar gender groups,using a support vector machine(SVM)choosing between available voice ***,∼96%,∼93%,and∼94%accuracies were obtained in the identification of the gender of the voice sample,the age group samples,and the correlation between the original and converted voice samples,*** results obtained were close to the natural voice sample features and are envisaged to facilitate a near-natural voice for speech-impaired easily.

A Real-Time Oral Cavity Gesture Based Words Synthesizer Using Sensors

The present system experimentally demonstrates a synthesis of syllables and words from tongue manoeuvers in multiple languages,captured by four oral sensors *** an experimental demonstration of the system used in the oral cavity,a prototype tooth model was *** on the principle developed in a previous publication by the author(s),the proposed system has been implemented using the oral cavity(tongue,teeth,and lips)features alone,without the glottis and the *** positions of the sensors in the proposed system were optimized based on articulatory(oral cavity)gestures estimated by simulating the mechanism of human *** system has been tested for all English alphabets and several words with sensor-based input along with an experimental demonstration of the developed algorithm,with limit switches,potentiometer,and flex sensors emulating the tongue in an artificial oral *** system produces the sounds of vowels,consonants,and words in English,along with the pronunciation of meanings of their translations in four major Indian languages,all from oral cavity *** experimental setup also caters to gender mapping of *** sound produced from the hardware has been validated by a perceptual test to verify the gender and word of the speech sample by listeners,with∼98%and∼95%accuracy,*** a model may be useful to interpret speech for those who are speech-disabled because of accidents,neuron disorder,spinal cord injury,or larynx disorder.
