The development of Decision Support Systems (DSS) for several companies operating in sectors such as tourism, healthcare, or others, presents significant challenges due to the nature of their multi-component architecture. A typical DSS consists of a data component, a model component incorporating machine learning and deep learning techniques, and a user interface component, each one requires diverse technologies. This complexity increases development time and effort, hindering the efficient design of DSS tailored to specific domains like tourism, where real-time decision-making is essential. One promising approach to overcome these challenges is the use of Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs). DSLs allow developers to model and generate code more efficiently by providing high-level abstractions suited to the domain. By leveraging DSLs, it is possible to simplify the design process and automate the generation of code or parts of the DSS, thereby reducing the overall complexity and time required for development. This paper proposes a metamodel for designing DSS, specifically for the Smart Tourism sector. The metamodel serves as a foundation for the creation of DSL. The goal is to provide a solution to facilitate the development of DSS for the demands of tourism. The paper outlines the key concepts, approach, and results, presenting the first element of the proposed DSL which is the metamodel capturing the essential components and relationships for DSS in Smart Tourism. © 2024 IEEE.

Application of VGIS Digital Twin Platform for Enhanced Oilfield Disaster Management and Environmental Protection

VGIS (Virtual Geographic information System) Platform is a unified oilfield operations management platform based on MaaS (Management as a Service) that integrates advanced technologies such as AIoT (Artificial Intelligence & Internet of Things), GIS (Geographic information System), Digital Twin, and AR (Augmented Reality)/ VR (Virtual Reality). The VGIS platform connects, collects, integrates, analyses, and acts on disparate data sources to provide the oilfield with a centralized view to help make informed decisions fast, bring operational visibility across all assets to improve safety and operational efficiency, reduce costs and improve margins, provide comprehensive analytics and decision support, increase business agility, and reduce management complexity. This is a case study of the application of the VGIS platform Majnoon oilfield, Basrah, Iraq. VGIS digital transformation, production process, and KPIs (Key performance indicators) are highly managed taking oilfield management to a higher level globally, in this study, the objective is to address and resolve the issue of high costs associated with using cloud services by utilising a local Data Center (a large group of networked computer servers typically used by organizations for the remote storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data). This approach involves directly uploading 3D maps to ensure faster service on the intranet, eliminating the need to pay for cloud *** aims providing a platform for researching and implementing monitoring and controlling processes in a more convenient and remote manner. The vGIS platform has emerged as a crucial instrument in the realm of disaster response and crisis management. This technology enables responders to rapidly evaluate, analyse, and respond to crucial information in real-time. In the past few years,social media and online news platforms have played an essential role in distributing news content *** of the authenticity of news has become a major *** the COVID-19 outbreak,misinformation and fake news were major sources of confusion and insecurity among the general *** the first quarter of the year 2020,around 800 people died due to fake news relevant to *** major goal of this research was to discover the best learning model for achieving high accuracy and performance.A novel case study of the Fake News Classification using ELECTRA model,which achieved 85.11%accuracy score,is thus reported in this *** addition to that,a new novel dataset called COVAX-Reality containing COVID-19 vaccine-related news has been *** the COVAX-Reality dataset,the performance of FNEC is compared to several traditional learning models i.e.,Support Vector Machine(SVM),Naive Bayes(NB),Passive Aggressive Classifier(PAC),Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM),Bi-directional LSTM(Bi-LSTM)and Bi-directional Encoder Representations from Transformers(BERT).For the evaluation of FNEC,standard metrics(Precision,Recall,Accuracy,and F1-Score)were utilized.

Automatic person identification (API) using human biometrics is essential and highly demanded compared to traditional API methods, where a person is automatically identified using his/her distinct characteristics including speech, fingerprint, iris, handwritten signatures, and others. The fusion of more than one human biometric produces bimodal and multimodal API systems that normally outperform single modality systems. This paper presents our work towards fusing speech and handwritten signatures for developing a bimodal API system, where fusion was conducted at the decision level due to the differences in the type and format of the features extracted. A data set is created that contains recordings of usernames and handwritten signatures of 100 persons (50 males and 50 females), where each person recorded his/her username 30 times and provided his/her handwritten signature 30 times. Consequently, a total of 3000 utterances and 3000 handwritten signatures were collected. The speech API used Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) technique for features extraction and Vector Quantization (VQ) for features training and classification. On the other hand, the handwritten signatures API used global features for reflecting the structure of the hand signature image such as image area, pure height, pure width and signature height and the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) architecture of Artificial Neural Network for features training and classification. Once the best matches for both the speech and the handwritten signatures API are produced, the fusion process takes place at decision level. It computes the difference between the two best matches for each modality and selects the modality of the maximum difference. Based on our experimental results, the bimodal API obtained an average recognition rate of 96.40%, whereas the speech API and the handwritten signatures API obtained average recognition rates of 92.60% and 75.20%, respectively. Bidirectional attentional mechanism for Arabic chatbot

A chatbot is an intelligent agent that developed based on Natural language processing (NLP) to interact with people in a natural language. The development of multiple deep NLP models has allowed for the creation of a vector representation of words and sentences that captures meaning in context. In this paper, a generative Arabic chatbot is trained with the Sequence to Sequence (Seq2Seq) model based on encoder-decoder architecture. It utilizes both the bi-directional encoder types of Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). The chatbot was trained using preprocessed dataset of 12 k conversations that were translated from English to Arabic. An attention layer was provided to the RNNs to focus on the important data between the input and output sequences. The obtained results showed that the proposed chatbot performed well with long sentences and elicited positive responses. In addition to that BiLSTM with attention performs better than BiGRU without attention. To assess the model, the Bilingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) Score is employed. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

MLMO-HSM: Multi-label Multi-output Hybrid Sequential Model for multi-resident smart home activity recognition

Smart home automation is protective and preventive measures that are taken to monitor elderly people in a non-intrusive manner using simple and pervasive sensors termed Ambient Assistive Living. The smart home produces a large volume of sensor activations to predict an elder’s health status to improve the quality of life and independent living. Machine learning techniques are very familiar and popular in recognizing single resident activities using such a sensor reading. However, multi-resident activities are more complex, and no correlation exists between sensor readings and activities. Recently deep learning and graphical models have been proposed to solve this problem, but it consumes more time to train the model. Moreover, models are primarily executed in parallel, or multi-resident activity recognition has been converted to single for classifying events. This paper proposes a Multi-label Multi-output Hybrid Sequential Model (MLMO-HSM), a feature engineering approach with a hybrid sequential model to recognize the multi-resident activities concurrently in the shortest time. Experimentation has been performed with various machine learning, graphical and deep learning models at the different sizes of the ARAS dataset to validate the efficiency of the proposed model in terms of activity recognition and computation time. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Tomato leaf diseases significantly impact crop production,necessitating early detection for sustainable *** Learning(DL)has recently shown excellent results in identifying and classifying tomato leaf ***,current DL methods often require substantial computational resources,hindering their application on resource-constrained *** propose the Deep Tomato Detection Network(DTomatoDNet),a lightweight DL-based framework comprising 19 learnable layers for efficient tomato leaf disease classification to overcome *** Convn kernels used in the proposed(DTomatoDNet)framework is 1×1,which reduces the number of parameters and helps in more detailed and descriptive feature extraction for *** proposed DTomatoDNet model is trained from scratch to determine the classification success rate.10,000 tomato leaf images(1000 images per class)from the publicly accessible dataset,covering one healthy category and nine disease categories,are utilized in training the proposed DTomatoDNet *** specifically,we classified tomato leaf images into Target Spot(TS),Early Blight(EB),Late Blight(LB),Bacterial Spot(BS),Leaf Mold(LM),Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus(YLCV),Septoria Leaf Spot(SLS),Spider Mites(SM),Tomato Mosaic Virus(MV),and Tomato Healthy(H).The proposed DTomatoDNet approach obtains a classification accuracy of 99.34%,demonstrating excellent accuracy in differentiating between tomato *** model could be used on mobile platforms because it is lightweight and designed with fewer *** farmers can utilize the proposed DTomatoDNet methodology to detect disease more quickly and easily once it has been integrated into mobile platforms by developing a mobile application.

Modeling the Percentage of NEET in Indonesia with Spatial Cauchy Regression through the Bayesian Analysis Approach

Indonesia has entered a period of demographic bonus. Human resources must be optimized. The number of children who do not in employment, education or training (NEET) in each province needs attention. Several factors that could contribute to the decline in the NEET percentage are literacy rates and the number of adolescents with computer skills. Increasing these two factors is believed to be able to reduce the percentage of NEET in every province in Indonesia. To find out the relationship between these two factors and how much influence they have on the percentage of NEET, this research is modeled by Cauchy regression and includes spatial effects. The results of the analysis show that the best model is when the spatial effect is modeled by Fernandez Steel Skew Normal conditionally autoregressive (FSSN CAR). This result is seen from the smallest value of the Watanabe Akaike information Criterion (WAIC) in this model, which is 190.5. The parameter estimated shows that the higher the literacy rate and the number of adolescents with computer skills, the lower the percentage of NEET in each province in Indonesia. The results of this research can be useful for the Indonesian government to increase the number of educational facilities related to these two factors. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). In this paper, we introduce InternVL 1.5, an open-source multimodal large language model(MLLM) to bridge the capability gap between open-source and proprietary commercial models in multimodal understanding. We introduce three simple improvements.(1) Strong vision encoder: we explored a continuous learning strategy for the large-scale vision foundation model — InternViT-6B, boosting its visual understanding capabilities, and making it can be transferred and reused in different LLMs.(2) Dynamic high-resolution: we divide images into tiles ranging from 1 to 40 of 448×448 pixels according to the aspect ratio and resolution of the input images, which supports up to 4K resolution input.(3) High-quality bilingual dataset: we carefully collected a high-quality bilingual dataset that covers common scenes, document images,and annotated them with English and Chinese question-answer pairs, significantly enhancing performance in optical character recognition(OCR) and Chinese-related tasks. We evaluate InternVL 1.5 through a series of benchmarks and comparative studies. Compared to both open-source and proprietary commercial models, InternVL 1.5 shows competitive performance, achieving state-of-the-art results in 8 of 18 multimodal benchmarks.
