The conventional approach to manual inspection can be described by its considerable time and labor demands and the unavoidable occurrence of human error when faced with the inspection of a large number of products. Therefore, the application of an automated visual inspection system is frequently employed. The camera(s) can easily capture visual features for automatic visual inspection. However, it is essential to note that there are limitations when using this method to estimate the size-based grading system. The volume measurement is an essential feature in the field of automatic image analysis for fruit and vegetable grading, specifically guava. In this study, we propose a novel image analysis approach that utilizes a dual-view camera system to enhance the accuracy of volume approximation, particularly in scenarios involving non-perfect spherical objects. Hence, this research presents the training process of a comprehensive model for estimating the volume of objects with irregular shapes, named AVIG (Automatic Visual Inspection for Grading). The model utilizes the ellipsoid approximation technique, a dual-view camera, and XGBoost algorithm. The results from the accuracy comparison demonstrate that XGBoost shows the highest degree of accuracy, specifically 86%, thereby outperforming the performance of other algorithms. The comprehensive experiment conducted in this study has shown that the proposed architecture, AVIG, exhibits superior performance compared to previous research in terms of automatic evaluation of moving objects. © 2023 ACM.

Offsets Reconstruction Method for Clock Skew Measurement Over High-Jitter Communication

Measuring clock skew of devices over a network fully relies on the offsets, the differences between sending and receiving times. Offsets that shape a thick line are the most ideal one as their slope is directly the clock skew sought. When some outliers separate from the thick line due to higher delay jitter, current advanced approaches use the lower bound or the majority of offsets to derive accurate clock skew. However, outliers in offsets that shape parallel dotted lines, reduce the availability of offsets in the lower region, and scatter widely the offsets from their majority zone. These conditions drive the current skew estimation approaches to lose their accuracy. This paper then developed a new method, which reconstructs back the outliers into their origin positions, in order to provide ideal offsets for clock skew measurement. The experimental evaluations have demonstrated that the clock skew accuracy of dotted-lines offsets tampered by outliers was improved from 2.1 to 0.9 ppm by the proposed reconstruction method. For a broader purpose, the reconstruction method has been adjusted to be implemented also on non-dotted-lines offsets. The robustness of the proposed method for this case has also been exhibited by the very ideal reconstructed offsets that shape like a thick line. © The Author(s) 2025.

Next Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendation has become a crucial task in Location-Based Social Networks (LBSNs), which provide personalized recommendations by predicting the user’s next check-in locations. Commonly used models including Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) have been widely explored. However, these models face significant challenges, including the difficulty of capturing the hierarchical and tree-like structure of POIs in Euclidean space and the sparsity problem inherent in POI recommendations. To address these challenges, we propose a Hyperbolic Variational Graph Auto-Encoder (HVGAE) for next POI recommendation. Specifically, we utilize a Hyperbolic Graph Convolutional Network (Hyperbolic GCN) to model hierarchical structures and tree-like relationships by converting node embeddings from euclidean space to hyperbolic space. Then we use Variational Graph Auto-Encoder (VGAE) to convert node embeddings to probabilistic distributions, enhancing the capture of deeper latent features and providing a more robust model structure. Furthermore, we combine the Mamba4Rec recommender and Rotary Position Embedding (RoPE) and propose Rotary Position Mamba (RPMamba) to effectively utilize POI embeddings rich in sequential information, which improves the accuracy of the next POI recommendation. Extensive experiments on three public datasets demonstrate the superior performance of the HVGAE model. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The availability of technology and the expansive nature of the internet have created a surge in the demand for online learning. Despite so many advantages, there are some existing drawbacks related to online learning. The lengthy recorded video lectures of different subjects and modules in a static manner, are extremely tedious for the learner to understand the contents available. and lack of assistance for academic-related problems of students is also stated as a major issue that comes with online education. EDUZONE provides a reliable solution to mitigate and overcome these challenges. This tool is educational assistance that generates a summarized version of the video lectures which depicts the overall idea of the whole video with the capability of a lecture notes generator along with a digital human which helps to clarify students' problems and build an efficient conversational flow. The summarized video content can be used by the learners for revisions and as a quick reference before any examinations. In addition to generating short and precise content, EDUZONE also indexes any specific topics to make it easier to find content and generate class notes, highlighting all the important content. Overall EDUZONE can be considered a time-efficient educational assistant which helps students with their studies. © 2022 IEEE.

IoT is an important technology for Agriculture. When it comes to machine learning-based decisions related to agriculture the farmers can take precise decisions according to the sensor data collected from IoT. But most people who live in urban areas of Sri Lanka were adopted to agriculture because of COVID 19 pandemic situation. So most of the people have limited space for gardening, and newcomers haven't proper knowledge of what are the crops suitable for their area of garden space and relevant instructions to grow the crops which they like and environment factors needed. And they haven't understood the type of fertilizers that need for the crop. Almost nowadays people haven't much time for watering and care the plants that they like to grow in their garden. Garden Pro Android Application had introduced a feature Machine Learning based crop recommendation system for newcomers to home gardening. By using this feature of the app user can get an idea about crops that are suitable for their garden area, gardening instructions. And soil moisture also fertilizers and the application shows real-time temperature, soil moisture, and humidity, water level required for the crop that collected from IoT sensors and additionally the 3D View of the plants that predicted according to the soil conditions visualize to the user by Augmented reality technology. © 2022 IEEE.

this paper discusses the capacity of artificial intelligence (AI)-pushed structures for automating records technological know-how duties including records cleaning, function engineering, and version improvement. We argue that those systems provide a promising opportunity to automate the hard work-extensive and time-ingesting venture of data technological know-how, enabling records scientists to recognition on the more creative factors of the paintings. We begin by using offering a brief evaluation of AI and its capacity packages after which study the existing AI-driven data technology gear on the market. We then describe a few revolutionary applications of AI and discuss their capability to improve existing facts technology approaches. Ultimately, we talk the demanding situations and barriers of AI-driven structures and advocate approaches to address them. We finish by using emphasizing the importance of responsibly integrating AI into the statistics science field and highlighting the capacity of collaboration between AI and facts technological know-how specialists. © 2023 IEEE.

Rainfall plays a significant role in managing the water level in the *** unpredictable amount of rainfall due to the climate change can cause either overflow or dry in the *** individuals,especially those in the agricultural sector,rely on rain *** rainfall is challenging because of the changing nature of the *** area of Jimma in southwest Oromia,Ethiopia is the subject of this research,which aims to develop a rainfall forecasting *** estimate Jimma's daily rainfall,we propose a novel approach based on optimizing the parameters of long short-term memory(LSTM)using Al-Biruni earth radius(BER)optimization algorithm for boosting the fore-casting accuracy.N ash-Sutcliffe model eficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),root MSE(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R2 were all used in the conducted experiments to assess the proposed approach,with final scores of(0.61),(430.81),(19.12),and(11.09),***,we compared the proposed model to current machine-learning regression models;such as non-optimized LSTM,bidirectional LSTM(BiLSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM).It was found that the proposed approach achieved the lowest RMSE of(19.12).In addition,the experimental results show that the proposed model has R-with a value outperforming the other models,which confirms the superiority of the proposed *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance and stability of the proposed approach and the recorded results proved the expected perfomance.

:Social media data are rapidly increasing and constitute a source of user opinions and tips on a wide range of products and *** increasing availability of such big data on biased reviews and blogs creates challenges for customers and businesses in reviewing all content in their decision-making *** overcome this challenge,extracting suggestions from opinionated text is a possible *** this study,the characteristics of suggestions are analyzed and a suggestion mining extraction process is presented for classifying suggestive sentences from online customers’reviews.A classification using a word-embedding approach is used via the XGBoost *** two datasets used in this experiment relate to online hotel reviews and Microsoft Windows App Studio discussion reviews.F1,precision,recall,and accuracy scores are *** results demonstrated that the XGBoost classifier outperforms—with an accuracy of more than 80%.Moreover,the results revealed that suggestion keywords and phrases are the predominant features for suggestion ***,this study contributes to knowledge and practice by comparing feature extraction classifiers and identifying XGBoost as a better suggestion mining process for identifying online reviews.

Relating university students’ online self-regulated English learning to motivational beliefs: a structural equation modelling analysis

This study investigated university students’ online self-regulated English learning (OSEL) and related it to their motivational beliefs in order to probe important psychological factors that may predict how students use self-regulated strategies to facilitate their online English learning. The data was gathered from 337 Thai university nursing students. The instruments used in this study were validated to measure motivational beliefs and OSEL in the context of Thai university students. All motivational belief factors were significantly associated with OSEL. The results of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) indicated that the construct validity of the questionnaire items was acceptable. Furthermore, the structural modelling analysis (SEM) showed that intrinsic value and cost were significant predictors of all OSEL strategies, namely, behavioural strategies, goal setting, and environment structuring. Meanwhile, academic self-efficacy and attainment value were positively related to certain OSEL factors. Implications for enhancing students’ motivation and self-regulation in online language learning as well as directions for further investigations are discussed. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The recognition of the Arabic characters is a crucial task incomputer vision and Natural Language Processing fields. Some major complicationsin recognizing handwritten texts include distortion and patternvariabilities. So, the feature extraction process is a significant task in NLPmodels. If the features are automatically selected, it might result in theunavailability of adequate data for accurately forecasting the character ***, many features usually create difficulties due to high dimensionality *** this background, the current study develops a Sailfish Optimizer withDeep Transfer Learning-Enabled Arabic Handwriting Character Recognition(SFODTL-AHCR) model. The projected SFODTL-AHCR model primarilyfocuses on identifying the handwritten Arabic characters in the inputimage. The proposed SFODTL-AHCR model pre-processes the input imageby following the Histogram Equalization approach to attain this *** Inception with ResNet-v2 model examines the pre-processed image toproduce the feature vectors. The Deep Wavelet Neural Network (DWNN)model is utilized to recognize the handwritten Arabic characters. At last,the SFO algorithm is utilized for fine-tuning the parameters involved in theDWNNmodel to attain better performance. The performance of the proposedSFODTL-AHCR model was validated using a series of images. Extensivecomparative analyses were conducted. The proposed method achieved a maximum accuracy of 99.73%. The outcomes inferred the supremacy of theproposed SFODTL-AHCR model over other approaches.
