As the Internet of Things(IoT)continues to expand,incorporating a vast array of devices into a digital ecosystem also increases the risk of cyber threats,necessitating robust defense *** paper presents an innovative hybrid deep learning architecture that excels at detecting IoT threats in real-world *** proposed model combines Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN),Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(BLSTM),Gated Recurrent Units(GRU),and Attention mechanisms into a cohesive *** integrated structure aims to enhance the detection and classification of complex cyber threats while accommodating the operational constraints of diverse IoT *** evaluated our model using the RT-IoT2022 dataset,which includes various devices,standard operations,and simulated *** research’s significance lies in the comprehensive evaluation metrics,including Cohen Kappa and Matthews Correlation Coefficient(MCC),which underscore the model’s reliability and predictive *** model surpassed traditional machine learning algorithms and the state-of-the-art,achieving over 99.6%precision,recall,F1-score,False Positive Rate(FPR),Detection Time,and accuracy,effectively identifying specific threats such as Message Queuing Telemetry Transport(MQTT)Publish,Denial of Service Synchronize network packet crafting tool(DOS SYN Hping),and Network Mapper Operating System Detection(NMAP OS DETECTION).The experimental analysis reveals a significant improvement over existing detection systems,significantly enhancing IoT security *** our experimental analysis,we have demonstrated a remarkable enhancement in comparison to existing detection systems,which significantly strength-ens the security standards of *** model effectively addresses the need for advanced,dependable,and adaptable security solutions,serving as a symbol of the power of deep learning in strengthening IoT ecosystems amidst the constantly evolving cyber threat *** achievemen

A Security Model of Multihospital FHIR Database Authorization Based on Secret Sharing and Blockchain

Secret sharing (SS) is a threshold technology that shares a secret value by generating and distributing n shares in the way that a set of any k shares can recover the secret. On the other hand, blockchain is a decentralized system establishing a secure data structure for storing data in the form of a hash chain. Combining SS and blockchain is definitely a promising paradigm in the data security field. Recently, the fast healthcare interoperability resources (FHIRs) standard is defined for medical data exchange across various medical institutions. In this article, we combine SS, ElGamal's encryption/decryption, and blockchain to propose a multihospital FHIR database authorization (MFDA). To achieve a secure MFDA, the group-based SS (GSS) and the notion using GSS on exponent (referred to as EGSS) are proposed. The secrets of GSS and EGSS have the discrete logarithm problem (DLP) relation, on which the secrets can be used as ElGamal's private key and public key, respectively. Also, their shares will have DLP relation. By uploading public shares of EGSS on blockchain and using private shares of GSS in a private network, we can recover ElGamal's public key from a deployed smart contract on blockchain and recover ElGamal's private key from a qualified set. Meantime, when recovering private key, the private shares of GSS can be authenticated by public shares on blockchain to check tampering and corrupted of private shares during the communication in a private network. Theorems, examples, and experiments demonstrate that the proposed MFDA has efficient and secure database authorization. © 2014 IEEE.

Contemporarily numerous analysts labored in the field of Vehicle detection which improves Intelligent Transport System(ITS)and reduces road *** major obstacles in automatic detection of tiny vehicles are due to occlusion,environmental conditions,illumination,view angles and variation in size of *** research centers on tiny and partially occluded vehicle detection and identification in challenging scene specifically in crowed *** this paper we present comprehensive methodology of tiny vehicle detection using Deep Neural Networks(DNN)namely *** DNN disregards objects that are small in size 5 pixels and more false positives likely to happen in crowded *** there are two categories of deep learning models single-step and two-step.A single forward pass model is the one in which detection is performed directly to possible location over dense sampling,wherein two-step models incorporated by Region proposals followed by object *** in this research scrutinize one-step State of the art(SOTA)model CenteNet as proposed recently with three different feature extractor ResNet-50,HourGlass-104 and ResNet-101 one by *** train our model on challenging KITTI dataset which outperforms in comparison with SOTA single-step technique MSSD300∗which depicts performance improvement by 20.2%mAPandSMOKEby with 13.2%mAP *** of CenterNet can be justified through the huge improved *** performance of our model is evaluated on KITTI(Karlsruhe Institute of technology and Toyota Technological Institute)benchmark dataset with different backbones such as ResNet-50 gives 62.3%mAP ResNet-10182.5%mAP,last but not the least HourGlass-104 outperforms with 98.2%mAP CenterNet-HourGlass-104 achieved high mAP among above mentioned feature *** also compare our model with other SOTA techniques.

Paper and board for printing commonly contains optical brightening agents that fluoresce in the presence of UV radiation, making the prints appear brighter and bluer. If the relative amount of optical brightening agents (OBAs) is not consistent between proof and print, and the UV content of measurement and the viewing illumination differs, there will be a colorimetric difference between proof and print. Colour management workflows are normally media-relative, and visual adaptation to the media white can conflict with the goals of colorimetric matching. The impact of UV content in measurement and viewing illumination on the visual acceptability of colour reproductions was investigated in a series of psychophysical experiments, using substrates with varying OBA concentrations and a media-relative colour reproduction workflow. The results showed that visual acceptability was largely unaffected by UV content of measurement or viewing illumination, suggesting that visual adaptation to media white discounts the effect of fluorescence. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Unstructured Numerical Image Dataset Separation (UNIDS) method employing an enhanced unsupervised clustering technique. The objective is to delineate an optimal number of distinct groups within the input grayscale (G-S) image content, utilizing the improved limited iteration agglomerative clustering (iLIAC) clustering technique for the separation and enhancement of picture elements. The UNIDS method is structured into two primary stages: partitioning and validation. In the partitioning stage, the UNIDS method identifies an appropriate number of discrete clusters within the grayscale image using the iLIAC technique, eliminating the need for predetermined procedures. Subsequently, the method evaluates the similarity and deviation among data elements within the same group in the resultant image dataset. Additionally, it assesses the proximity and inters severance among clusters in the outcome of the image dataset through the partitioning process. Empirical results indicate that the UNIDS system excels in the spontaneous identification of an optimal number of discrete clusters within the input G-S image. The system demonstrates superior thickness, reduced deviation among data elements within the same cluster, increased inter-separation, and diminished inter-closeness between cluster elements. Furthermore, empirical analysis establishes the superior performance of the UNIDS approach compared to existing clustering techniques. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Monitoring sugar concentration during fermentation is crucial for producing high-quality alcoholic beverages. Traditional methods for measuring sugar concentration can be costly and time-consuming, especially for small-scale producers. In this study, we developed a low-cost buoyant force measurement device for monitoring sugar concentration in water solutions. The device consists of a buoyant object fully submerged in the solution and connected to a load-cell sensor. As the sugar concentration in the liquid increases, the buoyant force on the object increases, and the load-cell measures this force. Proposed device is calibrated using solutions of known sugar concentrations and its high accuracy and precision is presented. The device is tested in controlled environment to ensure accurate tracking changes in sugar concentration over time. Proposed device can be a valuable tool for small-scale producers looking to optimize their fermentation processes while minimizing costs. © 2023 IEEE.

The evaluation of generative models in Machine Reading Comprehension (MRC) presents distinct difficulties, as traditional metrics like BLEU, ROUGE, METEOR, Exact Match, and F1 score often struggle to capture the nuanced and diverse responses. While embedding-based metrics such as BERTScore and BARTScore focus on semantic similarity, they still fail to fully address aspects such as recognizing additional helpful information and rewarding contextual faithfulness. Recent advances in large language model (LLM) based metrics offer more fine-grained evaluations, but challenges such as score clustering remain. This paper introduces a multi-aspect evaluation framework, CHIE, incorporating aspects of Correctness, Helpfulness, Irrelevance, and Extraneousness. Our approach, which uses binary categorical values rather than continuous rating scales, aligns well with human judgments, indicating its potential as a comprehensive and effective evaluation method. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

The internet of things technology has developed almost all the sectors including energy management. In traditional energy management system meters are used to recording the number of units and electricity used but they are unable to provide the real time information or updates or any theft of electricity. By focusing this problem, we have developed a system which is able to overcome all the problems in traditional electric management system. It monitors the energy usage and real time theft detection of electricity as it cost lot of money. In our system we have used a current sensor which continuously checks the electricity flow. The microcontroller measures the actual energy usage as well as expected values. It compares both the values. If a big difference found, then it could mean the theft of electricity. So, the GSM module is used to send the alert to the user hence they can take required action. The Wi-Fi module sends the data over the cloud for data analytics. Also, user can see the real time data from the cloud platform. Hence user can track the energy usage and get timely alerts so that user can be aware of energy consumption or energy theft. The system is developed by setting up hardware parts as well as integration with software. The system can be operated or monitored from remote place, as Wi-Fi module connects the system with the internet. System can detect the unusual activities like theft of electricity by analyzing the data. Using the IoT technology for energy management, it can become cost effective as well as smart solution of energy management to avoid any theft. Hence it can overcome the loss. © 2024 IEEE.

Mental diseases, mental disorders, or psychological disorders is a large group of symptoms which causes changes to the state of mood and reflect this on the behavior of the person with the mental disorder. It affects the patient's way of thinking, which limits his ability to perform his simple daily needs, and thus, becomes a burden on the individual, and on the surrounding society as well. There are common types of mental disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. In this research, two main objectives are considered. The first objective is determining which is the best classifier for predicting a person's mental disorder among six well-known classifiers. The second objective is determining what is the best feature selection technique to use with mental disorders datasets considering six popular techniques, and with respect to several evaluation metrics. The results revealed that Logistic Regression and Naïve Bayes are the two best classification models, while Info Gain Ratio is the best feature selection method. © 2024 IEEE.

Counting the turning movements in a four-leg roundabout is a challenging task and often executed by vehicle recognition and tracking on traffic videos. In order to obtain accurately all the 12 flow values of the origin-destination (O-D) matrix we need to measure arbitrary chosen 12 linearly independent flow values. However, the larger the area to be observed the more cameras are needed because the good pixel resolution of the vehicles and the proper camera inclination angles are essential. Here we propose a novel measuring scheme, which observes only two roundabout legs instead of observing all the four, as a result obtaining all the 12 flow values requires a reduced number of cameras. The directly measured flow values and the mathematical method of determining the O-D matrix are given in details. © 2025 Budapest University of technology and Economics. All rights reserved.
