A proposed framework for crop yield prediction using hybrid feature selection approach and optimized machine learning

Accurately predicting crop yield is essential for optimizing agricultural practices and ensuring food security. However, existing approaches often struggle to capture the complex interactions between various environmental factors and crop growth, leading to suboptimal predictions. Consequently, identifying the most important feature is vital when leveraging Support Vector Regressor (SVR) for crop yield prediction. In addition, the manual tuning of SVR hyperparameters may not always offer high accuracy. In this paper, we introduce a novel framework for predicting crop yields that address these challenges. Our framework integrates a new hybrid feature selection approach with an optimized SVR model to enhance prediction accuracy efficiently. The proposed framework comprises three phases: preprocessing, hybrid feature selection, and prediction phases. In preprocessing phase, data normalization is conducted, followed by an application of K-means clustering in conjunction with the correlation-based filter (CFS) to generate a reduced dataset. Subsequently, in the hybrid feature selection phase, a novel hybrid FMIG-RFE feature selection approach is proposed. Finally, the prediction phase introduces an improved variant of Crayfish Optimization Algorithm (COA), named ICOA, which is utilized to optimize the hyperparameters of SVR model thereby achieving superior prediction accuracy along with the novel hybrid feature selection approach. Several experiments are conducted to assess and evaluate the performance of the proposed framework. The results demonstrated the superior performance of the proposed framework over state-of-art approaches. Furthermore, experimental findings regarding the ICOA optimization algorithm affirm its efficacy in optimizing the hyperparameters of SVR model, thereby enhancing both prediction accuracy and computational efficiency, surpassing existing algorithms. © The Author(s) 2024.

Due to the importance security of sensitive speech and audio signals such as the countries president’s call phone, this research work presents an efficient audio cryptosystem. Audio speech communications play main and essential role in the human daily life, covering many important fields ranging from simple personal private information up to top secret, sensitive and critical information. It is difficult to prevent the eavesdropping by unauthorized person especially 1-D audio scrambling methods, it is built by simple algorithms and has low security level. So, there is a dire need for enhancing audio cryptosystem to be more secure against different types of attacks. In this work, the enhanced audio cryptosystem is proposed, the first approach enhances multiple key audio cryptosystem utilizing the chaotic baker map through enhancing the confusion level for both encryption/decryption algorithms employing time and transform domains. Simulation experiments revealed that the proposed boosted audio cryptosystem on time and transform domains is secure and robust against different types of attacks. The boosted multiple key based audio crypto-system is performed by increasing confusion and enlarging the secret-key space. Results of the simulation experiments revealed that the proposed multiple secret key-enhanced confusion audio cryptosystem is secure and robust with respect to different types of attacks. Moreover, results for transform domains show better results than results for time domain for the three proposed boosted audio cryptosystem. Also, the third proposed audio cryptosystem DWT-based shows the best results among all other proposed audio cryptosystem. Safety of railway is the major problem worldwide. It has problems like cracks or any fault in the railway tracks. These problems can cause severe accidents if it is not detected regularly and early. In traditional fault finding and crack detecting method, the manual method is involved which is very slow and consist of many errors. By considering all these challenges and issues in track detection method, we have implemented an advanced IoT based railway crack and fault-finding system. It uses advanced sensors, microcontroller, GPS and GSM module which can detect and report faults of the railway track. The system uses real time mechanism. The system is implemented and tested on a prototype railway track to detect crack or any fault. The internet of things technology added modern and accurate fault-finding feature in the system. The IoT plays an important role in implementing advance technologies, as it uses sensors and advance microcontroller. The accuracy rate of fault and crack detection is around 97%, which is for 2 mm crack. Along with this GPS module accurately track fault location. GSM module successfully send the alert message quickly after detecting the fault in the track. Hence the response time is very less and accurate. This system is implemented in order to ensure safety for the railway track and prevent the accidents. Hence the system is useful for improving overall transport safety. © 2024 IEEE.

Large language models (LLMs) have significantly impacted natural language processing (NLP), healthcare, and beyond fields. LLMs have demonstrated unprecedented abilities to understand and generate human-like text, making them highly valuable for various tasks, including information retrieval, question-answering, and conversational AI. However, as these models are integrated into real-world applications, especially in sensitive domains such as healthcare, it becomes essential to evaluate their performance comprehensively. We present a process for fine-tuning LLMs to incorporate cardiac exercise and corpus of well-being activity, aiming to promote activity health support through NLP-driven applications. Using QLoRA, you can ensure that the model size remains small and reduce overhead while maintaining the high performance of the fine-tuned model. Subsequently, this paper presents a comparative analysis benchmark pipeline to evaluate fine-tuned models with base models on standard benchmark datasets from the healthcare domain. The aim is to evaluate the performance, robustness and accuracy of these models, showing that the fine-tuning process does not degrade the model performance, but improves the performance to some extent in some benchmarks. © 2025 IEEE.

In social networks groups play a crucial role and making decisions based on majority consensus. Which influencer nodes should we select if our goal is to broadcast a subject in a target group and increase the number of active nodes in this group? Here, we study a new influence maximization (IM) problem that focuses on individuals in a target group who are activated by some relevant topic or information. Target Group Influence Maximization (TGIM) aims to select k influencer nodes in such a way that the number of activated nodes in the target group is maximized. In this paper, we study TGIM and focus on activating the majority of nodes in the target group. We propose an algorithm named Reinforcement Learning for Target Group (RLTG) based on the analysis of the influence of nodes on the target group. The algorithm uses the reinforcement learning approach to learn the optimal path from each target node to some candidate influencers. The experimental results indicate that the recommended approach outperforms known methods. © 2024 IEEE.

In the past few years, image processing has been widely adopted for symptom diagnosis of medical application. To achieve accurate analysis, the medical applications require high quality image for applying to the symptom diagnosis applications. However, the medical image quality may drop due to the imperfection of devices and the environment. Noise is one of the most critical factors that reduces the image quality where the noise may form by combining two types of noises. In this paper, we considered four well-known mixed noise filters including TF, BM3D, NCSR and OSBF filters. Since the OSBF filter is the alternative version of SBF filter that requires to determine the optimal weights, therefore we first determine the optimal weights for the medical image under the combination of Gaussian noise and salt-and-pepper noise. Then, we evaluate the filtering performance under three metrics including PSNR, SSIM and filtering time. As a result, OSBF filter achieves the best filtering performance since it can reduce the noise effect, preserve image details and consumes the short filtering time. On the other hand, the filtering performance of the TF filter suffers from the combining of salt-and-pepper noise. © 2024 IEEE.

Navigating the world with visual impairments presents unique challenges, often limiting independence and safety. This research introduces SafeStride, a novel algorithm designed to empower visually impaired individuals through real-time obstacle detection and navigation assistance. SafeStride functions through five interconnected phases: sensor data acquisition, data preprocessing, obstacle detection, path planning, and feedback and guidance. A combination of ultrasonic sensors, cameras, and inertial measurement units (IMUs) feed comprehensive environmental data into the system, enabling accurate obstacle detection and safe path planning. Evaluating SafeStride's performance involved the MNIST dataset for image recognition and a dedicated indoor object detection dataset. Additionally, comparisons were made against three deep learning models—convolutional neural network (CNN), long short-term memory (LSTM), and gated recurrent unit (GRU). The results showcased SafeStride's high accuracy and effectiveness in both obstacle detection and classification. Beyond its impressive performance, SafeStride represents a significant leap forward in navigation aids for the visually impaired. By offering a comprehensive solution that enhances safety and independence in diverse environments, it holds immense potential to improve the lives of countless individuals. Future efforts will focus on further optimizing the algorithm and testing its real-world capabilities, paving the way for a future where safe and independent navigation becomes a reality for all. All three deep learning models (CNN, LSTM, GRU) excelled in the experiment, achieving high accuracy above 0.98, strong recall and F1-scores near 0.99, and exceptional AUC-ROC scores exceeding 0.9998. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

The rapid population growth results in a crucial problem in the early detection of diseases inmedical *** all the cancers unveiled,breast cancer is considered the second most severe ***,an exponential rising in death cases incurred by breast cancer is expected due to the rapid population growth and the lack of resources required for performing medical *** recent advances in machine learning could help medical staff in diagnosing diseases as they offer effective,reliable,and rapid responses,which could help in decreasing the death *** this paper,we propose a new algorithm for feature selection based on a hybrid between powerful and recently emerged optimizers,namely,guided whale and dipper throated *** proposed algorithm is evaluated using four publicly available breast cancer *** evaluation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach from the accuracy and speed *** prove the superiority of the proposed algorithm,a set of competing feature selection algorithms were incorporated into the conducted *** addition,a group of statistical analysis experiments was conducted to emphasize the superiority and stability of the proposed *** best-achieved breast cancer prediction average accuracy based on the proposed algorithm is 99.453%.This result is achieved in an average time of 3.6725 s,the best result among all the competing approaches utilized in the experiments.
