The rapid evolution of wireless communication technologies and the increasing demand for multi-functional systems have led to the emergence of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) as a key enabler for future 6G networks. Simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (STAR-RISs) have recently garnered significant attention for their ability to enhance signal coverage and improve system efficiency. This paper investigates a STAR-RIS-assisted ISAC system designed to secure communication for multiple legitimate users (LUs) while safeguarding against multiple eavesdroppers (Eves). By jointly optimizing the base station (BS) transmit beamforming, STAR-RIS transmission and reflection coefficients, and receive filters, the proposed framework aims to maximize the long-term average secrecy rate for all LUs. Constraints are imposed to ensure minimum echo signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) for sensing and meet the achievable rate requirements of LUs. To address the inherent complexity of this non-convex problem, two deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithms are proposed. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed system achieves significant improvements in secrecy rate compared to conventional RIS setups. This work provides a scalable and efficient approach for secure multi-user ISAC systems, making it highly relevant for future 6G networks, smart cities, and IoT applications. © 2025 The Authors.

Bio-inspired algorithms, such as those with regard to collective intelligence and evolutionary algorithms have been increasingly used in social media analytics in recent years. These algorithms have been shown to be effective in many areas, such as sentiment analysis, community identification, and misinformation detection. This paper explains the underlying principles and features of the most recent bio-inspired techniques. The effectiveness of bio-inspired algorithms for the sentiment analysis categorization on Twitter datasets is studied. In this paper, several social media spam detection techniques that are currently in use are tabulated, and detailed study on the use of social media analytics and bio-inspired algorithms to detect misinformation in social media datasets is performed. The findings of the proposed analysis throws light into the efficiency of these algorithms and gaps for more research, which is inevitable to further improve their performance and robustness for misinformation detection. © 2023 IEEE.

Observation points classifier ensemble for high-dimensional imbalanced classification

In this paper,an Observation Points Classifier Ensemble(OPCE)algorithm is proposed to deal with High-Dimensional Imbalanced Classification(HDIC)problems based on data processed using the Multi-Dimensional Scaling(MDS)feature extraction ***,dimensionality of the original imbalanced data is reduced using MDS so that distances between any two different samples are preserved as well as ***,a novel OPCE algorithm is applied to classify imbalanced samples by placing optimised observation points in a low-dimensional data ***,optimization of the observation point mappings is carried out to obtain a reliable assessment of the unknown *** experiments have been conducted to evaluate the feasibility,rationality,and effectiveness of the proposed OPCE algorithm using seven benchmark HDIC data *** results show that(1)the OPCE algorithm can be trained faster on low-dimensional imbalanced data than on high-dimensional data;(2)the OPCE algorithm can correctly identify samples as the number of optimised observation points is increased;and(3)statistical analysis reveals that OPCE yields better HDIC performances on the selected data sets in comparison with eight other HDIC *** demonstrates that OPCE is a viable algorithm to deal with HDIC problems.

The increasing prevalence of manipulated media, particularly deepfake videos, poses significant challenges in distinguishing real from fake content. This paper addresses the issue of detecting deepfake videos using advanced CNN architectures such as EfficientNet-B4 and XceptionNet. The FF++ and Celeb-DF (v2) datasets are used to compare real and fake videos. The methodology involves preprocessing the Celeb- DF dataset by extracting frames and isolating faces, training the models, and evaluating their performance using log loss and Area Under the Curve (AUC) metrics. The study shows that both models are effective in accurately classifying real and fake videos and highlights the importance of continuously updating deepfake detection algorithms in response to evolving deepfake generation techniques. © 2023 IEEE.

Myocarditis is a serious cardiovascular ailment that can lead to severe consequences if not promptly *** is triggered by viral infections and presents symptoms such as chest pain and heart *** detection is crucial for successful treatment,and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging(CMR)is a valuable tool for identifying this ***,the detection of myocarditis using CMR images can be challenging due to low contrast,variable noise,and the presence of multiple high CMR slices per *** overcome these challenges,the approach proposed incorporates advanced techniques such as convolutional neural networks(CNNs),an improved differential evolution(DE)algorithm for pre-training,and a reinforcement learning(RL)-based model for *** this method presented a significant challenge due to the imbalanced classification of the Z-Alizadeh Sani myocarditis dataset from Omid Hospital in *** address this,the training process is framed as a sequential decision-making process,where the agent receives higher rewards/penalties for correctly/incorrectly classifying the minority/majority ***,the authors suggest an enhanced DE algorithm to initiate the backpropagation(BP)process,overcoming the initialisation sensitivity issue of gradient-based methods like back-propagation during the training *** effectiveness of the proposed model in diagnosing myocarditis is demonstrated through experimental results based on standard performance ***,this method shows promise in expediting the triage of CMR images for automatic screening,facilitating early detection and successful treatment of myocarditis.

Blockchain technology has revolutionized many sectors in the past few years. From its application in health care, digital currencies to building smart cities, many sectors have incorporated blockchain based mechanisms to produce better and efficient solutions to many of their long-lasting problems. The technology itself is fast and the reliance of some sectors on it has improved the overall performance of the applications. One of the most important and sought after applications of blockchain is in digital currencies. Cryptocurrencies are used in many different areas now a days and have become the go to investment destination for many individuals. Although blockchain is secured but it has many underlying security issues which need to be addressed to make this emerging technique more reliable. One of the issues with blockchain is double spending or 51% attack in which the miners authenticate suspicious transactions which result in heavy loss. In this paper, a new consensus mechanism called Modified Proof of Stake to defy 51% attack in blockchain is proposed. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a tunable multi-threshold micro-electromechanical inertial switch with adjustable threshold *** demonstrated device combines the advantages of accelerometers in providing quantitative acceleration measurements and g-threshold switches in saving power when in the inactive state upon experiencing acceleration below the *** designed proof-of-concept device with two thresholds consists of a cantilever microbeam and two stationary electrodes placed at different positions in the sensing *** adjustable threshold capability and the effect of the shock duration on the threshold acceleration are analytically investigated using a nonlinear beam *** are shown for the relationships among the applied bias voltage,the duration of shock impact,and the tunable *** fabricated prototypes are tested using a shock-table *** analytical results agree with the experimental *** designed device concept is very promising for the classification of the shock and impact loads in transportation and healthcare applications.

Recently, the internet has created a global community by connecting millions of individuals, devices, and organizations. Unfortunately, internet connectivity is still not available to many people around the world. To provide everyone with internet access, network infrastructures must be expanded, and internet connection costs must be reduced, particularly in developing regions. Therefore, Wireless Community Networks (WCNs) have emerged as a crucial alternative for individuals who lack direct access to internet services provided by traditional internet service providers. This research paper aims to investigate the routing protocols that have been widely employed in WCNs over the past decade. Specifically, it focuses on evaluating the strengths and limitations of these protocols to assess their effectiveness and reliability in establishing optimal routing paths for end-to-end message delivery across the network. A set of recommendations and future directions are proposed to facilitate further research into unresolved challenges related to WCN routing protocols. © (2024) International Association of Engineers. The revolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made transformative changes in all industries. The field of software engineering has great benefit from AI by Automat all process. Applying Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, particularly Deep Neural Network (DNN) models, to project management will transform traditional methodologies to new ways. This work investigates how AI can be used within project management to better allocate resources, estimate time, and predict costs. Data from many recourses used to improve accuracy in project planning, refine how risks are managed, and develop new methods. Data includes real projects portfolio, open-source data, and simulated data. The integration of AI in project management examines project success and client satisfaction. This work shows 99% accuracy for learning and 78% for testing of predicting project success and highlights the need to constantly update methods to effectively use the big potential changes AI can bring to project management. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
