Dissolution kinetics of CaO·2Al_(2)O_(3)(CA_(2))particles in a synthetic CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)steelmaking slag system have been investigated using the high-temperature confocal laser scanning *** of temperature(i.e.,1500,1550,and 1600℃)and slag composition on the dissolution time of CA_(2)particles are investigated,along with the time dependency of the projection area of the particle during the dissolution *** is found that the dissolution rate was enhanced by either an increase in temperature or a decrease in slag ***,a higher ratio of CaO/Al_(2)O_(3)(C/A)leads to an increased dissolution rate of CA_(2)particle at 1600℃.Thermodynamic calculations suggested the dissolution product,i.e.,melilite,formed on the surface of the CA_(2)particle during dissolution in slag with a C/A ratio of 3.8 at 1550℃.Scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry analysis of as-quenched samples confirmed the dissolution path of CA_(2)particles in slags with C/A ratios of 1.8 and 3.8 as well as the melilite formed on the surface of CA_(2)*** formation of this layer during the dissolution process was identified as a hindrance,impeding the dissolution of CA_(2)particle.A valuable reference for designing or/and choosing the composition of top slag for clean steel production is provided,especially using calcium treatment during the secondary refining process.

Carbon dioxide capture and reduction(CCR)process emerges as an efficient catalytic strategy for CO_(2)capture and conversion to valuable chemicals.K-promoted Cu/Al_(2)O_(3)catalysts exhibited promising CO_(2)capture efficiency and highly selective conversion to syngas(CO+H_(2)).The dynamic nature of the Cu-K system at reaction conditions complicates the identification of the catalytically active phase and surface *** present work aims at more precise understanding of the roles of the potassium and copper and the contribution of the metal oxide ***γ-Al_(2)O_(3)guarantees high dispersion and destabilisation of the potassium phase,potassium and copper act synergistically to remove CO_(2)from diluted streams and promote fast regeneration of the active phase for CO_(2)capture releasing CO while passing H_(2).A temperature of 350℃is found necessary to activate H_(2)dissociation and generate the active sites for CO_(2)*** effects of synthesis parameters on the CCR activity are also described by combination of ex-situ characterisation of the materials and catalytic testing.

Despite the growing interest in fast-cha rging solid-state lithium(Li)-metal batteries(SSLMBs),their practical implementation has yet to be achieved,primarily due to an incomplete understanding of the disparate and often conflicting requirements of the bulk electrolyte and the electrode-electrolyte ***,we present a weakly coordinating cationic polymer electrolyte(WCPE) specifically designed to regulate the Li+coordination structure,thereby enabling fast-charging *** WCPE comprises an imidazolium-based polycationic matrix combined with a succinonitrile(SN)-based highconcentration *** conventional neutral polymer matrices,the polycationic matrix in the WCPE competes with Li+for interactions with SN,weakening the original coordination between SN and Li+.This modulation of SN-Li+interaction improves both Li+conductivity of the WCPE(σLi+=1.29mS cm-1) and redox kinetics at the electrode-electrolyte ***,SSLMB cells(comprising LiFePO4cathodes and Li-metal anodes) with the WCPE achieve fast-charging capability(reaching over80% state of charge within 10 min),outperforming those of previously reported polymer electrolytebased SSLMBs.
