Nowadays, the demand for language learning is increasing because people need to communicate with other people belonging to different regions for their business deals, study, etc. During language learning, a lot of pronunciation mistakes occur due to unfamiliarity with a new language and differences in accent. In this paper, we perform speech mistakes analysis using deep feature-based clustering. We proposed two novel methods for speech analysis, one to deal with phonemic errors (confusing phonemes) and the other to deal with the prosodic errors (partially changed pronunciation variation of phones). For accurate and efficient language learning, it is important to learn both phonemic as well as prosodic error corrections. In our first method, we perform speech analysis by combining deep CNN features and clustering algorithm to detect the phonemic errors. We classify the phonemes using K-nearest neighbor, Naïve Bayes, and support vector machine (SVM). We perform experiments on the six most frequently mispronounced confusing pairs of Arabic to handle phonemic errors and achieve an accuracy of 94%. In our second method, we proposed the unsupervised phone variation model (PVM) to detect prosodic errors. In PVM, each phone is extended to represent the different types of pronunciation variation of that phone with different proficiency levels. We use an Arabic dataset of 28 individual phones for speech analysis and provide feedback based on the variation of each phone and achieves an accuracy of 97%. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Charity giving is a fundamental aspect of society, but there are concerns about the accountability and transparency of the donation process. Blockchain technology has emerged as a potential solution, offering a secure and auditable platform for managing charitable contributions. In this paper, we explore the concept of empowering donors through blockchain technology and examine how it can help ensure that contributions reach the right recipients. We review existing literature on the topic and identify key areas for future research, including the development of hybrid blockchain solutions along with the implementation of novel consensus mechanisms. Moreover, providing the idea of decentralized autonomous organizations, self-executing smart contracts, and integration of blockchain with artificial intelligence and Internet of things. By providing a comprehensive overview of the current state of the field and outlining a roadmap for future research, we hope to stimulate further exploration of the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize charity giving, and create a more accountable and transparent system for managing charitable funds. Some research questions are designed for each novel idea. Our analysis suggests that blockchain has the potential to empower donors and ensure that their contributions make a positive impact in the world, but further research is needed to fully realize its potential. © 2023 IEEE.

In era of modern world and technology where everything is digitalized. Cloud computing emerged as one of the fastest growing parts of digital industry. With the Succor of cloud computing models, business accomplishes their objectives with least exertion when contrasted with traditional processing environment. In spite of these compensations, yet security of the information in cloud database is the significant fear in endorsement of cloud. Although several techniques have been proposed such as cryptographic and steganographic approaches, but all of these have some loopholes. Therefore, in this paper new data protection technique based on steganographic encryption is proposed which has less computational time and secure against known plain text and Man-In-Middle Attack. © 2023 IEEE.

Robotic technologies have opened up hundreds of new limitless perspectives for educational reform. We have conducted research to study the impact and outcomes of Robotic teaching in systematic studies, experimental studies, and surveys. The conclusions of this study reveal that educational robots have an impact on children, teachers, and students. We looked into how robots affect children's behavior, learning outcomes, perceptions, and human interactions. The learning efficacy of educational Robot teachers is determined by a variety of factors, including learning outcome, student behavior and mood during class sessions, student reaction, and student involvement during workshops/class participation/quizzes/Q&A sessions. The majority of the research articles we chose were experimental studies, and they all met their objectives, which included teaching mathematical problems, unit conversion problems, teaching English/secondary language, developing analytical, and computational skills, behavior, and attitude development, critical thinking, and improving communication skills. © 2022 IEEE.

This research introduces a novel dual-pathway convolutional neural network (DP-CNN) architecture tailored for robust performance in Log-Mel spectrogram image analysis derived from raw multichannel electromyography signals. The primary objective is to assess the effectiveness of the proposed DP-CNN architecture across three datasets (NinaPro DB1, DB2, and DB3), encompassing both able-bodied and amputee subjects. Performance metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, are employed for comprehensive evaluation. The DP-CNN demonstrates notable mean accuracies of 94.93 ± 1.71% and 94.00 ± 3.65% on NinaPro DB1 and DB2 for healthy subjects, respectively. Additionally, it achieves a robust mean classification accuracy of 85.36 ± 0.82% on amputee subjects in DB3, affirming its efficacy. Comparative analysis with previous methodologies on the same datasets reveals substantial improvements of 28.33%, 26.92%, and 39.09% over the baseline for DB1, DB2, and DB3, respectively. The DP-CNN’s superior performance extends to comparisons with transfer learning models for image classification, reaffirming its efficacy. Across diverse datasets involving both able-bodied and amputee subjects, the DP-CNN exhibits enhanced capabilities, holding promise for advancing myoelectric control. © 2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press.

Prediction Instability in Machine Learning Ensembles

In machine learning ensembles predictions from multiple models are aggregated. Despite widespread use and strong performance of ensembles in applied problems little is known about the mathematical properties of aggregating models and associated consequences for safe, explainable use of such models. In this paper we prove a theorem that shows that any ensemble will exhibit at least one of the following forms of prediction instability. It will either ignore agreement among all underlying models, change its mind when none of the underlying models have done so, or be manipulable through inclusion or exclusion of options it would never actually predict. As a consequence, ensemble aggregation procedures will always need to balance the benefits of information use against the risk of these prediction instabilities. This analysis also sheds light on what specific forms of prediction instability to expect from particular ensemble algorithms;for example popular tree ensembles like random forest, or xgboost will violate basic, intuitive fairness properties. Finally, we show that this can be ameliorated by using consistent models in asymptotic conditions. © 2024, CC BY.

The task of keeping a specific geometric configuration while following a designated path is common in various fields that involve autonomous robots. When done correctly, this approach can result in several advantages, including a reduction in system costs and an increase in system reliability and efficiency, while maintaining the adaptability and flexibility of the system. The concept of maintaining a particular geometric pattern during motion is frequently utilized in different scenarios. For example, unmanned military vehicles must maintain a particular formation to explore and cover terrain during missions. Another example is in 'Smart Highways,' where the traffic system's capacity can be enhanced significantly by having vehicles move in groups at the same speed while maintaining a certain distance between them. This research presents an algorithm that allows a group of self-governing mobile robots to move while maintaining a specific geometric structure. A behavior-based control algorithm is advanced to regulate the movement of these systems. The coordination of the robots within the system is accomplished through the implementation of a leader-follower technique, with virtual leader. © 2023 IEEE.

Depression is a psychiatric condition characterized by a persistent feeling of sadness and diminished interest in significant activities. Diagnosing this health problem is challenging because it relies on several social and physiological factors. The timely identification of depression aids in the prevention of severe outcomes, such as suicide. Early detection of depression levels is crucial to prevent adverse effects and enhance the quality of everyday life. The purpose of this work is to use data preprocessing techniques to create a clean dataset from noisy and incomplete medical data that includes blood biomarker values of patients and then apply data mining techniques to this dataset to predict the degree of depression. Adana Dr. Ekrem Tok Mental Health Hospital supplied the raw data for the study, with consent from the ethics committee. Missing data are completed by filling with the constant value and the most frequent value methods (i.e., 0 and mode values) in the relevant column. The classification of the dataset is performed using AdaBoost, Decision Tree (DT), and Logistic Regression (LR) classifiers, which have been previously used in medical datasets and demonstrated to be effective. The Logistic Regression classifier achieved the highest success rate (Accuracy: 0.541 and weighted F-score: 0.481). © 2024 IEEE.

In the rapidly advancing landscape of intelligent medical technology, high-precision and widely applicable medical image segmentation techniques are pivotal in advancing personalized treatment plans and enhancing patient experiences. To address inherent obstacles, such as complex structures and features that are difficult to capture in segmentation tasks, we first propose a CMH module that merges convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with state space models (e.g., Mamba). This module hierarchically integrates CNN's local priors into the Mamba layer, adeptly capturing specific details of target objects and broader contextual information from different perspectives. Subsequently, we introduce an information fusion module based on Mamba (MIH), aimed at dynamically fusing feature information from different paths and levels to enhance feature expression and discrimination. Building upon the abovementioned modules, we develop an unexplored segmentation model, CMHNet, capable of flexibly capturing feature maps of varying scales and angles from medical images. In the experiments, we present CMHNet's distinguished performance in segmentation tasks through massive experiments on four medical datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

This research presents an enhanced version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which integrates usability and learning objectives to evaluate the effect of adopting virtual laboratories on student performance. Data from 97 participants, gathered via a survey, was used to examine the correlation between perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), and intention to use (IU) concerning their experiences and outcomes with a simulation-based virtual laboratory. A custom questionnaire was designed to assess TAM components, namely PU, PEOU, and IU, specifically in the context of virtual laboratory learning environments. Findings indicate that the integration of specific laboratory learning objectives fosters the creation of a more credible and authentic simulation tool. This, in turn, optimizes the learning process and enhances students' learning outcomes. The refined TAM model provides valuable insights into the determinants of user acceptance of virtual laboratories and offers practical guidance for educators and instructional designers to construct more effective and efficient virtual laboratory environments in educational contexts. © 2023 IEEE.
