Diabetes, a chronic ailment requiring ongoing care and monitoring, has undergone a healthcare shift thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT). Real-time monitoring, individualized treatment plans, and improved patient-provider communication are all features of IoT-based mobile health solutions. This study explores the components, functionalities, benefits, and disadvantages of IoT-based mobile health systems for the management of diabetes. It investigates wearable sensors, smartphone apps, and linked devices like glucose meter and monitors, placing a focus on their precision, dependability, and usability. The study explores data analytics techniques that allow for customized advice and actions. Patients can effectively control their diabetes with the use of individualized treatments and real-time monitoring. The research also looks into the data analytical methods used in IoT-based mobile health systems for the treatment of diabetes. IoT-based mobile health system issues and implications are also covered. These include issues with data security and privacy, platform and device compatibility, standardization of data formats, and ensuring that all people with diabetes have equal access to technology. Healthcare workers, academics, and policymakers may learn more about the potential of IoT-based mobile health systems to revolutionize diabetes treatment through this thorough assessment. © ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2024.

In this paper, we address the problem of automatic clothing parsing in surveillance images using the information from user-generated tags, such as "jeans" and "T-shirt." Although clothing parsing has achieved great success in the fashion domain, it is quite challenging to parse target under practical surveillance conditions due to the presence of complex environmental interference, such as that from low resolution, viewpoint variations and lighting changes. Our method is developed to capture target information from the fashion domain and apply this information to a surveillance domain by weakly supervised transfer learning. Most target tags convey strong location information (e.g., "T-shirt" is always shown in the upper region), which can be used as weak labels for our transfer method. Both quantitative and qualitative experiments conducted on practical surveillance datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed surveillance data enhancing method. © 2020, Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.

In the domain of facial skin treatment, personalization of treatment methods and management of treatment effectiveness among users/patients become the key challenges. Our approach to addressing the challenges is to develop a treatment recommender by utilizing a policy of reinforcement learning and continuously optimizing the policy to learn the variability. We leverage algorithmic decision-making through the Reinforcement Learning (RL) model's policy to personalize recommendations according to the unique characteristics and treatment responses of each user. This RL-based recommender should provide a high performance of personalizing treatment recommendations and continue to learn user-specific effectiveness of treatment methods. Preliminary results demonstrate the system's capacity to provide targeted, effective skin care recommendations, significantly enhancing user satisfaction and adherence to treatments. © 2024 IEEE.

Breast cancer(BC)is the most widespread tumor in females worldwide and is a severe public health *** is the leading reason of death affecting females between the ages of 20 to 59 around the *** detection and therapy can help women receive effective treatment and,as a result,decrease the rate of breast cancer *** cancer tumor develops when cells grow improperly and attack the healthy tissue in the human *** are classified as benign or malignant,and the absence of cancer in the breast is considered *** learning,machine learning,and transfer learning models are applied to detect and identify cancerous tissue like *** research assists in the identification and classification of *** implemented the pre-trained model AlexNet and proposed model Breast cancer identification and classification(BCIC),which are machine learning-based models,by evaluating them in the form of comparative *** used 3 datasets,A,B,and *** fuzzed these datasets and got 2 datasets,A2C and *** A2C is the fusion of A,B,and C with 2 classes categorized as benign and *** B3C is the fusion of datasets A,B,and C with 3 classes classified as benign,malignant,and *** used customized AlexNet according to our datasets and BCIC in our proposed *** achieved an accuracy of 86.5%on Dataset B3C and 76.8%on Dataset A2C by using AlexNet,and we achieved the optimum accuracy of 94.5%on Dataset B3C and 94.9%on Dataset A2C by using proposed model BCIC at 40 epochs with 0.00008 learning *** proposed fuzzed dataset model using transfer *** fuzzed three datasets to get more accurate results and the proposed model achieved the highest prediction accuracy using fuzzed dataset transfer learning technique.

Label correction methods are popular for their simple architecture in learning with noisy labels. However, they suffer severely from false label correction and achieve subpar performance compared with state-of-the-art methods. In this paper, we revisit the label correction methods through theoretical analysis of gradient scaling and demonstrate that the sample-wise dynamic and class-wise uniformity of interpolation weight prevents memorization of the mislabeled samples. We then propose DULC, a simple yet effective label correction method that uses the normalized Jensen-Shannon divergence (JSD) metric as the interpolation weight to promote sample-wise dynamic and class-wise uniformity. Additionally, we provide theoretical evidence that sharpening predictions in label correction facilitates the memorization of true class, and we achieve it by employing the augmentation strategy along with the sharpening function. Extensive experiments on CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, TinyImageNet, WebVision and Clothing1M datasets demonstrate substantial improvements over state-of-the-art methods. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Federated learning is a distributed learning solution that achieves high-quality machine learning models while ensuring privacy and collaboration among various end devices. However, different kinds of end devices can lead to an unstable training process due to limited and dynamic communication and computation resources. Federated Dropout is an important technique for mitigating such resource bottlenecks by randomly removing a fixed percentage of activations of model components. However, most of the existing FL dropout methods cannot effectively utilize the distinguished characteristics of different clients or fail to automatically adapt to end device heterogeneity. In this paper, we thus propose Adaptive Federated Dropout with Reinforcement Learning (AFD-RL). AFD-RL employs reinforcement learning technology to adapt to the clients' unbalanced computation and communication resources and provide a personalized dropout strategy for each client. By automatically selecting suitable model components for each client in each communication round, AFD-RL achieves better accuracy with fewer communication rounds. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in improving training efficiency and inference accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

This study analyzes and predicts air pollution in Asia, focusing on PM 2.5 levels from 2018 to 2023 across five regions: Central, East, South, Southeast, and West Asia. South Asia emerged as the most polluted region, with Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan consistently having the highest PM 2.5 levels and death rates, especially in Nepal, Pakistan, and India. East Asia showed the lowest pollution levels. K-means clustering categorized countries into high, moderate, and low pollution groups. The ARIMA model effectively predicted 2023 PM 2.5 levels (MAE: 3.99, MSE: 33.80, RMSE: 5.81, R : 0.86). The findings emphasize the need for targeted interventions to address severe pollution and health risks in South Asia. © 2025, CC BY.

Named Entity Recognition (NER) is one of the crucial and vital subtasks that must be solved in most Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. However, constructing a NER system for the Sinhala Language is challenging. Because it comes under the category of low-resource languages. Therefore, the proposed approach attempted designing a mechanism to identify specific named entities in the sports domain. Firstly, a domain-specific corpus was built using Sinhala sport e-News articles. Then a semi-automated, rule-based component named as "Class_Label_Suggester" was built to annotate pre-defined named entities. After auto annotation, the outcome was further validated manually with a little effort. Finally, it was trained using the annotated data. Linear Perceptron, Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB), and Passive Aggressive classifiers were used to train the NER model. Though, the above Machine Learning (ML) algorithms showed approximately 98% accuracy, the MNB model demonstrated highest accuracy for the identified class labels of which, 99.76% for 'Ground', 99.53% for 'School', 98.55% for 'Tournament', and 97.87% for 'Other' classes. Additionally, high precision values of the above classes were 81%, 72%, 62%, and 98% respectively. An accurately annotated Sinhala dataset and the trained Sinhala NER model are main contributions of the study. © 2022 IEEE.

Recent years have witnessed remarkable progress in the development of large vision-language models (LVLMs). Benefiting from the strong language backbones and efficient cross-modal alignment strategies, LVLMs exhibit surprising capabilities to perceive visual signals and perform visually grounded reasoning. However, the capabilities of LVLMs have not been comprehensively and quantitatively evaluated. Most existing multi-modal benchmarks require task-oriented input-output formats, posing great challenges to automatically assess the free-form text output of LVLMs. To effectively leverage the annotations available and reduce the manual efforts required for constructing new benchmarks, we propose to re-formulate existing benchmarks into unified LVLM-compatible formats. Through systematic data collection and reformulation, we present ReForm-Eval benchmark, offering substantial data for evaluating various capabilities of LVLMs. Through extensive experiments and analysis in ReForm-Eval, we demonstrate the comprehensiveness and reliability of ReForm-Eval in assessing various LVLMs. Our benchmark and evaluation framework is now available at https://***/FudanDISC/ReForm-Eval © 2024 ACM.
