Glaucoma,a leading cause of blindness,demands early detection for effective *** AI-based diagnostic systems are gaining traction,their performance is often limited by challenges such as varying image backgrounds,pixel intensity inconsistencies,and object size *** address these limitations,we introduce an innovative,nature-inspired machine learning framework combining feature excitation-based dense segmentation networks(FEDS-Net)and an enhanced gray wolf optimization-supported support vectormachine(IGWO-SVM).This dual-stage approach begins with FEDS-Net,which utilizes a fuzzy integral(FI)technique to accurately segment the optic cup(OC)and optic disk(OD)from retinal images,even in the presence of uncertainty and *** the second stage,the IGWO-SVM model optimizes the SVM classification process,leveraging a gray wolf-inspired optimization strategy to fine-tune the kernel function for superior *** testing on three benchmark glaucoma image databases DRIONS-DB,Drishti-GS,and Rim-One-r3 demonstrates the efficacy of our method,achieving classification accuracies of 97.65%,94.88%,and 93.2%,*** results surpass existing state-of-the-art techniques,offering a promising solution for reliable and early glaucoma detection.

Maternal health is among the greatest challenges in the world, especially in rural areas as there lack medical practitioners, they do not have easily accessible publics clinics and transport is difficult. Therefore, high rates of maternal as well as infant morbidity and mortalities are recorded. This research utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) with machine learning algorithms to forecast and address maternal health hazards right at their onset stage. The current research utilizes the concept of AI along with many Machine Learning (ML) methods like the Ensemble Learning Model (ELM), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Decision-Tree (DT), XG-Boost (XGB), Cat Boost (CB), and Gradient Boosting (GB), along with Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) algorithm used for dealing with the problem class imbalance within the data set. SMOTE algorithm is utilized for the dataset balancing process. The handling system involves refining data preprocessing with the help of feature engineering and robust data cleaning which makes sure that anomalies do not erode the reliability of the predictive model. The existing methods [1] used RF (90%), DT (87%), XGB (85%), CB (86%), and GB (81%) algorithms and were compared with the accuracies of the proposed models like Logistic Regression (LR), Ensemble Learning Bagging (ELB), Ensemble Learning Stacking (ELS), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU). The existing methods used only imbalance dataset. The accuracies of the proposed models with using SMOTE algorithm (balanced dataset) are LR (61.33%), KNN (81%), ELB (92.33%), ELS (90.66%) CNN (40.67%), RNN (59.67%), LSTM (54%), GRU (56%) respectively. Among these methods, ELB achieved 92.33% of accuracy with using SMOTE algorithm using imbalanced dataset. Whereas the accuracies of the proposed models without using SMOTE algorithm (imbalanced dataset) are LR (66.09%), KNN (68.47%)

While promising results have been achieved in weakly-supervised semantic segmentation (WSSS), limited supervision from image-level tags inevitably induces discriminative reliance and spurious relations between target classes and background regions. Thus, Class Activation Map (CAM) usually tends to activate discriminative object regions and falsely includes lots of class-related backgrounds. Without pixel-level supervisions, it could be very difficult to enlarge the foreground activation and suppress those false activation of background regions. In this paper, we propose a novel framework of Cross Language Image Matching with Automatic Context Discovery (CLIMS++), based on the recently introduced Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) model, for WSSS. The core idea of our framework is to introduce natural language supervision to activate more complete object regions and suppress class-related background regions in CAM. In particular, we design object, background region, and text label matching losses to guide the model to excite more reasonable object regions of each category. In addition, we propose to automatically find spurious relations between foreground categories and backgrounds, through which a background suppression loss is designed to suppress the activation of class-related backgrounds. The above designs enable the proposed CLIMS++ to generate a more complete and compact activation map for the target objects. Extensive experiments on PASCAL VOC 2012 and MS COCO 2014 datasets show that our CLIMS++ significantly outperforms the previous state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Boolean and relational operations, which are defined for solving mathematically logical problems, are always required in computing models. Membrane computing is a kind of distributed parallel computing model. In this paper, we design different membranes for implementing primary Boolean and relational operations respectively. And based on these membranes, a membrane system can be constructed by a present algorithm for evaluating a logical expression. Some examples are given to illustrate how to perform the Boolean, relational operations and evaluate the logical expression correctly in these membrane systems.

The development of compact and efficient devices has been made possible by the growth of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) technologies, which has transformed modern electronics. However, there are cautions regarding the security of data, especially when it comes to transmission due to the extensive usage of technology. To address these, this study proposes a modified Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm as a solution for improved security protocol in VLSI systems. The proposed algorithm are intended to support the encryption procedure, increasing stronger production against cryptographic attacks while preserving the system's effectiveness and speed factors that are critical aspects for VLSI applications. Through extensive simulations and testing, the modified AES algorithm demonstrated significant security enhancements the operational efficiency of the VLSI system. The attained outcomes of the proposed work shows that the Modified AES strategy provides a workable technique to protect data in VLSI-based devices while maintaining data communication integrity and confidentiality. The proposed modified AES algorithm demonstrates a significant improvement in performance with a propagation delay of 7 ns, power consumption of 29 mW, and a computational overhead of 62 bits, leading to enhanced efficiency in cryptographic operations. This study highlights that the modified AES algorithm improve security in modern electronic systems and maintain performance. © 2025 IEEE.

Arithmetic operations and expression evaluations are fundamental in computing models. This paper firstly designs arithmetic membranes without priority rules for basic arithmetic operations, and then proposes an algorithm to construct expression P systems based on several of such membranes after designing synchronous and asynchronous transmission strategies among the membranes. For any arithmetic expression, an expression P system can be built to evaluate it effectively. Finally, we discuss different parallelism strategies through which different expression P systems can be built for an arithmetic expression.

Ensuring the user interface (UI) compatibility of web applications across diverse client-side configurations, including various operating systems and browsers, is a significant challenge due to the extensive range of possible combinations. Traditional tools often struggle to address this complexity, leading to visual inconsistencies and malfunctions. To improve compatibility testing, we propose a meta-model that initiates the process with a checklist covering critical configurations across different browsers. This checklist is then translated into Interaction Flow Modeling Language (IFML) constructs, enabling a model-driven approach to compatibility assessment. By leveraging this checklist-IFML integration, we systematically generate test cases that target compatibility issues more effectively. Our approach is validated through the Laptop-Web Case Study, where we assess compatibility by comparing checklist items with IFML constructs within the case study’s domain model. The results show that our approach enhances the accuracy and efficiency of compatibility testing, addressing a core gap in current methods. This research introduces a structured, model-driven method for compatibility testing, providing a more reliable framework for identifying and mitigating UI compatibility issues in web applications across varying client-side configurations.

Perceiving scene depth and 3D structure is one of the key tasks for Internet of Video Things (IoVT) devices to understand and interact with the environment. Self-supervised monocular depth estimation has demonstrated significant potential in leveraging large-scale unlabeled datasets to achieve competitive performance, thereby playing an increasingly important role in depth estimation. Despite recent methods providing additional supervisory signals through self-distillation strategies to improve depth estimation, an effective method for generating pseudo-depth labels suitable for addressing occlusion issues among elements far from the camera remains unexplored. To address this limitation, we propose a Patch-based Self-Distillation Learning Framework to exploit the potential of self-supervised monocular depth estimation in recovering fine-grained scene depth. In the proposed framework, elements far from the camera within the input image are enlarged by enlarging and cropping operations in the patch-based self-distillation branch. Guided by photometric consistency, the model learns the detailed occlusion relationships among elements from the enlarged patches, producing patch depth maps with fine structures. In the main branch, which takes full-scale images as input, patch depth maps serve as pseudo-depth labels through self-distillation loss to provide additional supervisory signals for regions where photometric consistency fails to offer effective supervision. This forces the depth estimation network to recover fine structures of elements far from the camera in full-scale input images. Regarding the architecture of the depth estimation network, we introduce a bin-center prediction. In this prediction, a global aggregator based on self-attention provides additional scene structure queries for adaptive scene depth discretization. A popular biometric identification method, renowned for its dependability and individuality in personal identification, is fingerprint recognition. This article presents an efficient fingerprint identification system that significantly reduces processing times for 100,000 fingerprints from 8 minutes to less than 5 seconds by utilizing multithreading, ANSI 378 templates, and Source AFIS. The system overcomes the time-consuming image-to-template conversion procedure and increases overall storage efficiency by utilizing parallel processing and preformatted templates (ANSI/ISO). The fingerprint matching system incorporates Directional Field, CNN models for identifying fingerprint types, and Finger Code methods to classify fingerprints, improving precision and efficiency.
