Traditional methods for video recognition require hand-crafted features, which often involves offline pre-processing for real-world videos. In this study, we propose a conceptually simple framework that directly takes raw videos as an input source for activity recognition. Our framework consists of two streams, namely a spatial stream and a temporal stream. The spatial stream is trained on RepVGG-B0 ConvNet using cropped RGB features, while the temporal stream uses an attention-based Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) network to learn posture vectors from human pose data obtained through Faster R-CNN pre-Trained model. Our proposed method is evaluated on a standard video action recognition benchmark, MSR Daily Activity3D, and proves to be competitive with state-of-The-Art action recognition methods. We achieve state-of-The-Art performance on MSR Daily Activity3D with a precision and recall rate of 99.01% and 98.91%, respectively. Our results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in recognizing video actions. © 2023 IEEE.

Advancements in single-cell multi-omics sequencing technologies have dramatically transformed the analysis of cellular states at single-cell resolution. Cluster analyses leveraging single-cell transcriptome and epigenome data have enabled the characterization of cellular states and the delineation of transcriptomic regulatory programs associated with cellular heterogeneity. However, the high dimensionality, sparsity, and heterogeneity inherent to multi-omics data present significant challenges to their clustering analysis. In this study, we introduced single-cell Multi-Omics Generative Adversarial Networks (scMOGAN), an unsupervised clustering model specifically tailored for single-cell transcriptome and epigenome data. scMOGAN accomplishes this by efficaciously modeling the omics data and mining potential features through neural networks, ultimately utilizing Gaussian mixture models for cell type identification. To validate and scrutinize the performance of scMOGAN, we performed analyses on two actual multi-omics datasets and one simulated dataset. The results demonstrate that scMOGAN surpasses other existing methods in terms of clustering performance, underscoring its efficacy in navigating the complexities of multi-omics data. © 2023 IEEE.

Cancer survival prediction is pivotal in tailoring individualized treatment strategies and guiding clinician decision-making. Yet, existing methodologies grapple with efficiently harnessing the intricate distribution of medical data spanning various modalities. In response, we present SAMMS, an advanced multi-omics multimodal deep learning framework tailored for survival prediction. SAMMS leverages the robust image segmentation model, "Segment Anything"to adeptly characterize pathological images. This prowess is further enhanced by integrating multi-omics data and clinical insights, facilitating holistic modeling across a diverse modal spectrum. The framework weaves a modality-specific subnetwork with a cross-modality common subnetwork, meticulously capturing intra-modality nuances and inter-modality correlations. SAMMS eclipsed its contemporaries by delivering remarkable performance on TCGA's LGG and KIRC tumor datasets. A battery of analyses underscored SAMMS's unparalleled capability to distill multifaceted insights from multimodal datasets, yielding richer and more integrative multimodal representations. Such strides promise significant advancements in cancer survival analytics, bolstering the precision and efficacy of patient-centric treatments, disease oversight, and clinical decision processes. © 2023 IEEE.

Nowadays, secure and reliable management of logistics is highly needed. Logistics is the delivery of goods from producers to legitimate consumers in accurate amounts and good conditions. The use of low-capable sensor nodes in smart logistics makes it vulnerable to many security threats. Smart logistics necessitated the delivery of suitable information to the authorized person at the appropriate time and place, which is only feasible with a stable infrastructure. This paper presents an authentication scheme together with blockchain technology to provide a secure supply chain management system. The presented authentication mechanism is based on standard KERBOROS scheme which is a ticket-based scheme. The scheme is evaluated by BAN logic which shows that it is an effective scheme in terms of improved response time and encryption/decryption time along with key generation time. © 2023 IEEE.

With the advancement and availability of the internet in the present age, everything is being wireless. Be it our home appliances or high defined monitoring systems, Wireless sensor networks play an important role. But with advancement comes a high probability of getting attacked. One of these attacks is the Blackhole attack (BHA), in which a node drains all the traffic towards itself and discards the data traffic without sending it towards the receiver. There exist multiple approaches that help to protect a network against BHA, but existing approaches have some drawbacks. Many proposed schemes make sure that the given technique uses less energy but failed to reduce the packet drop ratio. In the detection of BHA, the proposed scheme should not only detect defected nodes but also manages the efficiency. The proposed methodology used mobile agents with authentication of nodes and trust values to detect black hole nodes. The methodology is tested using different evaluation measures such as energy consumption, latency, network life, and packet delivery ratio. The proposed method uses a detection algorithm that increases energy consumption and hence networks lifetime. Packet delivery rate is increased by 19.51%, the energy consumption is reduced by 53.3%, and network life is increased by 43.3% as compared to the previous technique. © 2023 IEEE.

Genomic variants, which can disrupt cellular functions, present a challenge in distinguishing deleterious from benign instances. While assessing genome-wide functional impacts, many current algorithms neglect protein tertiary structure of coding region variants due to limitations in protein structural prediction. This study introduces PMMVar, an advanced multimodal deep convolutional network, which adeptly integrates protein tertiary structures with conservation properties from ESM-2, supplemented by other protein structural sequences. PMMVar achieves outstanding performance on the latest clinical variant datasets, NCBI ClinVar (2023), and the Mendelian variant dataset, surpassing existing benchmarks. Ablation analyses validate the significance of protein multi-level structures in enhancing the model's accuracy. Overall, our findings spotlight the essential role of multi-level protein structures in pathogenicity predictions and their potential to discern deleterious genomic variants effectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Deep learning applications for medical image classification have shown remarkable promise, particularly incorporating attention-based neural networks. This is particularly relevant in medical imaging, where the integration of Artificial Intelligence assists with various imaging tasks, including classification, segmentation, and detection. Deep learning is revolutionizing medical research and playing a significant role in advancing personalized clinical treatment. However, the lack of interpretability in these models presents a significant obstacle to their adoption in clinical practice. Therefore, there is a growing need for a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence systems and their internal mechanisms, capabilities, and limitations, which is the focus of the field of explainable AI. This study proposes a novel attention-based explainable deep learning framework for medical image classification tasks, including Covid-19, breast cancer (BreakHis), lung cancer (LC2500), and Retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT). The proposed framework recorded overall accuracies of 98% (Covid-19 Radiography), 95% (BreakHis), 99.8% (LC2500), and 95%(OCT). For visual analysis of the outcomes, we employ and use the LIME, SHAP, and ELI-5 to analyze the achieved results. The study's primary goal is to bridge the gap between the high performance achieved by attention-based models and the necessity for transparency and interpretability in medical image diagnostics. © 2023 IEEE.

The explosive adoption of IoT applications in different domains, such as healthcare, transportation, and smart home and industry, has led to the pervasive adoption of edge and cloud computing. Large-scale edge and cloud data centers, consisting of thousands of computing servers, are hungry-energy infrastructure exacerbating issues such as environmental carbon footprint and high electricity costs. Developing energy-efficient solutions for cloud infrastructure requires knowledge of the correlation between computing server resource utilization and power consumption. Power consumption modeling exhibits this relationship and is crucial for energy savings. In this paper, we propose PowerGen, a framework to generate server resources utilization and corresponding power consumption dataset. The proposed framework will aid academic researchers to formulate correlations between resources utilization and power consumption by using power prediction models, and evaluate energy-aware resource management approaches in an edge-cloud computing system. It will help edge and cloud administrators to evaluate the energy-efficiency of heterogenous severs architectures in a datacenter. We exemplify the applicability of the dataset, generated by our proposed framework, in power prediction modeling and energy-aware scheduling for green computing scenarios. © 2024 Elsevier B.V..
