Genomic variants, which can disrupt cellular functions, present a challenge in distinguishing deleterious from benign instances. While assessing genome-wide functional impacts, many current algorithms neglect protein tertiary structure of coding region variants due to limitations in protein structural prediction. This study introduces PMMVar, an advanced multimodal deep convolutional network, which adeptly integrates protein tertiary structures with conservation properties from ESM-2, supplemented by other protein structural sequences. PMMVar achieves outstanding performance on the latest clinical variant datasets, NCBI ClinVar (2023), and the Mendelian variant dataset, surpassing existing benchmarks. Ablation analyses validate the significance of protein multi-level structures in enhancing the model's accuracy. Overall, our findings spotlight the essential role of multi-level protein structures in pathogenicity predictions and their potential to discern deleterious genomic variants effectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Deep learning applications for medical image classification have shown remarkable promise, particularly incorporating attention-based neural networks. This is particularly relevant in medical imaging, where the integration of Artificial Intelligence assists with various imaging tasks, including classification, segmentation, and detection. Deep learning is revolutionizing medical research and playing a significant role in advancing personalized clinical treatment. However, the lack of interpretability in these models presents a significant obstacle to their adoption in clinical practice. Therefore, there is a growing need for a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence systems and their internal mechanisms, capabilities, and limitations, which is the focus of the field of explainable AI. This study proposes a novel attention-based explainable deep learning framework for medical image classification tasks, including Covid-19, breast cancer (BreakHis), lung cancer (LC2500), and Retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT). The proposed framework recorded overall accuracies of 98% (Covid-19 Radiography), 95% (BreakHis), 99.8% (LC2500), and 95%(OCT). For visual analysis of the outcomes, we employ and use the LIME, SHAP, and ELI-5 to analyze the achieved results. The study's primary goal is to bridge the gap between the high performance achieved by attention-based models and the necessity for transparency and interpretability in medical image diagnostics. © 2023 IEEE.

The explosive adoption of IoT applications in different domains, such as healthcare, transportation, and smart home and industry, has led to the pervasive adoption of edge and cloud computing. Large-scale edge and cloud data centers, consisting of thousands of computing servers, are hungry-energy infrastructure exacerbating issues such as environmental carbon footprint and high electricity costs. Developing energy-efficient solutions for cloud infrastructure requires knowledge of the correlation between computing server resource utilization and power consumption. Power consumption modeling exhibits this relationship and is crucial for energy savings. In this paper, we propose PowerGen, a framework to generate server resources utilization and corresponding power consumption dataset. The proposed framework will aid academic researchers to formulate correlations between resources utilization and power consumption by using power prediction models, and evaluate energy-aware resource management approaches in an edge-cloud computing system. It will help edge and cloud administrators to evaluate the energy-efficiency of heterogenous severs architectures in a datacenter. We exemplify the applicability of the dataset, generated by our proposed framework, in power prediction modeling and energy-aware scheduling for green computing scenarios. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. Charity giving is a fundamental aspect of society, but there are concerns about the accountability and transparency of the donation process. Blockchain technology has emerged as a potential solution, offering a secure and auditable platform for managing charitable contributions. In this paper, we explore the concept of empowering donors through blockchain technology and examine how it can help ensure that contributions reach the right recipients. We review existing literature on the topic and identify key areas for future research, including the development of hybrid blockchain solutions along with the implementation of novel consensus mechanisms. Moreover, providing the idea of decentralized autonomous organizations, self-executing smart contracts, and integration of blockchain with artificial intelligence and Internet of things. By providing a comprehensive overview of the current state of the field and outlining a roadmap for future research, we hope to stimulate further exploration of the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize charity giving, and create a more accountable and transparent system for managing charitable funds. Some research questions are designed for each novel idea. Our analysis suggests that blockchain has the potential to empower donors and ensure that their contributions make a positive impact in the world, but further research is needed to fully realize its potential. © 2023 IEEE.

Malware detection plays a crucial role in ensuring robust cybersecurity amidst the ever-evolving cyber threats. This research paper delves into the realm of machine learning (ML) algorithms for malware detection, with a specific emphasis on the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm, utilizing tailored parameter settings and the Firefly Optimization Algorithm (FOA). The study leverages the MalMem-2022 dataset to assess the efficacy of KNN and KNN with FOA in malware detection. The impact of parameter tuning and feature selection on classification is elucidated by comparing the performance of both approaches. Encouragingly, the results reveal promising advancements in one of the multiclass classification scenarios when employing KNN with FOA, yielding noteworthy enhancements in Accuracy, Recall, Precision, Matthews Correlation Coefficient, TNR, and F1-score by 2.65%, 2.65%, 2.47%, 3.59%, 0.17%, and 2.61%, respectively. These findings accentuate the significance of optimizing KNN’s parameters and implementing FOA for feature selection, culminating in heightened accuracy in malware detection. The symbiotic fusion of KNN and FOA exhibits remarkable effectiveness in augmenting the classification model’s performance, thus offering valuable insights for bolstering cybersecurity measures. Adopting ML algorithms, particularly KNN with specific parameter settings and FOA, presents a promising avenue for enhancing malware detection capabilities. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

In era of modern world and technology where everything is digitalized. Cloud computing emerged as one of the fastest growing parts of digital industry. With the Succor of cloud computing models, business accomplishes their objectives with least exertion when contrasted with traditional processing environment. In spite of these compensations, yet security of the information in cloud database is the significant fear in endorsement of cloud. Although several techniques have been proposed such as cryptographic and steganographic approaches, but all of these have some loopholes. Therefore, in this paper new data protection technique based on steganographic encryption is proposed which has less computational time and secure against known plain text and Man-In-Middle Attack. © 2023 IEEE.

This research explores the use of Fuzzy K-Nearest Neighbor(F-KNN)and Artificial Neural Networks(ANN)for predicting heart stroke incidents,focusing on the impact of feature selection methods,specifically Chi-Square and Best First Search(BFS).The study demonstrates that BFS significantly enhances the performance of both *** BFS preprocessing,the ANN model achieved an impressive accuracy of 97.5%,precision and recall of 97.5%,and an Receiver Operating Characteristics(ROC)area of 97.9%,outperforming the Chi-Square-based ANN,which recorded an accuracy of 91.4%.Similarly,the F-KNN model with BFS achieved an accuracy of 96.3%,precision and recall of 96.3%,and a Receiver Operating Characteristics(ROC)area of 96.2%,surpassing the performance of the Chi-Square F-KNN model,which showed an accuracy of 95%.These results highlight that BFS improves the ability to select the most relevant features,contributing to more reliable and accurate stroke *** findings underscore the importance of using advanced feature selection methods like BFS to enhance the performance of machine learning models in healthcare applications,leading to better stroke risk management and improved patient outcomes.

Transformers have increasingly become the de facto method to model sequential data with state-of-the-art performance. Due to its widespread use, being able to estimate and calibrate its modeling uncertainty is important to understand and design robust transformer models. To achieve this, previous works have used Gaussian processes (GPs) to perform uncertainty calibration for the attention units of transformers and attained notable successes. However, such approaches have to confine the transformers to the space of symmetric attention to ensure the necessary symmetric requirement of their GP's kernel specification, which reduces the representation capacity of the model. To mitigate this restriction, we propose the Correlated Gaussian Process Transformer (CGPT), a new class of transformers whose self-attention units are modeled as cross-covariance between two correlated GPs (CGPs). This allows asymmetries in attention and can enhance the representation capacity of GP-based transformers. We also derive a sparse approximation for CGP to make it scale better. Our empirical studies show that both CGP-based and sparse CGP-based transformers achieve better performance than state-of-the-art GP-based transformers on a variety of benchmark tasks.

To address the problem of enormous differences in two heterogeneous images, the traditional unsupervised frameworks are most normally realized by converting two images into a common domain with various auxiliary strategies, such as transformation and alignment, which requires extensive calculation and has difficulty balancing the training tasks. To achieve a concise framework, this article proposes self-guided autoencoders (SGAE) for unsupervised change detection (CD) in heterogeneous remote sensing images (RSIs). Unlike traditional methods that aim to narrow the differences of heterogeneous images to highlight the changed information, SGAE forces the flow of identification in formation generated in unlabeled data through self-guided iterations. First, initial unsupervised networks output an elementary change map that will be screened to obtain reliable pseudolabels. The selected pseudolabeled samples will be used as the input of a supervised network to obtain another change map. Then, multiple change maps will be fused to refine the confidence of pseudolabels again, obtaining new fused pseudolabeled samples for the self-guided network, which will be trained with pseudolabeled samples and unlabeled samples. Finally, the above operations will be repeated to continuously optimize the net, which helps itself to extract the discriminative features for classification in self-guided iterations. Experiments compared with several algorithms on four datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our method, which can help unsupervised models improve discriminative feature extraction and classification performance with a more flexible learning method. © 2020 IEEE.
