MLPFormer: MLP-integrated transformer for colorectal histopathology whole slide image segmentation

Colorectal intraepithelial neoplasia is a precancerous lesion of colorectal cancer, which is mainly diagnosed using pathological images. According to the characteristics of lesions, precancerous lesions can be classified into four different grades, i.e., background, normal, low and high level. However, due to the continuity of lesion development, tissue in different stages has high similarity. Recently, visual transformers have achieved impressive results in different visual tasks, due to their capacity of capturing long-range dependencies. However, due to computational cost, transformer cannot well extract detailed feature, which is important for lesion grading. To accurately segment pathological tissues with high similarity, in this work, we embed the multi-head MLP mixer module in the transformer network to extract cell and edge information. Furthermore, we propose a hierarchical MLP decoder to facilitate multi-scale feature fusion. The proposed transformer, namely MLPFormer, achieves remarkable results against competitive baselines on the Histo-CRC Biopsy dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that MLPFormer significantly outperforms the competitive baselines, i.e., a 3% dice improvement is achieved over the SegFormer series. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) emerged as an innovative and patient-centric approach for non-invasive and painless examination of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It serves as a pivotal tool in helping medical practitioners in the early detection of anomalies within the intricate domain of the human GI tract. The automated identification of aberrations assumes paramount significance, contributing not only to temporal efficiency but also to timely diagnosis. Within the realm of academic literature, a plethora of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies have been proposed to effectuate the automatic classification, segmentation, and synthesis of anomalies inherent in WCE images. This scholarly endeavor undertakes a comprehensive and meticulous survey, elucidating the spectrum of anomaly classification, summarization, and detection techniques harnessed for computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) in the context of WCE images. The survey begins by delineating the methodologies underpinning WCE image classification and video processing. Subsequently, an exhaustive evaluation of techniques for analyzing WCE images is furnished, accompanied by an in-depth exploration of pertinent surveys, in addition to a judicious assessment of their merits and demerits. Furthermore, this study undertakes a rigorous evaluation of prevailing datasets utilized to benchmark the efficacy of various WCE techniques. In summary, this survey serves as a vanguard, delineating promising avenues for future investigations in the realm of WCE image analysis models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Cookies are considered a fundamental means of web application services for authenticating various Hypertext Transfer Protocol(HTTP)requests andmaintains the states of clients’information over the *** cookies are exploited to carry client patterns observed by a *** client patterns facilitate the particular client’s future visit to the corresponding ***,security and privacy are the primary concerns owing to the value of information over public channels and the storage of client information on the *** protocols have been introduced that maintain HTTP cookies,but many of those fail to achieve the required security,or require a lot of resource *** this article,we have introduced a lightweight Elliptic Curve Cryptographic(ECC)based protocol for authenticating client and server transactions to maintain the privacy and security of HTTP *** proposed protocol uses a secret key embedded within a *** proposed protocol ismore efficient and lightweight than related protocols because of its reduced computation,storage,and communication ***,the analysis presented in this paper confirms that proposed protocol resists various known attacks.

The cloud network is rapidly growing due to a massive increase in interconnected devices and the emergence of different technologies such as the Internet of things, fog computing, and artificial intelligence. In response, cloud computing needs reliable dealings among the service providers, brokers, and consumers. The existing cloud monitoring frameworks such as Amazon Cloud Watch, Paraleap Azure Watch, and Rack Space Cloud Kick work under the control of service providers. They work fine;however, this may create dissatisfaction among customers over Service Level Agreement (SLA) violations. Customers’ dissatisfaction may drastically reduce the businesses of service providers. To cope with the earlier mentioned issue and get in line with cloud philosophy, Monitoring as a Service (MaaS), completely independent in nature, is needed for observing and regulating the cloud businesses. However, the existing MaaS frameworks do not address the comprehensive SLA for customer satisfaction and penalties management. This article proposes a reliable framework for monitoring the provider’s services by adopting third-party monitoring services with clearcut SLA and penalties management. Since this framework monitors SLA as a cloud monitoring service, it is named as SLA-MaaS. On violations, it penalizes those who are found in breach of terms and condition enlisted in SLA. Simulation results confirmed that the proposed framework adequately satisfies the customers (as well as service providers). This helps in developing a trustworthy relationship among cloud partners and increases customer attention and retention. © Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.

Agile development aims at rapidly developing software while embracing the continuous evolution of user requirements along the whole development *** stories are the primary means of requirements collection and elicitation in the agile development.A project can involve a large amount of user stories,which should be clustered into different groups based on their functionality’s similarity for systematic requirements analysis,effective mapping to developed features,and efficient ***,the current user story clustering is mainly conducted in a manual manner,which is time-consuming and subjective to human *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for clustering the user stories automatically on the basis of natural language ***,the sentence patterns of each component in a user story are first analysed and determined such that the critical structure in the representative tasks can be automatically extracted based on the user story *** similarity of user stories is calculated,which can be used to generate the connected graph as the basis of automatic user story *** evaluate the approach based on thirteen datasets,compared against ten baseline *** results show that our clustering approach has higher accuracy,recall rate and F1-score than these *** is demonstrated that the proposed approach can significantly improve the efficacy of user story clustering and thus enhance the overall performance of agile *** study also highlights promising research directions for more accurate requirements elicitation.

Smart Grids (SG) rely on Home Area Networks (HAN) and Neighborhood Area Networks (NAN) to ensure efficient power distribution, real-time monitoring, and seamless communication between smart devices. Despite these advantages, the use of public communication channels in HAN and NAN networks introduces critical challenges, such as vulnerability to impersonation, physical tampering, and scalability issues in resource-constrained environments. These issues compromise the stability, reliability, and security of SG environments. Existing protocols often fail to adequately address these challenges, particularly in ensuring resistance to physical tampering of supply lines and impersonation attacks. Additionally, they struggle to minimize the computation, communication, and energy costs associated with securing a resource-constrained SG environment. Therefore, we propose a robust key exchange and tamper-resistant protocol for HAN and NAN networks to address these limitations. The proposed protocol leverages the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) mechanism to offer physical tampering resistance to smart meters. We validate our protocol formally using the Random or Real (RoR) model, which confirms its security robustness. Additionally, our informal security analysis highlights the protocol's resilience against impersonation, physical tampering attacks, etc. We analyze and compare the performance of the proposed protocol, which further demonstrates our protocol's effectiveness and security compared to competing protocols. Moreover, the proposed protocol achieves resource efficiency with 45.99% and 58.85% substantial reductions in computation overhead and energy overhead, respectively, compared to competing protocols. These results showcase the protocol's enhanced security and practicality for resource-constrained SG environments. © 2014 IEEE.

Graph Contrastive Learning (GCL) has emerged as a highly effective self-supervised approach in graph representation learning. However, prevailing GCL methods confront two primary challenges: 1) They predominantly operate under homophily assumptions, focusing on low-frequency signals in node features while neglecting heterophilic edges that connect nodes with dissimilar features. 2) Their reliance on neighborhood aggregation for inference leads to scalability challenges and hinders deployment in real-time applications. In this paper, we introduce S3GCL, an innovative framework designed to tackle these challenges. Inspired by spectral GNNs, we initially demonstrate the correlation between frequency and homophily levels. Then, we propose a novel cosine-parameterized Chebyshev polynomial as low/high-pass filters to generate biased graph views. To resolve the inference dilemma, we incorporate an MLP encoder and enhance its awareness of graph context by introducing structurally and semantically neighboring nodes as positive pairs in the spatial domain. Finally, we formulate a cross-pass GCL objective between full-pass MLP and biased-pass GNN filtered features, eliminating the need for augmentation. Extensive experiments on real-world tasks validate S3GCL proficiency in generalization to diverse homophily levels and its superior inference efficiency. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

Aiming at the unbalanced problem of big data classification, this paper proposes a classification method of unbalanced data on the ground of Bayesian optimal neural network model. The method firstly uses Optimized Graph Convolutional Network (OGCN) network to carry out message passing mechanism in data graph, designs neural network model with self-attention pooling and mean maximization pooling, and then uses Bayes optimization to update the posterior probability of optimization function by constantly updating the probability model and evaluating the objective function. Effectively solve the problem of speed and optimal solution of hyperparameter optimization in the neural network model. Secondly, the model is used for data set training to obtain the weight of the entire network. Secondly, the unbalanced data is mixed sampling to reduce the number of negative samples. Finally, the capability of the model was verified on the CiteSeer dataset. Experimental results showed that the accuracy rate, accuracy rate and recall rate of the proposed algorithm were 0.974, 0.982 and 0.973, respectively, which effectively improved the accuracy rate, accuracy rate and recall rate of unbalanced data classification compared with other algorithms. © 2024, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. The pivotal role of white-box testing with respect to software quality assurance, necessitates dissemination of education materials related to white-box testing in the course curriculum. In this poster, we describe our experiences in conducting an authentic learning-based exercise related to white-box testing. From a conducted survey with 124 students, we observe the authentic learning-based exercise to be helpful for students to learn about white-box testing. © 2024 Owner/Author.

We propose a network service as a solution for video conference applications by constructing network layer routing strategies. Our approach takes into account the characteristics of conferencing flows, addresses various self-customized metrics, and proactively ensures a positive user experience by preventing contention. The performance of VCApather is evaluated using a fully-meshed topology with five nodes and real-world video conference traffic. The results show that VCApather is capable of achieving high link utilization and balance, while also meeting predefined user metrics. Compared to other schemes, VCApather was found to satisfy 69.8% more QoE requirement and to yield an average bitrate improvement of 1.74×. © 2024 ACM.
