computer-aided detection of plasmodium malaria on cell images from digital microscopy provides an invaluable second opinion to medical experts. Traditionally, well-established deep learning algorithms are widely used to detect plasmodium, but these techniques have not been deployed due to the uninterpretable nature of the decisions made by the network. To address this, we present an ensemble method that fuses the predictions based on the class activation mapping (CAM) results from multiple networks via a novel selector network. We study the performance on a publicly available dataset of cell images by using three convolutional neural network architectures, Xception, ResNet50, and InceptionV3,to produce CAM results for the selector network and performance comparison. Our proposed approach helps enhance doctors' trust and outperforms the traditional methods by 1%. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a processed phytoplankton dataset from Lake Zerendi and other Kokshetau Upland lakes, Kazakhstan. The study aimed to develop an automated method for controlling the distribution of phytoplankton in fresh open water using a gradient descent approach with the search for a starting point for research. The paper also presents the reconstructed biomass indicators for changes in water temperature, with model calibration based on results from 5 years of surface sampling. A special feature of the proposed computer data processing is the cubic spline interpolation, which allows a higher calculation accuracy. This method reduces the sample size required, providing a comprehensive picture of the condition of the infrastructure and allowing for a more efficient response to emerging ecosystem issues. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Facial Surface Anthropometric Features and Measurements With an Emphasis on Rhinoplasty (vol 42, pg 133, 2022)

Background Facial features and measurements are utilized to analyze patients’ faces for various reasons, including surgical planning, scientific communications, patient-surgeon communications, and post-surgery evaluations. Objectives There are numerous descriptions regarding these features and measurements scattered throughout the literature, and the authors did not encounter a current compilation of these parameters in the medical literature. Methods A narrative literature review of the published medical literature for facial measurements used for facial analysis in rhinoplasty was conducted through the electronic databases MEDLINE/PubMed and Google Scholar, along with a citation search. Results A total of 61 facial features were identified: 45 points (25 bilateral, 20 unilateral), 5 lines (3 bilateral, 2 unilateral), 8 planes, and 3 areas. A total of 122 measurements were identified: 48 distances (6 bilateral, 42 unilateral), 57 angles (13 bilateral, 44 unilateral), and 17 ratios. Supplemental figures were created to depict all features and measurements utilizing a frontal, lateral, or basal view of the face. Conclusions This paper provides the most comprehensive and current compilation of facial measurements to date. The authors believe this compilation will guide further developments (methodologies and software tools) for analyzing nasal structures and assessing the objective outcomes of facial surgeries, in particular rhinoplasty. Moreover, it will improve communication as a reference for facial measurements of facial surface anthropometry, in particular rhinoplasty.

Parking space is usually very limited in major cities,especially Cairo,leading to traffic congestion,air pollution,and driver *** car parking systems tend to tackle parking issues in a non-digitized *** systems require the drivers to search for an empty parking space with no guaran-tee of finding any wasting time,resources,and causing unnecessary *** address these issues,this paper proposes a digitized parking system with a proof-of-concept implementation that combines multiple technological concepts into one solution with the advantages of using IoT for real-time tracking of park-ing *** authentication and automated payments are handled using a quick response(QR)code on entry and *** experiments were done on real data collected for six different locations in Cairo via a live popular times *** machine learning models were investigated in order to estimate the occu-pancy rate of certain ***,a clear analysis of the differences in per-formance is illustrated with the final model deployed being *** has achieved the most efficient results with a R^(2) score of 85.7%.

A popular biometric identification method, renowned for its dependability and individuality in personal identification, is fingerprint recognition. This article presents an efficient fingerprint identification system that significantly reduces processing times for 100,000 fingerprints from 8 minutes to less than 5 seconds by utilizing multithreading, ANSI 378 templates, and Source AFIS. The system overcomes the time-consuming image-to-template conversion procedure and increases overall storage efficiency by utilizing parallel processing and preformatted templates (ANSI/ISO). The fingerprint matching system incorporates Directional Field, CNN models for identifying fingerprint types, and Finger Code methods to classify fingerprints, improving precision and efficiency.

A Novel Scheme for Malicious Nodes Detection in Cloud Markets Based on Fuzzy Logic Technique

Cloud security vulnerabilities have recently become more prevalent around the world, posing a threat to cloud service providers’ (CSPs) ability to respond to client demands. In cloud market, the requests are announced by the client nodes to their CSP. A malicious node can alter a client’s request, resulting in the next cloud market collapse, decreased reliability, and data leaking. To identify malicious nodes in the cloud market, a novel fuzzy multiple criterion decision making scheme is suggested. Authentication test, trust level, traffic size, and node activity levels are all taken into consideration simultaneously as the major criteria for identifying malicious nodes. For each node, the CSP uses fuzzy Integral to generate a composite value based on these criteria. The malicious node is then removed from the cloud market using this composite value. The simulation results demonstrated the potential of the proposed method to prevent nodes in the cloud market from running malware or software that can be used to degrade quality of service by exhausting resources in the cloud market © 2022,International Journal of Interactive Mobile *** Rights Reserved

Automatic person identification (API) using human biometrics is essential and highly demanded compared to traditional API methods, where a person is automatically identified using his/her distinct characteristics including speech, fingerprint, iris, handwritten signatures, and others. The fusion of more than one human biometric produces bimodal and multimodal API systems that normally outperform single modality systems. This paper presents our work towards fusing speech and handwritten signatures for developing a bimodal API system, where fusion was conducted at the decision level due to the differences in the type and format of the features extracted. A data set is created that contains recordings of usernames and handwritten signatures of 100 persons (50 males and 50 females), where each person recorded his/her username 30 times and provided his/her handwritten signature 30 times. Consequently, a total of 3000 utterances and 3000 handwritten signatures were collected. The speech API used Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) technique for features extraction and Vector Quantization (VQ) for features training and classification. On the other hand, the handwritten signatures API used global features for reflecting the structure of the hand signature image such as image area, pure height, pure width and signature height and the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) architecture of Artificial Neural Network for features training and classification. Once the best matches for both the speech and the handwritten signatures API are produced, the fusion process takes place at decision level. It computes the difference between the two best matches for each modality and selects the modality of the maximum difference. Based on our experimental results, the bimodal API obtained an average recognition rate of 96.40%, whereas the speech API and the handwritten signatures API obtained average recognition rates of 92.60% and 75.20%, respectively. 5G communications systems offer several types of service groups include enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive machine-type communications (mMTC). The ability to meet various mobile communications requirements of different users is ensured by these service groups. In this paper, a novel service type priority decision method is proposed for 5G and beyond (5GB) systems to determine the most needed service group under a specific region. This approach is useful for the resource allocation planning and optimization through a coverage region. The proposed method is based on the machine learning (ML) usage with several ambient information. Instance-based and model-based techniques are compared for ML. Also, the ensemble methods are tested on the generated synthetic dataset. © 2023 IEEE.
