A three-step SEM-Bayesian network approach for predicting the determinants of CloudIoT-based healthcare adoption

Adopting the CloudIoT-based healthcare paradigm provides various prospects for medical IT and considerably enhances healthcare services. However, compared to the advanced development of CloudIoT-based healthcare systems, their usage is relatively low among healthcare professionals in hospitals. Thus, a study on the healthcare professionals acceptance and adoption of CloudIoT-based healthcare is critical. This study explores factors influencing healthcare professionals adoption of CloudIoT-based healthcare solutions by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 model. Data was collected from 300 healthcare professionals in Jordan through an online questionnaire developed using the Google^® form application. The Bayesian Network and Structural Equation Modeling techniques were used to analyze and validate the proposed model. The results revealed that the healthcare professional’s behavioral intention is directly affected by seven factors: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, habit, trust, privacy, and security. The results also indicate that trust mediates the influence of privacy, facilitating conditions, and performance expectancy on behavioral intention. The research results will aid CloudIoT service providers, healthcare organizations, designers, and developers by offering comprehensive knowledge of the significant factors of CloudIoT-based healthcare adoption. A better understanding of these factors will help these stakeholder groups enhance their services and speed up the adoption of CloudIoT in the healthcare area. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Hardware Verification of Deep Learning Accelerators (DLAs) has become critically important for testing the reliability and trustworthiness of Learning Enabled Autonomous systems (LEAS). In this paper, we introduce a scalable, reusable, and efficient hardware verification framework for DLAs using the Universal verification methodology (UVM). The verification environment is focused on testing the inference functionality of the perception module in LEAS for different DLA designs. Moreover, the verification environment is portable across simulation and hardware-assisted verification platforms for emulation and FPGA prototyping. To assess our proposed UVM design methodology, we have applied it to the Nvidia Deep Learning Accelerator (NVDLA), an open-source core for DLAs as a case study. © 2024 IEEE.

Assessing and prioritizing crucial drivers for CloudIoT-based healthcare adoption: an analytic hierarchy process approach

The CloudIoT paradigm has profoundly transformed the healthcare industry, providing outstanding innovation and practical applications. However, despite its many advantages, the adoption of this paradigm in healthcare settings remains limited. There is a lack of comprehensive understanding of the factors that ensure successful implementation. To address this issue, we have used the Analytic Hierarchy Process to prioritize 26 factors that could potentially influence the adoption of CloudIoT-based healthcare. These factors were derived from existing literature and categorized into four main groups: personal-specific, technology-specific, environment-specific, and organization-specific factors. Our findings revealed that performance expectancy, trust, facilitating conditions, task complexity, and perceived security are the top five critical factors influencing CloudIoT-based healthcare adoption. Interestingly, our results indicated that environmental factors were less influential than those in the other categories, with personal, technological, and organizational factors dominating the top ten significant factors. The insights from this study can help policymakers, CloudIoT service providers, healthcare providers, designers, and developers better understand the factors contributing to the successful implementation of CloudIoT-based healthcare. This understanding can guide decision-making and inform the development of strategies to promote the broader adoption of this innovative technology. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

With technologies that have democratized the production and reproduction of information, a significant portion of daily interacted posts in social media has been infected by rumors. Despite the extensive research on rumor detection and verification, so far, the problem of calculating the spread power of rumors has not been considered. To address this research gap, the present study seeks a model to calculate the Spread Power of Rumor (SPR) as the function of content-based features in two categories: False Rumor (FR) and True Rumor (TR). For this purpose, the theory of Allport and Postman will be adopted, which it claims that importance and ambiguity are the key variables in rumor-mongering and the power of rumor. Totally 42 content features in two categories "importance" (28 features) and "ambiguity" (14 features) are introduced to compute SPR. The proposed model is evaluated on two datasets, Twitter and Telegram. The results showed that (i) the spread power of False Rumor documents is rarely more than True Rumors. (ii) there is a significant difference between the SPR means of two groups False Rumor and True Rumor. (iii) SPR as a criterion can have a positive impact on distinguishing False Rumors and True Rumors. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Testing the reliability and trustworthiness of high-performance computing (HPC) applications has made Deep Learning Accelerators (DLAs) verification critically important. In this paper, we introduce a hardware verification framework with an error injection methodology based on the Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) for DLAs that is scalable, reusable, and efficient to test the robustness and resilience of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) running on various DLA designs. Furthermore, the error injection methodology is applicable to simulation and hardware-assisted verification (HAV) platforms for emulation and FPGA prototyping. Our proposed error injection mechanism is evaluated using Nvidia Deep Learning Accelerator (NVDLA), an open-source DLA core. © VDE VERLAG GMBH ∙ Berlin ∙ Offenbach.

The utilization of Data-Driven Machine Learning (DDML) models in the healthcare sector poses unique challenges due to the crucial nature of clinical decision-making and its impact on patient outcomes. A primary concern in this domain is the data quality that forms the basis for these models, which is essential for their effectiveness. While numerous studies are dedicated to leveraging Machine Learning (ML) to enhance patient care, a substantial gap exists in understanding and evaluating the quality of training data before training ML models. This issue is exacerbated by the lack of well-defined standards to ensure that data characteristics align with the specific goals of ML in healthcare. To address this, our study introduces a conceptual three-dimensional framework focusing on data accuracy, completeness, and consistency aimed at assessing and improving the quality of training data. This framework is designed to enhance the performance, predictability, and interpretability of healthcare-specific ML models and reduce biases, thus bridging current research gaps and laying the groundwork for future developments in ML-driven healthcare systems. This paper presents the initial step for our proposed Data Quality Framework (DQF), which addresses the three dimensions mentioned above. It discusses its potential implications and applications in healthcare data, and its main goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the proposed DQF, illustrating its significance in advancing healthcare data quality and ultimately improving patient outcomes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This paper presents a synthesis method of decision-making systems based on Agents forming multiple coalitions. The condition for coalition formation is defined by a mathematical model that solves the problem of global optimization of the objective function. The problem of synthesizing the agent-based system was formulated, and the mathematical model for negotiating the coalition formation process was developed. The process of initiation, dialogue and coalition formation is presented based on the sequence diagram. For structural modeling, Membrane Computation (P-systems) models are used that highlight the parallelism and topology of the Multi-Agent system. The Agent structure is defined as a collection of knowledge (data and processing methods) and input/output ports. The functional validation of the Agent and the Multi-Agent system was performed based on the Timed Petri Nets. © 2023 IEEE.

Traditional visual-inertial Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) systems predominantly rely on feature point matching from a single robot to realize the robot pose estimation and environment map construction. However, in complex scenarios, these traditional systems struggle with issues, such as tracking failures due to illumination changes, rapid movements, and low-texture environments, and they perform poorly in terms of mapping efficiency and global consistency. To address these challenges, we propose a centralized collaborative SLAM system that employs both point and line features for tracking in the robot and map fusion in the cloud. The proposed system leverages the fusion of point and line features across all instances in the process, which allows our method to achieve higher localization accuracy in structured, low-texture scenes. With the aid of classifying gravity-aligned vertical lines and spatial parallel lines, the proposed system can deliver faster and more accurate odometry in complex scenes. Furthermore, we developed intrarobot and interrobot loop closure detection methods based on point and line features, generating a globally consistent sparse point cloud and structured scene map in the cloud. Our method is able to build richer maps while improving accuracy compared to existing methods. Experimental results on public datasets and in real-world environments show that, compared to existing advanced methods, our approach demonstrates better performance. © 2014 IEEE.

Multi-objective decision making systems based on Spatial-Temporal logics presents a class of computational systems based on Artificial Intelligence in which spatial location and time evolution of processes (events) are taken into account. Multi-objective decision making systems showcase a distributed computing architecture based on Agents (Computational Nodes) that form a network for data processing. The functionality of the decision making system is based on events that are spatially and temporally localized. The set of Agents, based on the events, calculates its influence coefficient on the decision taken by the Agent. An Agent can generate both decisions, which lead to personal qualitative evolution, and events that will be processed by other Agents. This work elaborates the following: the multi-objective decision system diagram, the communication model between Agents, the set of operators for spatial-temporal logic, and the model for optimal solution search in event space. © 2023 IEEE.
