We introduce DiaSet, a novel dataset of dialectical Arabic speech, manually transcribed and annotated for two specific downstream tasks: sentiment analysis and named entity recognition. The dataset encapsulates the Palestine dialect, predominantly spoken in Palestine, Israel, and Jordan. Our dataset incorporates authentic conversations between YouTube influencers and their respective guests. Furthermore, we have enriched the dataset with simulated conversations initiated by inviting participants from various locales within the said regions. The participants were encouraged to engage in dialogues with our interviewer. Overall, DiaSet consists of 644.8K tokens and 23.2K annotated instances. Uniform writing standards were upheld during the transcription process. Additionally, we established baseline models by leveraging some of the pre-existing Arabic BERT language models, showcasing the potential applications and efficiencies of our dataset. As the importance of sustainable practices in the automobile sector grows, it's critical to anticipate motorcycle prices and offerings. With so many variables to consider when buying a secondhand motorcycle-condition, mileage, brand reputation, model characteristics, etc.-accurate pricing prediction is essential for both customers looking for good values and sellers hoping to maximize profits. This study investigates the effectiveness of four machine learning techniques Decision Tree models, Support Vector Regression (SVR), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) Regressions-in predicting motorcycle prices using a dataset obtained from motorcycle merchants. It's noteworthy that these methods are used with a hybrid architecture to improve prediction accuracy. Different approaches are compared and contrasted to find the best fit for the given dataset, and the difficulties and roadblocks that come with them are also discussed. After extensive testing, the decision tree model's effectiveness is shown with an amazing 97% accuracy rate, providing accurate price estimates that are essential for encouraging sustainable habits in the ever-changing Internet of Things environment. With an impressive accuracy rate, this methodology provides precise pricing estimations, which are critical for supporting sustainable practices in the automotive industry. © 2024 IEEE.

Recent geometric-based approaches have been shown to efficiently model complex logical queries (including the intersection operation) over Knowledge Graphs based on the natural representation of Venn diagram. Existing geometric-based models (using points, boxes embeddings), however, cannot handle the logical negation operation. Further, those using cones embeddings are limited to representing queries by two-dimensional shapes, which reduced their effectiveness in capturing entities query relations for correct answers. To overcome this challenge, we propose unbounded cylinder embeddings (namely CylE), which is a novel geometric-based model based on three-dimensional shapes. Our approach can handle a complete set of basic first-order logic operations (conjunctions, disjunctions and negations). CylE considers queries as Cartesian products of unbounded sector-cylinders and consider a set of nearest boxes corresponds to the set of answer entities. Precisely, the conjunctions can be represented via the intersections of unbounded sector-cylinders. Transforming queries to Disjunctive Normal Form can handle queries with disjunctions. The negations can be represented by considering the closure of complement for an arbitrary unbounded sector-cylinder. Empirical results show that the performance of multi-hop reasoning task using CylE significantly increases over state-of-the-art geometric-based query embedding models for queries without negation. For queries with negation operations, though the performance is on a par with the best performing geometric-based model, CylE significantly outperforms a recent distribution-based model. © 2023 Association for Computational Linguistics.

An Experimental Study on the Deviations in Performance of FNNS and CNNS in the Realm of Grayscale Adversarial Images

Convolutional Neural Networks, CNNs are known for their unparalleled accuracy in the classification of benign images. It is observed that neural networks are prone to having lesser accuracy in the classification of images with noise perturbation. The following study resulted in inferences to establish that CNNs are extremely vulnerable at predicting noisy images while Feed-forward Neural Networks, FNNs are least affected due to noise perturbation, maintaining their accuracy almost undisturbed. FNNs showcase better classification accuracy when tested with noise-intensive, single-channelled images that are just sheer noise to human vision. The hand-written digit images from the MNIST dataset t are classified using the architectures of FNNs with 1 and 2 hidden layers and CNNs with 3, 4, 6, and 8 convolutions, which provide the stated experimental inferences. Deviations in the performances of these architectures analyzed systematically propose that FNNs stand out to show a classification accuracy of more than 85%, irrespective of the intensity of noise and CNNs witness a trend in the reduction in speed of classification accuracy against increasing noise intensities. Correlation analysis and mathematical modelling of the accuracy trends act as roadmaps to picture that the change in the speed of classification accuracy against increasing noise intensities for CNN with 8 convolutions is half of that of the rest of the CNNs. This experimental study is a step to quantify the performance of deep learning image classification models in the context of adversarial images. © 2023 School of science, IHU. All rights reserved.

Colored Petri nets (CPNs) provide descriptions of the concurrent behaviors for software and hardware. Model checking based on CPNs is an effective method to simulate and verify the concurrent behavior in system design. However, the model-checking method traverses the full state space, which suffers from the state-space explosion problem. A reduced state-space generation method related to the property of concurrent systems is proposed. Specifically, we extend CPNs to define a property-related model (CPN-PR) and give a property-related analysis method whose results can be used to generate the CPN-PR model. A reduced state-space generation method is developed based on enabled binding element filtering rules. The stutter trace equivalence between the state spaces of CPN and CPN-PR has been proven by showing that the reduced state space may not change the model-checking result. A comparison experiment is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

Road cavities, often called potholes, pose a major problem for our transportation infrastructure, causing accidents, costly repairs, and traffic jamming. This study shows using a computer vision technique called You Only Look Once (YOLO) to find potholes on roads. YOLO is proficient and efficient for realtime object detection. The researchers want to see which version of YOLO is more effective in object analysis in pictures and videos. We'll be comparing YOLOv5, YOLOv7, and YOLOv8, thereby also setting up the system in Gazebo simulated environment. By carefully analyzing the results, we aim to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each YOLO version. This will help us see the most useful ones for finding potholes when managing and maintaining roads. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to provide more comprehensive medical services and personalized health monitoring according to individual needs, Body Area Networks (BANs) have been extensively studied by many researchers. As BANs involve the transmission of personal private data, the security of the communication is of utmost importance. Unfortunately, existing encryption techniques cannot be directly applied with the limited power or computation ability of the sensors in BANs. An alternative direction is to use physiological signals for key agreement. However, many of the current physiological signal-based key agreement schemes either have high overheads or are vulnerable to certain security issues. In this paper, we proposed a novel secret sharing and Bloom filter based key agreement scheme that balances overhead and security for BANs. Also, we use an approximate hash table to free ourselves from the problem of dependence on the ordering of features, which has been neglected by previous researchers. We validate the security of our scheme with based on real datasets and compare overheads with other solutions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
