Medical report generation is crucial for clinical diagnosis and patient management, summarizing diagnoses and recommendations based on medical imaging. However, existing work often overlook the clinical pipeline involved in report writing, where physicians typically conduct an initial quick review followed by a detailed examination. Moreover, current alignment methods may lead to misaligned relationships. To address these issues, we propose DAMPER, a dual-stage framework for medical report generation that mimics the clinical pipeline of report writing in two stages. In the first stage, a MeSH-Guided Coarse-Grained Alignment (MCG) stage that aligns chest X-ray (CXR) image features with medical subject headings (MeSH) features to generate a rough keyphrase representation of the overall impression. In the second stage, a Hypergraph-Enhanced Fine-Grained Alignment (HFG) stage that constructs hypergraphs for image patches and report annotations, modeling high-order relationships within each modality and performing hypergraph matching to capture semantic correlations between image regions and textual phrases. Finally,the coarse-grained visual features, generated MeSH representations, and visual hypergraph features are fed into a report decoder to produce the final medical report. Extensive experiments on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of DAMPER in generating comprehensive and accurate medical reports, outperforming state-of-the-art methods across various evaluation metrics. The ability to interpret spoken language is connected to natural language processing. It involves teaching the AI how words relate to one another, how they are meant to be used, and in what settings. The goal of natural language processing (NLP) is to get a machine intelligence to process words the same way a human brain does. This enables machine intelligence to interpret, arrange, and comprehend textual data by processing the natural language. The technology can comprehend what is communicated, whether it be through speech or writing because AI pro-cesses language more quickly than humans can. In the present study, five NLP algorithms, namely, Geneism, Sumy, Luhn, Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA), and Kull-back-Liebler (KL) al-gorithm, are implemented for the first time for the knowledge summarization purpose of the High Entropy Alloys (HEAs). The performance prediction of these algorithms is made by using the BLEU score and ROUGE score. The results showed that the Luhn algorithm has the highest accuracy score for the knowledge summarization tasks compared to the other used algorithms. © 2023, CC BY.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR), with its large patient population, has become a formidable threat to human visual health. In the clinical diagnosis of DR, multi-view fundus images are considered to be more suitable for DR diagnosis because of the wide coverage of the field of view. Therefore, different from the previous single-view DR grading methods, we design a dynamic selection-driven multi-view DR grading method to fit clinical scenarios better. Since lesion information plays a key role in DR diagnosis, previous methods usually boost the model performance by enhancing the lesion feature. However, during the actual diagnosis, ophthalmologists not only focus on the crucial parts, but also exclude irrelevant features to ensure the accuracy of judgment. To this end, we introduce the idea of dynamic selection and design a series of selection mechanisms from fine granularity to coarse granularity. In this work, we first introduce an Ophthalmic Image Reader (OIR) agent to provide the model with pixel-level prompts of suspected lesion areas. Moreover, we design a Multi-View Token Selection Module (MVTSM) that prunes redundant feature tokens and dynamically selects key information. In the final decision stage, we dynamically fuse multi-view features through the novel Multi-View Mixture of Experts Module (MVMoEM), to enhance key views and reduce the impact of conflicting views. Extensive experiments on a large multi-view fundus image dataset with 34,452 images prove that our method performs favorably against state-of-the-art models. Personal digital data is a critical asset, and governments worldwide have enforced laws and regulations to protect data privacy. data users have been endowed with the 'right to be forgotten' of their data. In the course of machine learning (ML), the forgotten right requires a model provider to delete user data and its subsequent impact on ML models upon user requests. Machine unlearning emerges to address this, which has garnered ever-increasing attention from both industry and academia. While the area has developed rapidly, there is a lack of comprehensive surveys to capture the latest advancements. Recognizing this shortage, we conduct an extensive exploration to map the landscape of machine unlearning including the (fine-grained) taxonomy of unlearning algorithms under centralized and distributed settings, debate on approximate unlearning, verification and evaluation metrics, challenges and solutions for unlearning under different applications, as well as attacks targeting machine unlearning. Fuzzy Granule Density-Based Outlier Detection with Multi-Scale Granular Balls

Outlier detection refers to the identification of anomalous samples that deviate significantly from the distribution of normal data and has been extensively studied and used in a variety of practical tasks. However, most unsupervised outlier detection methods are carefully designed to detect specified outliers, while real-world data may be entangled with different types of outliers. In this study, we propose a fuzzy rough sets-based multi-scale outlier detection method to identify various types of outliers. Specifically, a novel fuzzy rough sets-based method that integrates relative fuzzy granule density is first introduced to improve the capability of detecting local outliers. Then, a multi-scale view generation method based on granular-ball computing is proposed to collaboratively identify group outliers at different levels of granularity. Moreover, reliable outliers and inliers determined by the three-way decision are used to train a weighted support vector machine to further improve the performance of outlier detection. The proposed method innovatively transforms unsupervised outlier detection into a semi-supervised classification problem and for the first time explores the fuzzy rough sets-based outlier detection from the perspective of multi-scale granular balls, allowing for high adaptability to different types of outliers. Extensive experiments carried out on both artificial and UCI datasets demonstrate that the proposed outlier detection method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods, improving the results by at least 8.48% in terms of the Area Under the ROC Curve (AUROC) index. With the rapid development of the COVID-19 epidemic, people are prone to panic due to delayed and incomplete information received. In order to quickly identify the sentiments of massive Internet users, it provides a good reference for government agencies to formulate healthy public opinion guidance strategies. This paper proposes a novel sentiment classification based on 'word-phrase' attention mechanism (SC-WPAtt). On the basis of TCN, we propose a shallow feature extraction model based on the word attention mechanism, and a deep extraction model based on the phrase attention mechanism. These models can effectively mine the auxiliary information contained in words, phrases (i.e. combined words) and overall comments, as well as their different contributions, so as to achieve more accurate emotion classification. Experiments show that the performance of the SC-WPAtt method proposed in this paper is better than that of the HN-Att method. © 2021 IEEE.

In recent years, the refinements in industrial processes and the increasing complexity of managing privacy-sensitive data in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices have highlighted the need for secure, robust, and adaptive data management solutions. In this work, we propose a smart contract-assisted access control scheme for IIoT, which employs the Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) model to set access permissions for different industrial components. Besides, we defined a storage model and data format for private data by designing and deploying smart contracts to manage system operations and access policies. In addition, the bloom filter component is deployed to optimize the efficiency of contract management and system performance. Experimental results show that in real-world simulations, Hyper-IIoT demonstrates excellent contract execution time control, stable system throughput, and rapid consensus processes that are capable of handling high throughput and efficient consensus in distributed systems, even in large-scale request scenarios. © 2016 IEEE.

To support critical applications or guarantee a high quality of service, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) generally deploy a technique called routing protection algorithm for local fast rerouting. Alternate next hops are stored alongside with the default next hops in a router’s forwarding table, and can be immediately activated to invoke a loop free repair path in face of link or node failures, or used for multipath transmission. However, the existing routing protection methods either cannot protect all possible single-failure scenarios in the network or needs the assistance of an auxiliary address. In response to the above problems, the present study proposes a single-failure routing protection algorithm based on hop by hop routing (SPA). The algorithm has the following three advantages: (1) supports hop-by-hop forwarding, (2) supports incremental deployment, and (3) can protect all possible singlefailure scenarios in the network as long as network keep connected. Extensive simulations show that, compared to the state-of-the-art schemes which are adopted by the industry, SPA not only can handle arbitrary single-failure situations in the network but also has a small path stretch. These advantages make SPA a good candidate for practical solution for IP fast reroute when network failure occurs. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Research in the field of dynamic behaviors in neural networks with variable-order differences is currently a thriving area, marked by various significant discoveries. However, when it comes to discrete-time neural networks featuring fractional variable-order nonlocal and nonsingular kernels, there has been limited exploration. This paper stands as one of the initial contributions to this subject, focusing primarily on the topics of stability and synchronization in finite-time within discrete neural networks. The research employs the nabla ABC variable-order difference operator, with a primary approach involving the investigation of a novel Gronwall inequality using the Atangana-Baleanu difference variable-order sum operator. This analysis leads to the development of a uniqueness theorem and a criterion for the stability in finite-time of variable-order discrete neural networks. Furthermore, the requirements stemming from this type of stability and the novel Gronwall inequality serve as the foundation for establishing the conditions necessary for achieving finite-time synchronization in these networks, employing a specific control using state feedback method. Finally, the study utilizes numerical solutions to validate the obtained results.

In response to the phenomenon of hate speech on popular social media such as Facebook, a number of researchers have investigated and developed different automated techniques in order to detect and moderate hate speech. Reliable hate speech detection tools ranging from traditional machine learning models to deep neural network models have been developed and deployed for resource rich languages such as English, French and Arabic. On the Other hand, the topic of building automated techniques for hate speech detection in Afaan Oromo is still the subject of very limited studies. In this study, we have used pretrained word embedding approaches such as word2vec and fast text, and assessed their effectiveness for hateful speech recognition and classification in Afaan Oromo text comments on Facebook. By using the proposed model, the effectiveness of deep learning algorithms like CNN and LSTM was also assessed. Moreover, the significance of one of the recent topic modeling approaches, i.e., BERTopic, has been investigated to in extracting topics that can help the categorization of Afaan Oromo hate speech. Afaan Oromo Multilabel Hateful Speech Detection and dataset (AOMLHSDD), which contains 30728 text comments, was created after we employed the BERTopic to extract relevant topics. Accordingly, Then, we have conducted different experiments to test the effectiveness of CNN and LSTM models by using word2vec and fast text. The result of our experiments has shown showed that LSTM has outperformed the CNN approach by achieving the accuracy of 98.32%.
