Cancer Liver cancer is difficult to detect and diagnose early. Machine learning has improved liver cancer diagnosis in recent years. This abstract describes a novel liver cancer detection and classification method using Autoencoder-Extreme Learning Machine (AE-ELM) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) technology. AE-ELM models extract features in the suggested method. The autoencoder-extreme learning machine AE-ELM technique learns high-level abstract characteristics from incoming data. AE-ELM extracts liver cancer-specific features by reducing the dimensionality of input data. A CNN model classifies the extracted features. CNNs are good at detecting spatial patterns in medical pictures like CT and MRI scans. The CNN model learns hierarchical representations of input information and classifies them into liver cancer subtypes or stages using various convolutional and pooling processes. AE-ELM and CNN are advantageous. First, AE-ELM decreases input data dimensionality to extract critical features without manual feature engineering. This simplifies feature selection and improves the model’s capacity to handle big data. Second, the CNN model uses hierarchical convolutional processes to capture subtle patterns and spatial correlations in input data, enhancing liver cancer classification accuracy. The proposed liver cancer diagnostic method works in experiments. AE-ELM and CNN models outperform classic machine learning approaches and standalone CNN models. Improved liver cancer detection accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity help healthcare practitioners make quick and precise diagnosis. Finally, AE-ELM and CNN technologies can identify and classify liver cancer. This unique strategy uses both models to extract relevant characteristics and capture complicated patterns, improving liver cancer diagnosis accuracy and efficiency. To evaluate this approach’s therapeutic promise and application in real-world healthcare settings, additional datasets are needed.

The industrial maintenance activities represent an increase in production costs, mainly caused by unnecessary production stops. Recent technologies approaches are handling the continuous monitoring of industrial machines, storing sensors data, and also maintenance history. More data analysis is necessary specifically for rotating machines presenting methodologies to reduce the maintenance. In order to handle this problem, a comparative analysis of machine learning methods is presented. The strategy aims to predict failures and then indicates the maintenance necessity before a break occurs. Thus, it is applied and analyzed the specific machine learning algorithms, Gradient Boosting and Random Forest, using a dataset of rotation machines. The results show that both methods have an excellent performance (metrics accuracy, precision, and recall), with slightly better results in Gradient Boosting (hit rate of 99.93%) indicating the prominent application of these algorithms in this industrial scenario.

This work is devoted to the study of the features of functioning in Collaborative Human-AI Decision-Making systems with numerical channels. The system operates in automatic mode without external influences. The channels can be both artificial intelligence software and competent experts giving conclusions on the question under study. The cases considered are those in which an agreed solution must be numerical and logical. For each of these cases, decision rules for the system have been developed. The developed rules include the ability to take into account the reliability of the channels, which allows expanding their number in the system if necessary.

For each smart home, the need of energy consumption supervision is necessary, which plays an important role to ensure the highest power quality and to enhance the stability of the whole grid. The current document implements a smart home supply strategy based on endless resources to reduce the electricity bill and confirm the energy balance. In this context, a proposed supervision algorithm operates in eight cases to reach optimal energy flow between renewable generators, home battery and grid in a smart home concept is presented. The system is evaluated using the framework “Business Process Model and Notation” (BPMN) Camunda basing on information stored in Firebase Cloud and results are presented in order to manifest the efficiency of this control strategy.

Pattern recognition in vital signs using spectrograms

— Spectrograms visualize the frequency components of a given signal which may be an audio signal or even a time-series signal. Audio signals have higher sampling rate and high variability of frequency with time. Spectrograms can capture such variations well. But, vital signs which are time-series signals have less sampling frequency and low-frequency variability due to which, spectrograms fail to express variations and patterns. In this paper, we propose a novel solution to introduce frequency variability using frequency modulation on vital signs. Then we apply spectrograms on frequency modulated signals to capture the patterns. The proposed approach has been evaluated on 4 different medical datasets across both prediction and classification tasks. Significant results are found showing the efficacy of the approach for vital sign signals. The results from the proposed approach are promising with an accuracy of 91.55% and 91.67% in prediction and classification tasks respectively. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) is an automated method for generating, manipulating, and modifying valuable and diverse data using AI algorithms creatively. This survey paper focuses on the deployment of AIGC applications, e.g., ChatGPT and Dall-E, at mobile edge networks, namely mobile AIGC networks, that provide personalized and customized AIGC services in real time while maintaining user privacy. We begin by introducing the background and fundamentals of generative models and the lifecycle of AIGC services at mobile AIGC networks, which includes data collection, training, fine-tuning, inference, and product management. We then discuss the collaborative cloud-edge-mobile infrastructure and technologies required to support AIGC services and enable users to access AIGC at mobile edge networks. Furthermore, we explore AIGC-driven creative applications and use cases for mobile AIGC networks. Additionally, we discuss the implementation, security, and privacy challenges of deploying mobile AIGC networks. Quantum computing (QC) is no longer only a scientific interest but is rapidly becoming an industrially available technology that can potentially tackle the limitations of classical computing. Over the last few years, major technology giants have invested in developing hardware and programming frameworks to develop quantum-specific applications. QC hardware technologies are gaining momentum, however, operationalizing the QC technologies trigger the need for software-intensive methodologies, techniques, processes, tools, roles, and responsibilities for developing industrial-centric quantum software applications. This paper presents the vision of the quantum software engineering (QSE) life cycle consisting of quantum requirements engineering, quantum software design, quantum software implementation, quantum software testing, and quantum software maintenance. This paper particularly calls for joint contributions of software engineering research and industrial community to present real-world solutions to support the entire quantum software development activities. Autonomous driving has been gaining a lot of attention in the field of transportation technology in recent years. The use of autonomous vehicles has the potential to reduce the number of road accidents caused by human error, improve traffic flow, increase fuel efficiency and save time for travelers. In federated learning systems, selecting trustworthy autonomous vehicles (AVs) to participate in training is critical for ensuring system performance and reliability. In this work, we propose a trust-aware approach to AV selection that incorporates the performance of each AV using the Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME) method and One-Shot Federated Learning. We modify the XAI LIME Deep Q-learning-based AV selection model to include the trust metric, resulting in the Trust-Aware XAI LIME Deep Q-learning-based AV selection model. Our experiments show that the trust-aware approach outperforms the standard approach in terms of both accuracy and reliability, demonstrating the effectiveness of incorporating trust metrics in AV selection.

Thanks to the efficient retrieval speed and low storage consumption, learning to hash has been widely used in visual retrieval tasks. However, the known hashing methods assume that the query and retrieval samples lie in homogeneous feature space within the same domain. As a result, they cannot be directly applied to heterogeneous cross-domain retrieval. In this paper, we propose a Generalized Image Transfer Retrieval (GITR) problem, which encounters two crucial bottlenecks: 1) the query and retrieval samples may come from different domains, leading to an inevitable domain distribution gap;2) the features of the two domains may be heterogeneous or misaligned, bringing up an additional feature gap. To address the GITR problem, we propose an Asymmetric Transfer Hashing (ATH) framework with its unsupervised/semi-supervised/supervised realizations. Specifically, ATH characterizes the domain distribution gap by the discrepancy between two asymmetric hash functions, and minimizes the feature gap with the help of a novel adaptive bipartite graph constructed on cross-domain data. By jointly optimizing asymmetric hash functions and the bipartite graph, not only can knowledge transfer be achieved but information loss caused by feature alignment can also be avoided. Meanwhile, to alleviate negative transfer, the intrinsic geometrical structure of single-domain data is preserved by involving a domain affinity graph. Extensive experiments on both single-domain and cross-domain benchmarks under different GITR subtasks indicate the superiority of our ATH method in comparison with the state-of-the-art hashing methods. A Vision of DevOps Requirements Change Management Standardization

DevOps (development and operations) aims to shorten the software development process and provide continuous delivery with high software quality. To get the potential gains of DevOps, the software development industry considering global software development (GSD) environment to hire skilled human resources and round-the-clock working hours. However, due to the lack of frequent communication and coordination in GSD, the planning and managing of the requirements change process becomes a challenging task. As in DevOps, requirements are not only shaped by development feedback but also by the operations team. This means requirements affect development, development affects operations and operations affect requirements. However, DevOps in GSD still faces many challenges in terms of requirement management. The purpose of this research project is to develop a DevOps requirement change management and implementation maturity model (DevOps-RCMIMM) that could assist the GSD organizations in modifying and improving their requirement management process in the DevOps process. The development of DevOps-RCMIMM will be based on the existing DevOps and RCM literature, industrial empirical study, and understanding of factors that could impact the implementation of the DevOps requirement change management process in the domain of GSD.
