In the age of AI, mobile architectures such as smartphones are still "cold machines"; machines do not feel. If the architecture is able to feel users' feelings and runtime user experience (UX), it will accordingly adapt performance/energy to find the optimal system-operating state that consumes the least energy to satisfy users. In this paper, we will utilize users' facial expressions (FEs) to learn their runtime UX. We know that FEs are the natural and direct way for humans to convey their emotions and feelings. Our study reveals that FEs also reflect UX. Our research for the first time quantifies the link between FEs and UX. Leveraging this link, the architecture will be able to use the front camera to see FEs and feel users' UX. Based on UX, the architecture can appropriately provision computing resources. We propose Vi-energy system to realize the above idea. Our evaluation shows that Vi-energy reduces energy consumption by 52.9% at maximum and secures UX.

The autonomous number plate detection system plays a crucial role in modern transportation, law enforcement, and security infrastructure. Technical approaches using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision are actively researched to achieve ease of maintenance through real-time vehicle detection. The recent development has drastically improved the accuracy of object detection and recognition systems in deep neural networks. Using these techniques, vehicle number plates can easily be detected autonomously for vehicle identification and tracking. Here, we have used a custom-trained TensorFlow-based number plate detection method to autonomously detect vehicles using images captured by a smartphone, or surveillance camera. It showed an impressive mAP @ 0.5 of 95%, and demonstrated limitations in long-distance detection, leading us to designate it as the optimal vehicle detection model for accuracy. We designed and developed an autonomous number plate detection system for vehicle identification and tracking, which includes web-based, android-based, and embedded-based applications. In addition, we evaluated the proposed autonomous number plate detection system with real-time images and videos. The proposed system achieved real-time vehicle detection and tracking, boasting a commendable 90% detection accuracy.

A process of expert evaluation of actions based on complex methodology is reviewed in this article. The methods of questionnaire, expert evaluations, multi-variation problem of optimal alternative were used. Authors explained the methods of expert evaluations, e.g. Delphi method, as the good forecasting tool for region competitiveness improvement measures based on achievement of optimal balance of supply and demand of human resources. As a result of applied methodology, the main measures for rational usage of human resources in region competitiveness improvement were selected. Application of obtained results and proposed methodology allows to improve the region economic management. Authors came to the conclusion that measures for development of human resources as region competitive advantage are referred to quality education, healthcare, effective migration policy as base for labour efficiency improvement and reducing the shortage of skilled manpower. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of technology-based interventions on academic performance. To achieve this purpose a systematic review was conducted. Within the scope of this study EBSCO, Springer, ProQuest, Science Direct, Wiley Online Library, Taylor and Francis Online, databases were scanned, and 18 studies were included in the review. Our results show that the iPad is the most preferred digital device for enhancing math and reading skills and significant results can be seen when used. Similar positive effects were observed with other technological devices, reinforcing the effectiveness of technology as a tool for supporting academic performance. This evidence underscores the value of incorporating digital devices in educational strategies, particularly for improving key academic skills.

The increasing demand for IoT devices in industries has generated a high level of cybersecurity threats, with botnets including Mozi exploiting poor passwords and unpatched vulnerabilities to target networked infrastructure. Peer-to-peer (P2P) topology of Mozi, employing distributed Hash Tables (DHTs) for Command-and-Control (C2) communications, makes it resistant to takedown operations and capable of high-scale distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack, data exfiltration, and remote command execution. Traditional one-class, machine learning techniques such as OneClass Support Vector Machine (OCSVM) and Local Outlier Factor (LOF) have been widely used for discovering malwarerelated anomalies. However, such techniques require high labelled training datasets, whose availability in dynamically changing environments of malwares proves challenging. In this work, an AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA)-based mechanism for discovering time-series anomalies in IoT-infected devices with Mozi infection is proposed. In an experimental setup using a Raspberry Pi running Pi-hole, baseline profiles of CPU consumption, RAM usage, and network activity are first established under normal conditions. Next, a system is subjected to a simulation of infection with Mozi malware and monitored for deviation with ARIMA forecasting and Local Outlier Factor (LOF) for discovering anomalies. By comparing predicted values with actual values, effective intrusion detection for malware-related anomalies is attained, providing a real-time, adaptive mechanism for early intrusion detection. In conclusion, with its effectiveness in discovering stealthy behaviour of malwares, employing ARIMA for discovering time-series anomalies in IoTinfected devices proves effective, and its employment in IoT cybersecurity aids in providing real-time mechanism for discovering threats for system admins and security professionals. The following algorithms for constructing predictive models of key quality indicators of polymer film materials are considered and implemented: adaptive boosting of decision trees (AdaBoost), recurrent neural network of long short-term memory (LSTM). The characteristics of production data and the stages of their preparation for the construction of predictive models are presented. The comparison of trained predictive models for the defect by the number of black dots per m2 of the film web is carried out by various algorithms according to the main metrics: precision, recall, f1-score, to identify the best depending on the production data.

A methodology for evaluating information security (IS) for a distributed computer network (DCN) of a university (hereinafter referred to as UDCN) has been proposed. A mathematical model for calculating the UDCN vulnerability factor has been presented. The UDCN vulnerability coefficient makes it possible to assess its IS level at the UDCN design stage. The results of simulation modeling and virtualization of IS UDCN components have also been presented. In the course of simulation modeling, a model of a protected UDCN was designed and tested. In the experimental UDCN model, the network devices selected in the course of modeling the vulnerability coefficient were emulated on virtual machines (VMs). UDCN resources were reproduced using the Proxmox VE virtualization system. On the UDCN hosts running PVE, the Suricata Intrusion Detection System (IPS) was used. Splunk was used as SIEM.

This study presents a comprehensive benchmarking analysis of cryptographic protocols for Internet of Things (IoT) malware defense. The framework was specifically tailored to evaluate cryptographic protocols such as AES-128, AES-256, ChaCha20, RSA (1024-bit, 2048-bit, and 4096-bit), SHA256, SHA512, and HMAC-SHA256 were tested in both standalone and emulated environments. The primary objective was to evaluate the performance and resource consumption of these protocols, focusing on their encryption and hashing efficiency. Key innovations include the comparative analysis of resource consumption and performance efficiency across diverse cryptographic operations, under both real-world and emulated conditions. By identifying protocols like ChaCha20 for high efficiency and minimal resource usage, and RSA 4096-bit for enhanced security at higher computational costs, this study provides actionable insights into the trade-offs between security and performance. These findings offer a foundational reference for selecting optimized cryptographic protocols, advancing IoT malware defense strategies through informed decision-making.

This one-day hybrid workshop builds on previous feminist CSCW workshops to explore feminist theoretical and methodological approaches that have provided us with useful tools to see things differently and make space for change. Since its inception over a decade ago, feminist HCI has progressed from the margins to mainstream HCI, with numerous references in the literature. Feminist HCI has also evolved to incorporate other critical HCI practices such as Queer HCI, participatory design, and speculative design. While feminist approaches have grown in popularity and become mainstream, it is getting more difficult to distinguish the feminist emancipatory core from other attempts of developing and improving society in various ways. In this workshop, we therefore want to revisit our feminist roots, where theory is a liberatory and creative practice, motivated by affect, curiosity, and wonder. From this standpoint, we consider which of our feminist tools can make a significant difference today, in a highly datafied world. The goal of this workshop is to;1) create an inventory of feminist theories and concepts that have had an impact on our work as designers, educators, researchers, and activists;2) develop a feminist toolbox for the CSCW community to strengthen our feminist literacy. © 2023 Owner/Author.

Mobile Ad-Hoc network is a self-configuring and multi-hop collection of mobile devices for making successful communication. The wireless and mobile communication process are encountered based on bandwidth, process control and energy conception. Energy conception is considered and dynamically changed to rely on life time of batteries and power. The life time of battery get exhausted very quickly the nodes are moved and changed rapidly across the network. This paper noticed the problem of life time of power, batteries and energy consumption problem in various routing stages. The proposed Intelligent Gen Algorithm is used to get optimal solution for ensuring high robustness, flexibility and Energy consumption factor. It presents a common framework to balance various routing requirements in MANETs dynamically. The following are the main contributions includes, i. introducing Intelligent GEN Algorithms to classify the throughout bandwidth, delay, data ratio. ii. Various routing performance are evaluated and viewed by speed, packetize and simulation time. The comparison evaluated by select routing algorithm using NS-2. The simulation results are recorded and the performance is monitored by using on demand access protocl. The result clearly demonstrated the proposed Intelligent Gen algorithm used in self-organized manner by wireless channel.
