To address the problem that traditional emotion recognition methods using only text data fail to adequately explore emotional information, unimodal data lacks comprehensive information and, therefore, fails to sufficiently reflect the true emotional state. Therefore, we propose an emotion recognition model with image-text fusion. First, the model uses pre-trained models uses pre-trained Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) and ResNet to extract features from text data and image data, respectively. The final feature representation vectors of images and text are combined using a later fusion approach, and finally, Softmax performs emotion recognition. Comparative experimental results show that our model outperforms both unimodal and other multimodal models on emotion recognition tasks.

Blockchain technology has garnered increasing attention from researchers. Because blockchain systems may contain malicious or spatially limited nodes that may delay block verification and reduce block transmission rate, this work proposes a block transmission model by designing and using special clusters. This work proposes the cluster formation and selection mechanisms. Nodes are grouped into clusters in a blockchain, and clusters with high fitness values are chosen to transmit blocks by calculating their trust values and block transmission rates. The proposed method is compared with the peers: Layer-Chain, BlockP2P-EP and RNS. According to experimental findings, the proposed method is superior to its peers regarding the time needed for block synchronization and transmission, block occupation storage ratio, transaction throughput, and block transmission success ratio. © 2024 IEEE.

The Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) system located close to the client allows mobile smart devices to offload their computations onto edge servers, enabling them to benefit from low-latency computing services. Both cloud service providers and users seek more comprehensive solutions, necessitating judicious decisions in service deployment and task offloading while balancing multiple objectives. This study investigates service deployment and task offloading challenges in a multi-user environment, framing them as a multi-task high-dimensional multi-objective optimization (MT-HD-MOO) problem within an edge environment. To ensure stable service provisioning, beyond considering latency, energy consumption, and cost as deployment objectives, network reliability is also incorporated. Furthermore, to promote equitable usage of edge servers, load balancing is introduced as a fourth task offloading objective, in addition to latency, energy consumption, and cost. Additionally, this paper designs a MT-HD-MOO algorithm based on a multi-selection strategy to address this model and its solution. By employing diverse selection strategies, an environment selection strategy pool is established to enhance population diversity within the high-dimensional objective space. With fast development of Cyber Physical System, the variety and volume of data generated from different edge servers are fairly considerable. Mining and exploiting the data would definitely bring huge advantages. However, there are two major issues exposed in the process. First, utilizing the data with high efficiency is challenging in edge computing environment. Second, data from multiple edge servers often contain sensitive information such as user preferences, which will give rise to privacy breach risks when using the data. Locality-Sensitive Hashing and amplified technology are utilized for dealing with two problems. In this paper, we propose a novel privacy-protection approach named SRchain-LSH in edge computing environment which is based on amplified Locality-Sensitive Hashing technique. In order to verify high accuracy and efficiency of our proposal, large sets of experiments are conducted. According to experimental results, our proposal shows better performance than those of comparative methods in terms of MAE , RMSE and time costs. For our method, the best value of MAE is about 0.41 and time cost is about 0.1 seconds, which are more accurate and efficient than comparative methods. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years, robots have gradually entered life from the factory. Since robots that can move autonomously can improve the productivity of personnel, mobile robots are even more commonly used. With the advancement of hardware technology, improving the performance of LIDAR and depth cameras and reducing the required cost, robots can be equipped with these devices to make positioning and movement more accurate. This thesis implements an AMR robot on TurtleBot3 Burger by combining 2D LIDAR, RGBD camera and related safety devices. The data of 2D LIDAR is the input of SLAM and path planning, build 2D map and detect whether there are obstacles so that the robot can dodge;RGBD camera is used as the input of VSLAM, build 3D map, landmark database, show trajectory of the robot in 3D space and verify whether the robot has moved to the correct place. In the VSLAM algorithm, object detection and OCR technology are added to extract semantic data from the image. The 3D map and landmark database can provide users with more meaningful information. The landmark database can be used to compare the similarity of SURF features and SSIM with the images obtained when the robot is moving, to verify whether there is movement to the correct place, to improve the accuracy of the robot's movement. The state lights, anti-falling, power detection and warning voice implemented by Arduino and related sensors are used as the safety device of the robot, so that the robot can make higher safety during operation. © 2021 IEEE.

Fingerprint identification systems have been widely deployed in many occasions of our daily ***,together with many advantages,they are still vulnerable to the presentation attack(PA)by some counterfeit *** address challenges from PA,fingerprint liveness detection(FLD)technology has been proposed and gradually attracted people’s *** vast majority of the FLD methods directly employ convolutional neural network(CNN),and rarely pay attention to the problem of overparameterization and over-fitting of models,resulting in large calculation force of model deployment and poor model *** at filling this gap,this paper designs a lightweight multi-scale convolutional neural network method,and further proposes a novel hybrid spatial pyramid pooling block to extract abundant features,so that the number of model parameters is greatly reduced,and support multi-scale true/fake fingerprint ***,the representation self-challenge(RSC)method is used to train the model,and the attention mechanism is also adopted for optimization during execution,which alleviates the problem of model over-fitting and enhances generalization of detection ***,experimental results on two publicly benchmarks:LivDet2011 and LivDet2013 sets,show that our method achieves outstanding detection results for blind materials and *** size of the model parameters is only 548 KB,and the average detection error of cross-sensors and cross-materials are 15.22 and 1 respectively,reaching the highest level currently available.

Personalized federated learning (PFL) has garnered attention due to its capability to address statistical heterogeneity among clients. Typically, prevailing PFL methods aggregate a single global model for personalization, which may be inadequate for clients with diverse data distributions. Furthermore, in the local update, each private dataset is used to optimize the model independently, which increases the risk of overfitting the current data distribution and losing previously acquired knowledge, resulting in knowledge forgetting. In this study, personalized federated learning with multiple classifier aggregation is proposed. The method involves splitting the client model into its head and base, then optimizing them respectively using an alternating optimization strategy that first optimizes the head and then the base. Initially, to address the suboptimal model problem, the proposed approach aggregates multiple classifiers using data distribution and employs knowledge distillation to impart positive and negative classifier knowledge for learning the most suitable personalized model head. Additionally, to mitigate knowledge forgetting, a learnable personalization layer is introduced, and hidden loss is utilized to learn the knowledge of the global base and prevent overfitting of the model base. Empirical results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves competitive performance across various benchmarks, outperforming the majority of state-of-the-art PFL algorithms. Ensuring safety in smart buildings is crucial due to the increasing prevalence of smoke and fire hazards in modern environments. This paper introduces a novel privacy-preserving FL approach based on a CNN1D for smoke and fire detection in smart buildings. Our system integrates data from wearable environmental sensors to train a lightweight, edge-deployable DL-CNN1D model, ensuring data privacy while enabling collaborative learning across distributed clients using Federated Averaging (FedAvg) aggregation. Experiments conducted on a comprehensive air measurement dataset for smoke and fire detection demonstrate exceptional performance, with the global model achieving 99.97% accuracy, 99.96% precision, in smoke and fire recognition. Our model demonstrates a low communication cost of 0.4 MB, underscoring its efficiency for real-time applications. Our FL-based approach represents a significant step towards balancing the need for robust safety systems with growing privacy concerns in smart building environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Can Large Language Models Understand Intermediate Representations?

Intermediate Representations (IRs) are essential in compiler design and program analysis, yet their comprehension by Large Language Models (LLMs) remains underexplored. This paper presents a pioneering empirical study to investigate the capabilities of LLMs, including GPT-4, GPT-3, Gemma 2, LLaMA 3.1, and Code Llama, in understanding IRs. We analyze their performance across four tasks: Control Flow Graph (CFG) reconstruction, decompilation, code summarization, and execution reasoning. Our results indicate that while LLMs demonstrate competence in parsing IR syntax and recognizing high-level structures, they struggle with control flow reasoning, execution semantics, and loop handling. Specifically, they often misinterpret branching instructions, omit critical IR operations, and rely on heuristic-based reasoning, leading to errors in CFG reconstruction, IR decompilation, and execution reasoning. The study underscores the necessity for IR-specific enhancements in LLMs, recommending fine-tuning on structured IR datasets and integration of explicit control flow models to augment their comprehension and handling of IR-related tasks.1 © 2025, CC BY.
