Accurate forecasting for photovoltaic power generation is one of the key enablers for the integration of solar photovoltaic systems into power *** deep-learning-based methods can perform well if there are sufficient training data and enough computational ***,there are challenges in building models through centralized shared data due to data privacy concerns and industry *** learning is a new distributed machine learning approach which enables training models across edge devices while data reside *** this paper,we propose an efficient semi-asynchronous federated learning framework for short-term solar power forecasting and evaluate the framework performance using a CNN-LSTM *** design a personalization technique and a semi-asynchronous aggregation strategy to improve the efficiency of the proposed federated forecasting *** evaluations using a real-world dataset demonstrate that the federated models can achieve significantly higher forecasting performance than fully local models while protecting data privacy,and the proposed semi-asynchronous aggregation and the personalization technique can make the forecasting framework more robust in real-world scenarios.

Moving object segmentation(MOS),aiming at segmenting moving objects from video frames,is an important and challenging task in computer vision and with various *** the development of deep learning(DL),MOS has also entered the era of deep models toward spatiotemporal feature *** paper aims to provide the latest review of recent DL-based MOS methods proposed during the past three ***,we present a more up-to-date categorization based on model characteristics,then compare and discuss each category from feature learning(FL),and model training and evaluation *** FL,the methods reviewed are divided into three types:spatial FL,temporal FL,and spatiotemporal FL,then analyzed from input and model architectures aspects,three input types,and four typical preprocessing subnetworks are *** terms of training,we discuss ideas for enhancing model *** terms of evaluation,based on a previous categorization of scene dependent evaluation and scene independent evaluation,and combined with whether used videos are recorded with static or moving cameras,we further provide four subdivided evaluation setups and analyze that of reviewed *** also show performance comparisons of some reviewed MOS methods and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of reviewed MOS methods in terms of ***,based on the above comparisons and discussions,we present research prospects and future directions.

Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) have been gaining popularity in recent years due to their promise of realizing the decentralized Web 3.0. However, most DAOs rely heavily on token-centric value systems as well as allocate decision-making authority and yield-sharing rights according to the held tokens, which often lead to monopolization of power and rights. To address this issue, this paper contributes to propose a truly democratic organization model, named True Autonomous Organizations and Operations (TAOs), that does not count upon tokens and is guided by principles of contribution-based and on-demand allocation. We first discuss the design of TAOs, including their infrastructures, power structures, and value systems, and then provide a technical roadmap for implementing TAOs in the DeSci context. This research can provide a valuable guidance for the construction and application of TAOs. © 2023 IEEE.

Recent phenomena such as pandemics,geopolitical tensions,and climate change-induced extreme weather events have caused transportation network interruptions,revealing vulnerabilities in the global supply chain.A salient example is the March 2021 Suez Canal blockage,which delayed 432 vessels carrying cargo valued at$92.7 billion,triggering widespread supply chain *** ability to model the spatiotemporal ramifications of such incidents remains *** fill this gap,we develop an agent-based complex network model integrated with frequently updated maritime *** Suez Canal blockage is taken as a case *** results indicate that the effects of such blockages go beyond the directly affected countries and *** Suez Canal blockage led to global losses of about$136.9($127.5–$147.3)billion,with India suffering 75%of these *** losses show a nonlinear relationship with the duration of blockage and exhibit intricate trends post *** proposed model can be applied to diverse blockage scenarios,potentially acting as an earlyalert system for the ensuing supply chain ***,high-resolution daily data post blockage offer valuable insights that can help nations and industries enhance their resilience against similar future events.

DURING our discussion at workshops for writing“What Does ChatGPT Say:The DAO from Algorithmic Intelligence to Linguistic Intelligence”[1],we had expected the next milestone for Artificial Intelligence(AI)would be in the direction of Imaginative Intelligence(II),i.e.,something similar to automatic wordsto-videos generation or intelligent digital movies/theater technology that could be used for conducting new“Artificiofactual Experiments”[2]to replace conventional“Counterfactual Experiments”in scientific research and technical development for both natural and social studies[2]-[6].Now we have OpenAI’s Sora,so soon,but this is not the final,actually far away,and it is just the beginning.

This paper presents management-Oriented Operating systems (M2OS) that leverages the power of parallel intelligence theory, Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and foundation models to revolutionize the manner of management in Cyber-Physical-Social systems (CPSS). The parallel architecture on M2OS is proposed, including the parallel interactive actual M2OS and artificial M2OS. Among them, the artificial M2OSs provide digital infrastructures for organizations to operate, collaborate, and make decisions in the virtual space, and conduct computational experiments to evaluate management decisions and predict future states of the actual M2OS. Through parallel execution and closed-loop feedback between the artificial and actual M2OSs, the management and control, experimentation and evaluation, as well as learning and training of the actual M2OS can be realized. Moreover, the functional layers of M2OS, including the infrastructure layer, data layer, scenario layer, modeling layer, decision layer, and application layer, are discussed. These layers work together to support the intelligent, autonomous, collaborative, and adaptive nature of the M2OS, and facilitate data-driven decision-making, optimize business operations, and empower managers with real-time actionable insights. The proposed M2OS paradigm has great potential to transform the management paradigm and opens up new possibilities for intelligent and collaborative decision-making. © 2023 IEEE.

Personal authentication means that the relevant system confirms whether the identity of the user is real,legal and unique.A safe and convenient personal authentication method is a core for guarantee the security of our information and *** Electromyography(sEMG),which exists on the surface of the skin,is a good signal to achieve personal authentication,for it is difficult to be extracted and *** this paper,a new personal authentication method using forearm sEMG is ***,8-channel sEMG signals are recorded by Myo armband that is placed on right forearm of 14 subjects who perform the same hand open ***,two different deep learning models are presented to classify the *** multi-layers Convolution Neural Network(ML-CNN) and two stages Long Short Term Memory(2 s-LSTM) Network can achieve accuracy of 97.50% and 93.60% respectively,shows it is feasible to achieve the goal of personal *** the time cost of ML-CNN is higher than the 2 s-LSTM,both are lower than human reaction *** the architecture of ML-CNN is more suitable to achieving the goal of personal authentication.

Design and Performance Analysis of a Series-Parallel Self-Aligning Index Finger Exoskeleton

Hand exoskeletons have become increasingly crucial for the rehabilitation of hand function, as relevant studies have shown that using the exoskeletons to assist in rehabilitation training can improve hand motor function. However, developing a human-robot kinematic compatibility exoskeleton while providing sufficient assistance torque is still a challenge. This paper develops a series-parallel self-aligning index finger exoskeleton to assist the index finger in flexion/extension and adduction/abduction training. A series-parallel mechanism driven by two motors simultaneously was proposed for the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint, which can ensure human-robot joint axes self-alignment and increase the joint assistance torque. A kinematic compatibility analysis method was proposed, and the kinematic compatibility of the series-parallel mechanism was analyzed. The degrees of freedom and forward kinematics of the proposed mechanism were analyzed, and its workspace was calculated, which results show that the motion range of the MCP joint can meet the grasping training requirements. Preliminary experiments were carried out, and the results indicate that the motion trajectory coefficients of the marker points at the MCP, PIP, and DIP joints averaged for all subjects with and without the proposed exoskeleton are 0.993, 0.956, and 0.939, respectively, which can verify the kinematic transparency of the proposed mechanism. The assistance torque generated by the proposed mechanism on the MCP joint can meet the joint assistance torque requirements. In a word, the proposed exoskeleton can achieve flexion/extension and adduction/abduction training, human-robot joint axes self-alignment, and provide sufficient assistance torque. © 2016 IEEE.
