0 INTRODUCTION Global warming not only exacerbates the instability of the climate system,causing more weather extremes but also has far-reaching impacts on surface systems,changing disaster environments(Qiu et al.,2024;Ye et al.,2024).The key medium between climate warming and the mountain environment is the cryosphere,whose recession increases the occurrence of chain disasters such as rock-ice avalanches and other flow events(Yang et al.,2023).

Effect of operational and geometric parameters on the hydrodynamics of a Wurster coater:A CFD-DEM study

A coupled CFD-DEM method was used to study the hydrodynamics of a Wurster ***,the CFD part of the model was validated by the accurate prediction of the pressure drops over a pseudo-2D fluidized bed under various gas *** effect of gas velocity,gap height,tube length and batch volume of the particles on the cycle time and the residence time of the particles was thoroughly *** central jet gas velocity ui was found to speed up the particle cycle but undermine the coating *** gas velocity at the horizontal transport zone u2 was able to promote the horizontal transport of the particles but should not be too high,otherwise,it would obstruct the normal falling back of the particles in the downward *** gap heights would decrease the coating efficiency but tube length had little impact on *** increment of batch volume would commonly abase the cycle time and the working efficiency under a given *** de-fluidization problem arose when the batch volume increased to 550 ***,this problem could be swept out by the optimization of u1 and *** a mixture of different sizes,the coarse particles enjoyed higher coating efficiency and could travel closer to the *** may shield the fine particles from getting enough coating liquids,and thus coarse particles and fine particles were not recommended to get coated in the same batch.

A systematic review of the inequality of health burdens related to climate change

Climate change significantly impacts human health,exacerbating existing health inequalities and creating new *** study addresses the lack of systematic review in this area by analyzing 2440 publications,focusing on four key terms:health,disparities,environmental factors,and climate *** inclusion criteria limited the selection to English-language,peer-reviewed articles related to climate health hazards,ensuring the relevance and rigor of the synthesized *** process synthesized 65 relevant *** investigation revealed that recent research,predominantly from developed countries,has broadened its scope beyond temperature-related impacts to encompass diverse climate hazards,including droughts,extreme weather,floods,mental health issues,and the intersecting effects of Coronavirus Disease *** has highlighted exposure as the most studied element in the causal chain of climate change-related health inequalities,followed by adaptive capability and inherent *** most significant vulnerabilities were observed among populations with low socioeconomic status,ethnic minorities,and *** study further reveals research biases and methodological limitations,such as the paucity of attention to underdeveloped regions,a narrow focus on non-temperature-related hazards,challenges in attributing climate change effects,and a deficit of large-scale empirical *** findings call for more innovative research approaches and a holistic integration of physical,socio-political,and economic dimensions to enrich climate-health discourse and inform equitable policy-making.

Optics in high-power solid-state laser devices will be damaged and adhere to contaminates on the surface during manufacturing and operation, which reduces the service life. To facilitate the positioning and recognition of the flaw (damage and contaminates) in the process of automatic repair, the dark-field flaw size calibration algorithm was studied. In this paper, a flaw size calibration model based on convolutional neural network was established. The size, exposure time, and loss function of damage and contaminate were optimized respectively. The training parameter of the damage regression model is determined to be size of less than 500μm, 30ms of exposure time and SmoothL1 loss function, and the parameter of contaminate is 0-100μm, 20ms of exposure and SmoothL1 loss function. After data balancing, the calibration precision was improved. To improve the calibration consistency of the full-size segment, a comprehensive size calibration strategy is proposed. The CNN regression algorithm is used for small size, and the pixel-level calibration algorithm is used for large size. Compared with the single regression calibration algorithm, the relative error and absolute error of the calibration results of small damage ( © 2024 SPIE.

Multi sensor fusion state estimation of autonomous navigation vehicle based on RNN model. Multi sensor fusion is a process of combining information from different sensors to estimate a single value. In this paper, we propose a recursive neural network (RNN) model to estimate the state of multiple sensors. This method uses RNN architecture with two hidden layers and one output layer to combine sensor data. The input data is first divided into a sequence and then input into the RNN model to predict the output. We use three types of sensors: IMU, LIDAR and GPS. First, the RNN model is trained using three sensors for the navigation system. Then, we use this trained model to estimate the current position using only one sensor data. Finally, we combine the data of all three sensors to obtain the final estimated position of the vehicle at any given time step. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Controversies still exist over the necessity of equipping with an emergency water supply system in the supercritical circulating fluidized bed/CFB *** resolve the dispute,research on the safety of the heating surfaces in the supercritical CFB boiler during the electricity failure accident under the assumption of not putting the emergency water supply system into use must be ***,due to the low incidence rate of this accident,no relevant data have been reported *** provide useful data for the related research,a breakdown accident of the main feed water pump that happened in a 350 MW supercritical CFB boiler was introduced in this *** analysis of the physical processes in both the furnace and water side of the boiler during this accident was *** the discussion on the similarities and discrepancies between the two accidents was carried *** was found out that with appropriate handling,the data collected in two periods of the breakdown accident of the main feed water pump can provide a reference for the verification of the prediction model of the electricity failure ***,a preliminary prediction model was established as the first step of the verification work.

Aiming at problems of long-distance and steep-slope FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope) cable detection, a set of vision system and its processing method based YOLOX are proposed. This system overcomes many difficulties such as collecting high-altitude samples and complex background environment in FAST cable detection tasks, and It achieves the accurate positioning and classification of defects. Good detection effects have been achieved for multi-morphology, multi-scale, especially small defects. The defect detection system was validated on three defect data sets which could affect the normal use of the cable, and the accuracy is 91.7%. Thus the system and method can meet the efficiency and accuracy requirements of FAST cable detection, and it can also be practically applied to other various cables. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Solar arrays are the primary energy source for *** traditional rigid solar arrays improve power supply,the quality increases ***,it is difficult to satisfy the requirements of high-power and low-cost space *** this study,a shape-memory polymer composite(SMPC)boom was designed,fabricated,and characterized for flexible reel-type solar *** SMPC boom was fabricated from a smart material,a shape-memory polymer composite,whose mechanical properties were ***,a mathematical model of the bending stiffness of the SMPC boom was developed,and the bending and buckling behaviors of the boom were further analyzed using the ABAQUS *** SMPC boom was fabricated to demonstrate its shape memory characteristics,and the driving force of the booms with varying geometric parameters was *** also designed and manufactured a reel-type solar array based on an SMPC boom and verified its self-deployment *** results indicated that the SMPC boom can be used as a deployable unit to roll out flexible solar arrays.
