A Multi-dimensional Trust-aware Cloud Service Selection Mechanism Based on Evidential Reasoning Approach

In the last few years, cloud computing as a new computing paradigm has gone through significant development, but it is also facing many problems. One of them is the cloud service selection problem. As increasingly boosting cloud services are offered through the internet and some of them may be not reliable or even malicious, how to select trustworthy cloud services for cloud users is a big challenge. In this paper, we propose a multi-dimensional trust-aware cloud service selection mechanism based on evidential reasoning(ER) approach that integrates both perception-based trust value and reputation based trust value, which are derived from direct and indirect trust evidence respectively, to identify trustworthy services. Here, multi-dimensional trust evidence, which reflects the trustworthiness of cloud services from different aspects, is elicited in the form of historical users feedback ratings. Then, the ER approach is applied to aggregate the multi-dimensional trust ratings to obtain the real-time trust value and select the most trustworthy cloud service of certain type for the active users. Finally, the fresh feedback from the active users will update the trust evidence for other service users in the future.

Ray tracing tool has played an important role in communication channel modeling. However, accurate simulation with complex scenario will greatly challenge the computational capabilities of personal computer. In this paper, a novel accelerated algorithm for traditional ray tracing tool was proposed based on high-Performance distribute computers. The comparison between traditional ray tracing tool and extended ray tracing tool shown that the accelerating performance for later is highly significant. Numerical results of the simulations show that, jointly using ray tracing tool and high performance distribute computers have been illustrated to be high efficient way for high accurate simulation of channel.

This study evaluated heavy rainfall estimates from four satellite algorithms with a relatively dense rain gauge network over Mishui basin from 2003 to 2010. The results show that all the remote-sensing products underestimate heavy rainfall as compared to the rain gauge measurements. For satellite products, CMORPH has the best spatial correlation (0.36) but largely underestimates the total rainfall accumulation. Compared to rain gauge measurements, both 3B42RT and 3B42V7 presented a relatively large deviation from the temporal variation of rainfall and underestimated the rainstorm by 28.50% and 26.76%, respectively. This study suggests that the current satellite rainfall products still have limitations in terms of resolution and accuracy for heavy rainfall events.

We deal with Pursuit-evasion games with a high speed evader which has superiority in velocity over a group of heterogeneous pursuers in this *** in the group of pursuers is expressed as heterogeneity in the individual maximum *** introduce Apollonius circles generated by every pursuer and the evader to analyse the criteria for a successful *** robots pursuit problem under unknown environment is investigated from the view of behavior-based control method,and Motor Schema-based reactive control architecture is *** basic behaviors using for pursuers are designed,namely Movetogoal,Avoidobatacle and Hunting,wherein hunting behavior is realized through a kind of reinforcement learning algorithm called *** of the evader is based on synthesized behavior,generated through summarizing the outputs of all behaviors *** of simulation experiments validate the effectiveness of our method.

In this paper,a salient region detection algorithm based on priors which estimate the likely position of background which we make it more accurate,is *** of considering the contrast between each element（pixel or region） and their surrounding regions,we consider background cues in different ways such as PCA and sparse *** the saliency value of each element（superpixel） is obtained by computing the similarity with background *** such a problem which the background template based on prior probably includes the interference of foreground,so we use graph-based manifold ranking method to eliminate the interference of foreground in background *** a detailed experimental evaluation on large benchmark database,the results shows the proposed algorithm perform well when compare with other state-of-the-art methods and can effectively eliminate the interference of foreground in initial background templates.

Inland lakes and alpine glaciers are important water resources on the Tibetan Plateau. Understanding their variation is crucial for accurate evaluation and prediction of changes in water supply and for retrieval and analysis of climatic information. Data from previous research on 35 alpine lakes on the Tibetan Plateau were used to investigate changes in lake water level and area. In terms of temporal changes, the area of the 35 alpine lakes could be divided into five groups: rising, falling-rising, rising-falling, fluctuating, and falling. In terms of spatial changes, the area of alpine lakes in the Himalayan Mountains, the Karakoram Mountains, and the Qaidam Basin tended to decrease; the area of lakes in the Naqu region and the Kunlun Mountains increased; and the area of lakes in the Hoh Xil region and Qilian Mountains fluctuated. Changes in lake water level and area were correlated with regional changes in climate. Reasons for changes in these lakes on the Tibetan Plateau were analyzed, including precipitation and evaporation from meteorological data, glacier meltwater from the Chinese glacier inventories. Several key problems, e.g. challenges of monitoring water balance, limitations to glacial area detection, uncertainties in detecting lake water-level variations and variable region boundaries of lake change types on the Tibetan Plateau were discussed. This research has most indicative significance to regional climate change.

This paper studies the H∞-consensus estimation problem for a moving target using constant gain under local communication and stochastic noises, where the communication topology is assumed to be switched. To solve this problem, we propose a recursive H∞-consensus estimation algorithm using constant gain, which based on the solution of algebraic Riccati equation（ARE）. The stability properties of the proposed algorithm and a lower bound for estimation errors are investigated by using Lyapunov method and a common H∞ filter. The effectiveness of the proposed estimation algorithm are illustrated by simulations.

Bone cutting process is an essential and vital step in orthopedics and joint replacement surgery, a slight mistake in it may damage spinal cord and nerve roots, cause limb dysfunction. Since bone cells have bioactivities, they are very sensitive to temperature, when temperature exceeds 47°C, they begin to thermal necrosis. Heat generation during bone cutting will cause temperature rising in cutting area, finally burn the cutting surface. Therefore, this paper adopts fresh porcine femur as experimental material to analyze the influence of rotation speed, feed speed and cutting depth on cutting temperature rise, provides a theoretical basis for optimizing cutting parameters and controlling cutting temperature.

Lesions of the lateral skull base in the petrous apex present unique surgical challenges because of the proximity of critical structures, including the inner ear, carotid artery, jugular bulb, facial nerve, lower cranial nerves, dura and brain. Currently, there are few appropriate surgical devices that can reach and remove these lesions, each with their own disadvantages. Here we investigate the feasibility of a dexterous continuum manipulator (DCM) capable of C-& S-shaped bends enabling dissection with remote center of motion (RCM) deep to the intact inner ear. A dedicated borescope channel provides the necessary visualization, while a flexible ring curette pre-shaped with a nitinol strip is designed to work through the instrument lumen for curettage of a cystic lesion. The kinematics of the DCM with the ring curette subject to an RCM constraint are investigated to explore the boundaries of a typical cyst cavity. Experiments in the planar phantom are carried out to validate feasibility, and results show that the proposed solution is practicable, accomplishing 80% and 83% removal of cysts for two kinds of boundaries.
