The data science of networks is a rapidly developing field with myriad applications. In neuroscience, the brain is commonly modeled as a connectome, a network of nodes connected by edges. While there have been thousands of papers on connectomics, the statistics of networks remains limited and poorly understood. Here, we provide an overview from the perspective of statistical network science of the kinds of models, assumptions, problems, and applications that are theoretically and empirically justified for analysis of connectome data. We hope this review spurs further development and application of statistically grounded methods in connectomics.

In the healthcare landscape, data science (DS) methods have emerged as indispensable tools to harness real-world data (RWD) from various data sources such as electronic health records, claim and registry data, and data gathered from digital health technologies. Real-world evidence (RWE) generated from RWD empowers researchers, clinicians, and policymakers with a more comprehensive understanding of real-world patient outcomes. Nevertheless, persistent challenges in RWD (e.g., messiness, voluminousness, heterogeneity, multimodality) and a growing awareness of the need for trustworthy and reliable RWE demand innovative, robust, and valid DS methods for analyzing RWD. In this article, I review some common current DS methods for extracting RWE and valuable insights from complex and diverse RWD. This article encompasses the entire RWE-generation pipeline, from study design with RWD to data preprocessing, exploratory analysis, methods for analyzing RWD, and trustworthiness and reliability guarantees, along with data ethics considerations and open-source tools. This review, tailored for an audience that may not be experts in DS, aspires to offer a systematic review of DS methods and assists readers in selecting suitable DS methods and enhancing the process of RWE generation for addressing their specific challenges.

In rural, depopulated areas, agritourism, as a development model, could serve the goal of non- exclusively seasonal tourism while creating additional economic opportunities for the locals who are mainly engaged in agriculture. Kasos is an isolated island of the Dodecanese, Greece, preserving interesting elements of the authentic agricultural practices and architecture like terraces serving the island’s agricultural cultivation, mills and mitata, small stone- built *** served as a case study of AEI program (Sustainable Development of Less Developed Regions and Isolated Areas by Creating New Touristic Resources and Products through Analysis, Documentation and Modelling of Cultural Assets using Innovative ICT Applications, project code:T2EDK- 01278). For thιs island that lies within the wider region of Rhodes, it is possible with the appropriate development of new touristic resources and products through the advancement of the unique architectural, cultural and environmental assets to orient towards them special parts of the touristic flow from Rhodes, creating new touristic activity by increasing the residence beyond the daily or short time tourism, as it stands for *** the analysis of the study area, research in local archives and communication with the municipality and local stakeholders was conducted. Thus, both the special features of the island and the needs of the local community were identified, organized, classified and presented in GIS maps. The implementation of a GIS for Kasos Island aims to provide a comprehensive representation of the different aspects of the island, providing useful information for policy-making and the development of strategic cultural and agrotourism plans to the local authorities and *** to the integrated plan for Kasos by AEI program, the island could preserve its special rural identity while revealing its cultural and environmental assets and attracting external economies within an agritourism mod

This IMA Volume in mathematics and its Applications MULTIDIMENSIONAL HYPERBOLIC PROBLEMS AND COMPUTATIONS is based on the proceedings of a workshop which was an integral part ofthe 1988-89 IMA program on NONLINEAR WAVES. We are grateful to the Scientific Commit tee: James Glimm, Daniel Joseph, Barbara Keyfitz, Andrew Majda, Alan Newell, Peter Olver, David Sattinger and David Schaeffer for planning and implementing an exciting and stimulating year-long program. We especially thank the Work shop Organizers, Andrew Majda and James Glimm, for bringing together many of the major figures in a variety of research fields connected with multidimensional hyperbolic problems. A vner Friedman Willard Miller PREFACE A primary goal of the IMA workshop on Multidimensional Hyperbolic Problems and Computations from April 3-14, 1989 was to emphasize the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary research in this field involving the combination of ideas from the theory of nonlinear partial differential equations, asymptotic methods, numerical computation, and experiments. The twenty-six papers in this volume span a wide cross-section of this research including some papers on the kinetic theory of gases and vortex sheets for incompressible flow in addition to many papers on systems of hyperbolic conservation laws. This volume includes several papers on asymptotic methods such as nonlinear geometric optics, a number of articles applying numerical algorithms such as higher order Godunov methods and front tracking to physical problems along with comparison to experimental data, and also several interesting papers on the rigorous mathematical theory of shock waves.
