Natural products have been extensively described as important in the process of drug. discovery and development. Drugs based on natural products are used in the treatment of infectious diseases, cancer, lipid disorders and immunomodulation. These drugs illustrate the importance of natural products as sources of innovative therapeutic agents. Recent studies point towards therapeutic potential of large number of natural products that originate from microbes and plants. These type of natural products plays a crucial role to shape the future of drug discovery process. Numerous studies indicate the use of Tithonia diversifolia (TD) as folk medicine to cure diseases like malaria, jaundice, hepatitis and dermatological problems. The present study is focused on identifying and comparing the bioactivity of different extracts from TD. Bioactive extracts of the leaves, stem, flowers were subjected to quantitative and qualitative phytochemical analysis. Qualitative analysis of TD extracts showed the presence of terpenoids, flavanoids, alkaloids, phenolics as the major class of compounds. High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) fingerprinting analysis was carried to establish a quantitative profiling of the extracts. GC-MS of the extracts indicated the presence of Hexadecanoic acid, 2,3- dihydrobenzofuran, Squalene, dotriacontane, 1- hexacosanol, D- tagatose as the major phytocompounds present in the TD Hexane and ethyl acetate extract. The tested Tithonia diversifolia extracts showed significant anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial activities indicating therapeutic potential for TD. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

This work presents the concept of a new advanced robotic rover that is to be employed for the environmental assessment in the space environment. It has a complex of sensors to measure and categorise several parameters of the environment, including the oxygen, carbon dioxide, methane, temperature, humidity, pH of the soil and water. The primary purpose is the creation of a sufficient and autonomous tool for the assessment of the possibilities of existence and danger on other planets. The smart system of the rover processes information on the surrounding area and initiates necessary response to the threat seen and informs the mission control. Good communication systems increase the chances of getting information and data to the Earth in real-time thus increase the chances of observing the environment and atmospheric changes. In order to function in the aggressive and unstable environment of space, the rover is equipped with improved features in automation, environment awareness and safe operation, which will benefit the future space missions to make better decisions. © 2024 IEEE.

Breast cancer(BC)is the most widely recognized cancer in women *** 2018,627,000 women had died of breast cancer(World Health Organization Report 2018).To diagnose BC,the evaluation of tumours is achieved by analysis of histological *** present,the Nottingham Bloom Richardson framework is the least expensive approach used to grade BC *** contemplate three elements,*** count,*** formation,and *** atypia,which is a laborious process that witness’s variations in expert’s ***,some algorithms have been proposed for the detection of mitotic cells,but nuclear atypia in breast cancer histopathology has not received much *** atypia analysis is performed not only to grade BC but also to provide critical information in the discrimination of normal breast,non-invasive breast(usual ductal hyperplasia,atypical ductal hyperplasia)and pre-invasive breast(ductal carcinoma in situ)and invasive breast *** proposed a deep-stacked multi-layer autoencoder ensemble with a softmax layer for the feature extraction and classification *** classification results show the value of the multilayer autoencoder model in the evaluation of nuclear *** proposed method has indicated promising results,making them more fit in breast cancer grading.

We share an emergent repository of nature-entangled methods-to-be shared, experimented with, and discussed during a conference workshop. We present them in-use, as they are in formation. We do not seek to theorise or even fully articulate these methods-to-be. Rather, to make them approachable and actionable for others by showing them not fully polished. By doing this, we advocate for increased transparency in the difficulties of creating new methods, techniques, tools, and approaches. Our contribution is threefold: we provide 1) an annotated portfolio of methods-to-be;2) illustrative examples of how cross-pollination of these methods can enrich their situated use;and 3) a discussion of ways to further articulate the methods and deepen reflection on their roles in nature-entangled design processes. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s).

Breast cancer is a common cancer among women worldwide, and early diagnosis is crucial for improving the chances of successful treatment. Decision support systems (DSS) are computer-based systems that help and guide users in making decisions. This paper discusses the characteristics of an optimal DSS for diagnosing breast cancer, including accuracy and reliability. This paper also introduces an optimal DSS for diagnosing breast cancer that should be able to provide an accurate, reliable, and comprehensive guide to users while being up-to-date, and flexible. The results obtained from the R-squared in the model succeeded in explaining 70% of the variation in the outputs. In contrast, the initial value of R-squared was 0.705091558 and then improved to 0.700018844. Such a system has the potential to improve the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer significantly and could ultimately save lives. © 2024 IEEE.

With the recent digitization, electronic equipment housings are required to be thin-walled and have rigidity, heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and electromagnetic shielding properties. Magnesium alloys are promising materials that satisfy these requirements. Mg-Al alloys have good castability and high strength, but their thermal conductivity decreases. In general, adding alloying elements to magnesium decreases thermal conductivity the effect of aluminum addition is significant. It was found that adding calcium to Mg-Al alloys to form Mg-Al-Ca (AX) alloys results in higher thermal conductivity than that of Mg-Al alloys. However, AX alloys have poor corrosion resistance and require post-treatment such as surface treatment. In this study, AX64, which has high thermal conductivity among the AX series alloys, was used as the basic composition, and corrosion resistance was improved by adding manganese and misch metal, and an attempt was made to improve corrosion resistance and emissivity through surface treatment. The change in thermal conductivity by heat treatment was also investigated. Experimental results showed that the addition of manganese and misch metal improved corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity. Plasma anodization also improved corrosion resistance and emissivity. Heat treatment of these alloys at 400°C improved the thermal conductivity with longer holding time. © 2023 The Japan Institute of Light Metals.

In recent years, consumer preferences have begun to turn back to natural dyes, whereas synthetic dyes have been pushed into the background over the previous 60 years. This is a result of increased knowledge of the potential hazards associated with the creation of synthetic dyes, which use raw materials derived from petrochemicals and involve intense chemical interactions. Such dyes need a lot of energy to produce, and their negative effects on the environment increase pollution. It has been discovered that several of these dyes, particularly the azo-based ones are carcinogenic. On the contrary, natural dyes are getting more attention from scientists and researchers as a result of their several advantages like being eco-friendly, biodegradable and renewable, sustainable, available in nature, having no disposal problems, minimizing the consumption of fossil fuel, anti-bacterial, insect repellent, and anti-allergic, anti-ultraviolet, intensify dyeing and finishing process efficiency, less expensive, and no adverse effects on human health and environment. However, there are also some drawbacks, like poor fastness properties, natural dye printing for bulk production, difficulties in reproducibility of shades, and so forth. Despite all these limitations, the demand for natural dyes is increasing significantly in textile industries because they offer far more safety than synthetic dyes. This study provides an overall concept of the natural dyes in textile printing. It illustrates parameters of printing performance, methods, and techniques of extraction of natural dyes, printing methods, and printing of natural and synthetic fibers. Toward in Situ Monitoring of Blood Lactate Using a Novel Microwave Sensor: An Update [Application Notes]

Non-invasive monitoring of parameters such as lactate remains an open research challenge, and therefore this paper presents a recent update on progress to develop such a device using a novel microwave sensor. Whereas the authors’ previous work has focused on lactate monitoring during static cycling, the sensor demonstrated here is used during walking and running on a treadmill, where intensity level is progressively increased. Results from the microwave sensor are compared with those from a Lactate Pro V2 reference device, one of the most popular commercially available and minimally invasive devices. The microwave sensor is capable of providing real-time information at significantly higher resolution than the reference device. Discussion of future work to further develop the technique is also presented.

In recent years,progressive developments have been observed in recent technologies and the production cost has been continuously *** such scenario,Internet of Things(IoT)network which is comprised of a set of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV),has received more attention from civilian tomilitary *** network security poses a serious challenge to UAV networks whereas the intrusion detection system(IDS)is found to be an effective process to secure the UAV *** IDSs are not adequate to handle the latest computer networks that possess maximumbandwidth and data *** order to improve the detection performance and reduce the false alarms generated by IDS,several researchers have employed Machine Learning(ML)and Deep Learning(DL)algorithms to address the intrusion detection *** this view,the current research article presents a deep reinforcement learning technique,optimized by BlackWidow Optimization(DRL-BWO)algorithm,for UAV *** addition,DRL involves an improved reinforcement learning-based Deep Belief Network(DBN)for intrusion *** parameter optimization of DRL technique,BWO algorithm is *** helps in improving the intrusion detection performance of UAV *** extensive set of experimental analysis was performed to highlight the supremacy of the proposed *** the simulation values,it is evident that the proposed method is appropriate as it attained high precision,recall,F-measure,and accuracy values such as 0.985,0.993,0.988,and 0.989 respectively.

Bremsstrahlung—the spontaneous emission of broadband radiation from free electrons that are deflected by atomic nuclei—contributes to the majority of X-rays emitted from X-ray tubes and used in applications ranging from medical imaging to semiconductor chip ***,we show that the bremsstrahlung intensity can be enhanced significantly—by more than three orders of magnitude—through shaping the electron wavefunction to periodically overlap with atoms in crystalline ***,we show how to shape the bremsstrahlung X-ray emission pattern into arbitrary angular emission profiles for purposes such as unidirectionality and ***,we find that these enhancements and shaped emission profiles cannot be attributed solely to the spatial overlap between the electron probability distribution and the atomic centers,as predicted by the paraxial and nonrecoil theory for free electron light *** work highlights an unprecedented regime of free electron light emission where electron waveshaping provides multi-dimensional control over practical radiation processes like *** results pave the way towards greater versatility in table-top X-ray sources and improved fundamental understanding of quantum electron-light interactions.
