The earth observation satellite scheduling has always been critical for the maximum use of limited satellite resources, which basically includes scheduling ground target observation and observation data downloading. Due to the complexity of the mathematical model and its NP-hardness, current research usually splits it into two problems to simplify the model. In this paper, we propose a model of the integrated scheduling problem of satellite observation and data downloading (ISP-SODD) based on the decentralized partially observable Markov decision process (Dec-POMDP), treating each satellite as an agent with autonomous decision-making capability. A multi-agent deep reinforcement learning-based (MADRL-based) algorithm is proposed to solve it. A series of simulation experiments of different scales validate the effectiveness of the method and its advantages compared with the traditional heuristic algorithms. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first attempt to apply multi-agent reinforcement learning to a multi-satellite scheduling scenario with downloading considerations. © 2023 IEEE.

We investigate the problem of optimal control synthesis for Markov Decision Processes (MDPs), addressing both qualitative and quantitative objectives. Specifically, we require the system to fulfill a qualitative surveillance task in the sense that a specific region of interest can be visited infinitely often with probability one. Furthermore, to quantify the performance of the system, we consider the concept of efficiency, which is defined as the ratio between rewards and costs. This measure is more general than the standard long-run average reward metric as it aims to maximize the reward obtained per unit cost. Our objective is to synthesize a control policy that ensures the surveillance task while maximizes the efficiency. We provide an effective approach to synthesize a stationary control policy achieving -optimality by integrating state classifications of MDPs and perturbation analysis in a novel manner. Our results generalize existing works on efficiency-optimal control synthesis for MDP by incorporating qualitative surveillance tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate the distributed optimization problem for heterogeneous linear multi-agent systems with unknown disturbances. By applying the primal-dual method and the time-scale separation technique, a distributed dynamic controller without using any disturbance information is proposed. Based on the optimal condition, the relationship between the optimal solution and the equilibrium point of the system is established, and it is shown that the distributed optimization problem is solved provided that the closed-loop system is stable. Then, inspired by the nonsingular perturbation analysis, it is proved that the closed-loop system is exponentially input-to-state stable with respect to the derivative of the disturbance. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the theoretical results. © 2024 IEEE.

A fixed-time sliding mode controller is developed for the three-degree-of-freedom air-floating robot (AFR) in the presence of model uncertainties and external disturbances. By dynamics transformation, the complex nonlinear AFR dynamics are transformed into a second-order feedback decoupling model. A neural network enhanced by actor-critic learning structure is designed to handle model uncertainties, and the nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode controller can ensure all signals in the closed-loop system converge to a residual set around the origin within a fixed time. The system stability is proved by Lyapunov theory and the simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. © 2023 IEEE.

Advanced Grid-Forming Undersea Pumped Storage to Enable 100% Renewable Offshore Oilfield Power systems

To advance carbon reduction of the offshore oilfield power system (OOPS), the grid-forming undersea pumped storage system (GFM-UPSS) emerges as a promising solution. This paper introduces a novel framework for a 100% renewable OOPS utilizing the GFM-UPSS. Firstly, the control strategy of the GFM-UPSS is presented. It consists of the grid-side converter (GSC), machine-side converter (MSC), and reversible pump-turbine (RPT) to achieve frequency and voltage regulation. A steady-state model is then developed detailing the water head, power, and volume of the spherical shell. In addition, the paper explores the converter parameter impacts on the GFM-UPSS transient model and derives the closed-form solutions. With the steady-state model, an optimal sizing method is presented and economic advantages in the marine environment are studied for the GFM-UPSS. Finally, EMT simulations are conducted to assess the frequency & voltage stabilities and verify the effectiveness of the GFM-UPSS in enabling a 100% renewable OOPS. The optimal sizing results show that construction costs, mainly for OWP, are dominated and are influenced by sphere radius, placement depth, and start-stop cycles, while a 2.5 capacity ratio between OWP and GFM-UPSS consistently emerges as optimal. Moreover, analysis of transient stability shows that it improves with higher frequency & voltage modulation coefficient and lower virtual impedance. The impact of RPT and MSC, mainly on frequency regulation, is determined by the DC droop coefficient and turbine inertia. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Liver rupture repair surgery serves as one tool to treat liver rupture, especially beneficial for cases of mild liver rupture hemorrhage. Liver rupture can catalyze critical conditions such as hemorrhage and shock. Surgical workflow recognition in liver rupture repair surgery videos presents a significant task aimed at reducing surgical mistakes and enhancing the quality of surgeries conducted by surgeons. A liver rupture repair simulation surgical dataset is proposed in this paper which consists of 45 videos collaboratively completed by nine surgeons. Furthermore, an end-to-end SA-RLNet, a self attention-based recurrent convolutional neural network, is introduced in this paper. The self-attention mechanism is used to automatically identify the importance of input features in various instances and associate the relationships between input features. The accuracy of the surgical phase classification of the SA-RLNet approach is 90.6%. The present study demonstrates that the SA-RLNet approach shows strong generalization capabilities on the dataset. SA-RLNet has proved to be advantageous in capturing subtle variations between surgical phases. The application of surgical workflow recognition has promising feasibility in liver rupture repair surgery. ©2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press. Radio electronic devices operating in differential mode, such as those used in automatic control systems, can be adversely affected by electromagnetic interference. This is particularly relevant for interfaces like USB and LVDS, which are commonly employed in such systems. Ensuring the reliable operation of these systems requires measures to protect against unwanted interference. This work aims to develop a method for tracing two differential pairs that increases their immunity to electromagnetic interference, thereby enhancing system reliability. This paper presents the results of electrodynamic simulations of single and coupled differential pairs using COMSOL Multiphysics software. Time-domain analysis, frequency response analysis, and signal integrity analysis were performed to assess the impact on reliability. Results indicate that adding a second differential pair significantly improves electromagnetic interference suppression, leading to more robust and reliable system operation. Ultra-wideband interference attenuation increased by more than two times, and narrowband interference attenuation by more than five times. The optimal distance between the pairs ensures the best signal integrity, further contributing to reliable data transmission.

With the increasing number of satellites being launched in China,the demand for Telemetry,Tracking,and Command(TT&C)resources is also *** of the global coverage and resource requirements of TT&C management,this paper proposes a TT&C scheme based on the Global Short-Message Communication system(GSMCS)of the BeiDou-3 Navigation Satellite system(BDS-3).The system composition,workflow,and functions of satellite TT&C are analyzed using the GSMCS of *** the coverage analysis of the Medium Earth Orbit(MEO)constellation of BDS-3,scheme’s applicability is pointed out,and the correctness of the analysis results is verified via *** value range of the link distance is derived by calculating the range of the distance variation between any 2 satellites in the BDS-3 MEO constellation and combining the intersatellite routing *** calculation results show that the response time range of the autonomous request management application of in-orbit satellites based on the GSMCS of BDS-3 is 1.407 to 2.448 *** can meet the requirements of TT&C service.
