Laser communication provides a promising solution for solving the communication blackout problem in reentry and hypersonic flight. Application of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) of laser has advantages in communication capacity and security. This paper has investigated the propagation of Laguerre - Gaussian beam in plasma sheaths for different turbulence intensity, in order to evaluate the feasibility of OAM communication. Through numerical simulation, basic characteristics of Laguerre - Gaussian beam are gotten, such as the distribution of laser intensity and phase, the scintillation coefficient, the spiral spectrum and detection probability. The effects of turbulence intensity and topological charge number on laser intensity scintillation coefficient and OAM detection probability are analyzed. The results show that when the variance of refractive index fluctuation is below 10-14, the above characteritics of laser propagation are less influenced by sheath turbulence, which shows the potential feasibility of OAM communication in alleviating the blackout problem. For more intense turbulence, intersymbol interference is predicted to be obvious, and compensation measures are necessary. When the refractive index variance is greater than 10-11, the weight of original OAM state is smaller than 0.01, and the OAM communication through plasma sheaths is difficult. © 2025 SPIE.

The standard language is assessed, and the feelings transmitted by the individual are brought up. The purpose of sentiment analysis is to determine the polarity of a person's textual opinion. Most of the people use social media to market ourselves and share all knowledge, thoughts, ideas, and experiences with the rest of the world. Sentiment analysis has been studied by several internet companies that offer materials based on human emotions expressed through social media. Many people use social media to post and share their thoughts and feelings. The sentiment analysis standard assorts a sentence with all forms of emotions, each of which has an intensity. This study includes a sentiment analysis of diverse perspectives on social topics that are trending on social media, along with a recommendation system. This method recommends related content to viewers based on their current statement or issue. The algorithm also suggests customized video sets to users based on their social media activity, such as diverse perspectives on a particular social problem about which they actively express their thoughts on social media. NLP algorithms are utilized for sentiment analysis and recommendation systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The increasing integration of Cyber-Physical systems (CPS) in critical infrastructure presents unique challenges for ensuring robust cybersecurity. Traditional Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) often struggle with the dynamic, complex nature of CPS environments, making adaptive solutions essential. This paper presents an Adaptive Intrusion Detection system (AIDS) that leverages Reinforcement Learning-Based Autoencoders (RL-AE) to detect and respond to cyber intrusions in CPS environments. The proposed model combines the power of autoencoders for unsupervised anomaly detection with reinforcement learning to continuously adapt and improve detection accuracy. Experimental results on benchmark CPS datasets demonstrate that the RL-AE-based IDS achieves a detection accuracy of 98.3%, a precision rate of 96.8%, and a recall rate of 97.5%, effectively minimizing false positives to 2.4%. The system also demonstrated rapid adaptability, with a convergence time of less than 50 iterations in response to new attack patterns. These results highlight the model's ability to enhance system resilience and promote secure and efficient CPS operations in industrial and critical infrastructure applications. This approach provides a scalable and flexible IDS solution, promoting secure and resilient CPS operations in real-time, high-stakes environments. © 2024 IEEE.

An Intelligent Path Planning of Welding Robot Based on Multisensor Interaction

Industrial robots are evolving rapidly in the manufacturing industry. There are two main techniques for programming the robots such as online and offline programming. However, the time spent on programming a new trajectory is a major challenge in deploying welding robots, which makes these approaches less efficient. This article presents a two-stage method employing multisensor interaction for the path planning of a welding robot. The proposed scheme enhances weld seam trajectory development and creates a highly adjustable intelligent guidance programming system for welding robots. A global stage approach utilizing the RGB-D camera, which combines fast 2-D object recognition and 3-D reconstruction models, is proposed to quickly identify the coarse trajectory. The processes of fast 2-D object recognition and 3-D reconstruction are carried out using a deep neural network model and stereo vision sensor module. This technique can be a better replacement for offline programming or hand gesture controls also known as the teaching trajectory, particularly for the welding robot application. The local positioning stage is then applied using the laser vision module to obtain more precise information of the local environment, guided by the coarse trajectory that was realized in the prior stage (global stage). The efficacy of the proposed system is analyzed by conducting numerous tests using an experimental setup. The experimental finding demonstrates that the suggested study has great potential to automate the welding robot in the manufacturing sector. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Laser communication has potential to solve the communication blackout problem during hypersonic flight of reentry capsule or hypersonic vehicles. The influence of ablation particles from thermal protection materials of the vehicles is an important factor for the laser communication design. This paper firstly estimates the basic parameters of ablation particles from previous experimental reports. On this basis, attenuation by Mie and Debye scattering is calculated. It is indicated that the attenuation caused by Debye scattering is far less than 1. And the attenuation by Mie scattering is obvious when the particle number density exceeds 104 /cm3. From the results in this paper, 5 dB redundancy corresponding to the influence of ablation particles is suggested for the laser communication system design. © 2025 SPIE.

Illegible handwriting on medical prescriptions poses a significant challenge, often leading to the misinterpretation of drug names and dosages. This issue primarily stems from doctors' use of Latin abbreviations, driven by time constraints during patient consultations. The resultant discrepancies in prescription interpretation can potentially expose patients to incorrect medications and dosages, leading to adverse effects. In response to this concern, this study proposes a novel system integrating Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) models. Promising findings are reported in this study, achieving a loss of 0.4874 and an accuracy of 0.83 in the latest trial. The final model offers a potential solution to the persistent problem of illegible prescriptions, enhancing patient safety in the healthcare domain. © 2024 IEEE.

UAV swarms have gained prominence due to their reliability, agility, and cooperative capabilities. This paper addresses the challenges of devising algorithms for fixed-wing UAVs posed by non-holonomic kinematics and actuator constraints. While existing works explored optimal control, artificial potential fields, and biologically inspired methods, these often overlook 3-dimensional non-holonomic constraints and actuator saturation. This work contributes to a decentralized 3D fixed-wing flocking algorithm that ensures inter-agent collision avoidance and effective flock formation. Moreover, using a leader-follower model, the agents track a virtual leader while communicating only with neighbors, keeping the motion constraints of fixed-wings. We establish safe initial conditions to guarantee collision avoidance. Numerical simulations validate the proposed algorithm’s robustness, demonstrating its effectiveness in solving the flocking problem for non-holonomic fixed-wing agents and advancing UAV swarm coordination. © 2024 IEEE.
