In order to extend the connection time of the feeder link for dense LEO constellation and make full use of the resources of the gateway station, this article proposes a feeder link handover strategy for dense LEO constellation based on Hybrid Clonal Selection Algorithm. Firstly, the satellite-earth visible window is defined as an independent task, the link handover problem is transformed into a task assignment problem, and the corresponding mathematical model is established. Then, the task execution time window is calculated using the Conflict Resolution Algorithm, and the associated satellite coincidence time window is reassigned. Then, the Clonal Selection Algorithm is used for global search to complete the whole link handover. In order to enhance the local optimization ability of the algorithm, a Hybrid Clonal Selection Algorithm is proposed by combining the local search algorithm of adaptive neighborhood selection. Finally, the model is set up and the performance comparative analysis experiment is carried out. The experimental results show that the Hybrid Clonal Selection Algorithm can improve the task scheduling rate and extend the link connection time without sacrificing the link switching times. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2025.

Experimental investigation and modeling of fiber metal laminates hydroforming process by GWO optimized neuro-fuzzy network

In this paper, by considering the processing parameters, including blank holder force, blank holder gap, and cavity pressure as the most important input factors in the hydroforming process, an experimental design is performed, and an adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is applied to model and predict the behavior of aluminum thinning rate (upper layer and lower layer), the height of wrinkles and achieved depths that are extracted in hydroforming process. Also, the optimal constraints of the network structure are obtained by the gray wolf optimization algorithm. Accordingly, the results of experimental tests are utilized for training and testing of the ANFIS. The accurateness of the attained network is examined using graphs and also based on the statistical criteria of root mean square error, mean absolute error, and correlation coefficient. The results show that the attained model is very effective in approximating the aluminum thinning rate (upper layer and lower layer), the height of wrinkles, and achieved depth in the hydroforming process. Finally, the results also show that the root means of the square error of aluminum thinning rate (upper layer and lower layer), the height of wrinkles, and achieved depth of the test section are 1.67, 2.25, 0.05, and 2.67, respectively. It is also observed that the correlation coefficient for the test data is very close to 1, which demonstrates the high precision of the ANFIS in predicting the outputs of the hydroforming procedure. © 2021 The author(s).

In order to optimise the effect of database information retrieval and overcome the problem of high index cost of traditional retrieval methods, an efficient retrieval design method of relational database based on knowledge graph is designed in this paper. Firstly, the distribution model of database information retrieval nodes is constructed to analyse the data structure, and the semantic characteristics of stored data of retrieval nodes are fused. Then the knowledge graph model analysis method is used to retrieve the database node attribute clustering and adaptive scheduling to realise the design of efficient information retrieval model for the database. The experimental results show that the index distance cost of this method is always below 5 × 1,010 byte, and the index distance cost is always below 40 s, which has certain application value. © 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Underwater communication is widely regarded as one of the most significant challenges due to the unique physical properties of water. Among the available communication methods, radiofrequency communication offers higher data transmission rates than acoustic communication. However, higher frequencies suffer from substantial attenuation in water, making it difficult to achieve long-distance transmission. Addressing the tradeoff between transmission rate and communication distance is essential for achieving optimal performance. Unlike conventional systems that rely on fixed operating frequencies, this study introduces a dynamic frequency selection algorithm. This algorithm dynamically adjusts the operating frequency in real-time based on channel conditions and transmission rate feedback, ensuring a more adaptive and efficient communication system. To validate this approach, a dipole antenna with multiple impedance matching was designed and tested in a water tank environment. The experimental results revealed that bandwidth performance varied across different frequencies. Transmission rate analysis showed that higher frequencies provided higher data transmission over short distances. Conversely, lower frequencies exhibited better signal stability and reliability for long-distance communication due to their reduced attenuation. These findings highlight the importance of adaptive frequency selection in underwater radiofrequency communication, where a balance between transmission rate and communication distance must be achieved to support various operational requirements. © 2025 IEEE.

Water-powered aerial vehicles have been widely applied in various fields such as entertainment, rescue and transportation. However, they require an operator to have an expert technique to govern. In order to enhance the skillful applications of these vehicles in specialized missions such as firefighting, rescue, and exploration, this study proposed a novel unmanned water-powered aerial vehicle actuating nozzle rotation mechanism and propellers module. In particular, by changing the water force direction through the nozzle rotation modules and air force of propeller modules, the proposed vehicle can achieve comprehensive 6-degree-of-freedom motion under the constant mass flow rate condition. As a first step to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed system, the following steps are being taken. Firstly, a mathematical model of the vehicle is derived in detail to describe system dynamics. Secondly, a well-known proportional-integral- derivative controller is then applied to regulate its full motion. Finally, the simulation studies are conducted to validate the feasibility of the proposed vehicle. © 2024 ICROS.

Unveiling the influential factors for customized bus service reopening from naturalistic observations in Shanghai

This work attempts to understand how a customized bus(CB)operator decides to open or close a CB *** look into the changes in the operation status of CB lines(*** and closure)from one of the largest CB operators in Shanghai,China,with a 22-month con secutive observation ranging from January 2019 to October *** all CB services were totally suspended at the beginning of 2020 due to the COVID-19 travel restriction and then gradually recovered in March 2020,we utilize this study period as a naturalistic observa tion experiment to investigate the changes in the operation status of each CB line before and after the travel *** the operation status at each month as the binary alternatives,the mixed logit models and the tree-based models with explainable machine learning techniques are respectively adopted to explore the factors that influence the decision-making *** findings from both types of models are in general *** results show that the characteristics of each CB line including the ridership,the length of the line,the closeness to charging stations,and the overlap of CB lines significantly impact the *** addition,the land-use types around the CB stops and the market competition from alternative travel modes also play a key role in making the decisions.

Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs)provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management,resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation ***,the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy *** address these challenges,several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptography have been proposed ***,most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs,which make them inefficient for on-board units(OBUs).Additionally,some of them are still susceptible to many *** such,this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)and bilinear pairing(BP)*** formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows–Abadi–Needham(BAN)logic,demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably *** proposed scheme’s informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features,such as non-repudiation,anonymity,and ***,the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks,such as packet replays,forgeries,message falsifications,and *** the performance perspective,this protocol yields a 37.88%reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44%improvement in the supported security ***,the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads.

Rechargeable Zn-air batteries (RZABs) offer high energy and power densities along with superior safety and economic viability, making them ideal candidates for next-generation energy storage systems. However, their performance is heavily dependent on the development of efficient and durable bifunctional electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) during discharging and the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) during charging, which have been major challenges for RZABs. Prussian blue analogues (PBA) have recently emerged as promising precursors for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts. Despite this, the precise engineering of active sites that selectively catalyze the ORR and the OER remains a challenge. In this study, we reported the successful transformation of NiFe PBA into a core-shell nanostructure, denoted as NGCA (nanographitic carbon shell/NiFe alloy core), via a facile annealing process at temperatures ranging from 500 to 900 °C. By fine-tuning the annealing temperatures, we optimized the formation of a transition metal-nitrogen-doped carbon (TM-N-C) shell, which acts as the primary ORR active site, while the NiFe alloy core selectively catalyzes the OER. This unique core-shell configuration delivered an exceptional bifunctional catalytic performance with a low OER/ORR potential gap of 0.87 V. The electrocatalyst’s efficacy was demonstrated in a liquid-state RZAB, exhibiting stable charge-discharge cycling for over 60 h without signs of overcharging. Electrochemical cycling tests and postmortem analyses revealed that the Ni-rich NiFe alloy core predominantly drives the OER. At the same time, ORR activity is retained by a synergistic interaction between Fe₅C₂, which coexists with pyridinic-N and metal-N as the active sites. This study highlights the potential of PBA-derived materials as self-standing precursors for the scalable and cost-effective production of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts. © 2025 The Authors. Crawler cranes are used in various applications, including plant construction and civil engineering. However, accidents caused by hazardous events, such as overturning the entire body or overshadowing of a suspended load, can be problematic. Because crawler cranes are large and powerful machines, simulators are required to analyze the relationship between such hazardous events and human operations. This study proposed a framework for a mixed-reality simulator to analyze the interactions between humans and crawler cranes. This framework combined the high-performance graphics capabilities of Unreal Engine 5 with the high-precision multibody dynamics analysis of MATLAB Simscape to create a visually and physically realistic simulation. Moreover, the quantification of the decision-making process was possible based on the eye-tracking information of the operator. This study described the implementation of these features and discussed the prospects for human-crawler crane interaction analysis using this simulator. © 2024 IEEE.
