Image captioning is a vision-language task that targets at describing an image by generating a coherent sentence automatically. This technology allows computers to understand and describe images like humans, enabling further processing of images. It combines computer vision and natural language processing, which has broad applications. This paper investigates the use of vision-language pre-trained models for image captioning. In this article, an encoder-decoder hybrid model based on PVT and BERT is pre-trained on a large number of image-text pairs, possessing both understanding and generation capabilities. It consists of three components: 1) an image encoder and a text encoder to extract image and text features respectively;2) a multi-modal encoder to align the two modalities;and 3) a text decoder to generate text descriptions. This paper focuses on enhancing the image encoder of the model, which is crucial for image captioning models as it extracts high-resolution image features. Reducing training time and computational costs can also improve the applicability of pre-trained models. Improvements are made to the original model by modifying the ViT model architecture of the image encoding module. A feature pyramid structure and a spatial reduction attention mechanism is introduced to extract high-resolution image features while reducing computational complexity and memory usage, thereby enhancing the universality of the model. The model adopts a pure Transformer architecture, discarding the convolutional structure, and achieves excellent performance. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents the effects of different grouser angle of attacks on the traction performance of an assistive grouser wheel traversing on soft sandy terrain. This work is an extension from our previous work on assistive grousers attached to a rover wheel to improve performance on soft terrain, where traversing and climbing performance for wheeled rover is improved on steep slopes up to 30-degrees by using assistive grousers rather than conventional fixed grousers. Thus, new experiment correlated with the assistive grouser must be developed for further understanding of the sand-grouser interaction. It was observed that the performance of assistive grousers to reduce sinkage and generate forward traction is influenced by the assistive grousers angle of attack, shape and size. Consequently, for this study we developed a single wheel rover testbed to measure the effects of grouser angle of attack on traction force generated. Grouser attack angles that were experimented are 0,10,20,30 and 40-degrees, on a 0-degree slope sand surface. It was observed that during a grouser's movement, there are instances where a forward and backward traction was generated depending on the position of the grouser during wheel rotation. This was hypothesized to be caused by the imbalance in traction generation by the inner and outer side of the grouser, and also due to the variance in traction force generation by multiple grousers moving under the sand surface at the same time with different speed due to geometric constraints of the assistive grouser horizontal movement. It was concluded that for 0-degree slope, a 0-degree angle of attack is the most effective, and there is considerable effect of using multiple grousers and distance from the wheel on grouser traction generation. Results indicate that the shape of the grouser could increase the effectiveness of the grouser for a future study. © 2023 IEEE.

3D object recognition is a challenging task for intelligent and robot systems in industrial and home indoor *** is critical for such systems to recognize and segment the 3D object instances that they encounter on a frequent *** computer vision,graphics,and machine learning fields have all given it a lot of ***,3D segmentation was done with hand-crafted features and designed approaches that didn’t achieve acceptable performance and couldn’t be generalized to large-scale *** learning approaches have lately become the preferred method for 3D segmentation challenges by their great success in 2D computer ***,the task of instance segmentation is currently less *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for efficient 3D instance segmentation using red green blue and depth(RGB-D)data based on deep *** 2D region based convolutional neural networks(Mask R-CNN)deep learning model with point based rending module is adapted to integrate with depth information to recognize and segment 3D instances of *** order to generate 3D point cloud coordinates(x,y,z),segmented 2D pixels(u,v)of recognized object regions in the RGB image are merged into(u,v)points of the depth ***,we conducted an experiment and analysis to compare our proposed method from various points of view and *** experimentation shows the proposed 3D object recognition and instance segmentation are sufficiently beneficial to support object handling in robotic and intelligent systems.

The use of Mg-based materials as solid-state hydrogen storage materials can provide a viable solution to the bottleneck hindering the development of hydrogen ***,it is necessary to address their excessively stable thermodynamic properties and sluggish kinetic *** this study,we prepared a Ni-N-C ternary nanocomposite(designated as Ni@NC)catalyst using Ni-based metal-organic frameworks(Ni-MOFs)as a precursor for catalytic MgH_(2) hydrogen storage *** Ni@NC catalyst exhibited excellent promotion effects on the hydrogen absorption and desorption kinetics and the cycling stability of the Mg-based ***,the composite exhibited room-temperature hydrogen absorption initiation and an onset dehydrogenation temperature of 188℃,with complete hydrogenation achieved after holding at 100℃ for 60 *** undergoing 100 cycles of absorption/dehydrogenation,the capacity retention rate was 99.5%.The differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)test results indicated that the re-hydrogenated MgH_(2)-Ni@NC composites consist of Mg_(2) NiH_(4) and MgH_(2),with corresponding dehydrogenation activation energies of 75.2 and 82.9 kJ mol^(-1) *** mechanism analysis revealed that Ni@NC was uniformly distributed on the MgH_(2) *** dehydrogena-tion/rehydrogenation,Mg_(2) NiH_(4)/Mg_(2) Ni“hydrogen pumping”by Ni and MgH_(2)/Mg occurred in situ,the presence of N-C effectively inhibited the expansion of MgH_(2)/Mg,and the enhanced charge transfer effect was facilitated by N in the Ni@NC composite,synergistically enhancing the kinetic performance and cycling stability of MgH_(2).

This article proposes a new multi-level inverter (MLI) based on flying capacitor inverter (FCI), with focused on high-precision positioning control for a voice coil motor (VCM). Multi-level inverters (MLIs) have the characteristic that increasing the number of output voltage levels reduces the output voltage error. However, as the number of levels increases, the number of circuit elements increases, and the circuit becomes more complex. In addition, the output voltage amplitude for each level is constant in conventional inverters. As a result, such as high-precision positioning control of VCM, designing an appropriate inverter for a reference wave that contains a large amount of low-voltage components increases the number of circuit elements. Therefore, this paper proposes a MLI with two unbalanced dc-input voltages, referred to as unbalanced MLIs (UMLIs) hereinafter. This topology uses two different dc-input voltages, and it is possible to reduce the output voltage level in extremely low-voltage range compared to other voltage levels. Simulation results when the high-precision positioning control of the VCM confirm that the proposed UMLIs improves the control performance compared to the conventional FCIs with equal number of output voltage levels and uniform level widths. © 2025 IEEE.

This research study addresses the importance of honeypots at multiple levels, which includes but not limited to placement in network or group of networks working alongside in an organization. This paper talks about the usage of multiple honeypots working alongside to log useful data for the mitigation of ongoing bot or actual attack this approach helps the organization better understand the threat they are dealing and the techniques which they can use to overcome the gap of the unseen security risks. The comparison will shed better light to the working and attack patterns of the ongoing attacks, gaining more confidence on using the honeypot for better protection. Various control methods have been presented to prevent the occurrence of instability in power systems, among which, it seems that methods based on the special protection system (SPS) are more effective and efficient than other ones. In this article, a SPS using the capabilities of large-scale photovoltaic power plants (LSPVPPs) is presented to prevent frequency increase and instability in power systems. According to the presented algorithm, when frequency increases, the proposed SPS uses the ability of photovoltaic power plants to quickly change their generation powers based on the operating point and frequency changes to prevent frequency instability. To confirm the proposal, LSPVPPs along with their controllers are modeled in the DSL environment of DIgSILENT PowerFactory software. The proposed SPS is implemented and tested on the IEEE 39-bus test system and the results of dynamic simulations show that this SPS prevents frequency instability in different conditions by taking timely measures. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of a sophisticated recommendation system has revolutionized the way consumers interact with online shopping platforms. To keep in pace with the emerging technology, every field needs to be digitalized and made up to date. In this context, the commercial shops and dealers too need to upgrade their traditional shopping methods. The old conventional methods don't always serve the new generation. The transition to online mode of shopping has made it mandatory for retailers and producers to customize according to the customer's requirement and providing various options than what was possible before. The focus in this system is to increase customer engagement, enhance the customer shopping experience, and boost sales by suggesting relevant products based on a user's browsing and purchase history, these products that are most likely to interest and satisfy individual customers. This paper reviews recent developments in recommendation systems in the domain of ecommerce. © 2023 IEEE.
