Earlier generations of mobile technology experienced exponential growth in mobile customers, disruptive ecosystems like Internet of Things applications, and massive channel capacity needed to connect trillions of devices. 5G networks are a vital solution. 5G aims to provide 10 Gbps to a single user, as well as quality of service, increased spectrum efficiency, ultra-reliable communication, extended device battery life, massive machine-type communication (mMTC), and a 1000-fold capacity gain. Due to the heavy traffic volume and high resource consumption of 5G applications like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and wireless body area networks, there are major barriers to channel capacity and potential service disruptions for other users. New strategies are needed to increase spectral efficiency and channel capacity. This paper explores many major new wireless technologies that aim to increase spectral efficiency and channel capacity to meet growing user demands and improve network performance. This paper also examines these technologies' benefits and research challenges. Massive Multi-Input Multi-Output (mMIMO) technology's effectiveness and potential distinguish it for 5G and Beyond 5G (B5G) networks, offering a variety of benefits and characteristics. This article can also assist researchers who are conducting in-depth studies, as well as wireless network operators who aim to streamline the development of 5G and B5G networks. © 2024 IEEE.

A Joint Estimation Method of SOC and SOH for Lithium-ion Battery Considering Cyber-Attacks Based on GA-BP

To improve the estimation accuracy of state of charge(SOC)and state of health(SOH)for lithium-ion batteries,in this paper,a joint estimation method of SOC and SOH at charging cut-off voltage based on genetic algorithm(GA)combined with back propagation(BP)neural network is proposed,the research addresses the issue of data manipulation resulting ***,anomalous data stemming fromcyber-attacks are identified and eliminated using the isolated forest algorithm,followed by data ***,the incremental capacity(IC)curve is derived fromthe restored data using theKalman filtering algorithm,with the peak of the ICcurve(ICP)and its corresponding voltage serving as the health factor(HF).Thirdly,the GA-BP neural network is applied to map the relationship between HF,constant current charging time,and SOH,facilitating the estimation of SOH based on ***,SOC estimation at the charging cut-off voltage is calculated by inputting the SOH estimation value into the trained model to determine the constant current charging time,and by updating the maximum available *** show that the root mean squared error of the joint estimation results does not exceed 1%,which proves that the proposed method can estimate the SOC and SOH accurately and stably even in the presence of false data injection attacks.

Notable tech companies such as Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and a number of game companies have launched bold plans to bring the metaverse to life. It is inevitable that in the years to come, virtual worlds will change significantly as a result of the metaverse ecosystem's ongoing enhancement and the rapid advancement of new technology. Nonetheless, a great deal of work still has to be done before the metaverse can be incorporated into our everyday lives and physical reality. Educational spaces in the world with a student population of about 600 million people are significant energy consumers. Also, 66 percent of schools are among energy consumers in the lower categories of energy consumption management. Meanwhile, the world's student population is expanding while nonrenewable energy sources are running out. Recent investigations highlight schools’ focus on energy efficiency in construction, which is driven by escalating energy expenses and depleting resources. This study presents a model of green schools featuring green roof coverings interconnected with controllable window atriums, leveraging green architecture as a renewable energy solution. It assesses the impact of green roofs coupled with atriums on summer ventilation and winter heat control in cold climate regions, contrasting with conventional school designs. This study aims to improve the thermal performance of schools, reduce heat losses from the roof and walls of schools, and also help improve natural ventilation in classrooms. The research followed a descriptive-analytical approach and employed simulation techniques. The model is simulated using the Carrier HAP, and its analyses are validated by the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED certification. Then, a comparison is made between the thermal loads of the proposed model and the thermal loads of the conventional school model in this climate. The results demonstrate the advantage of using green roofs in improving thermal loads in winter and cooling loads in summer in classroom models with green roofs connected to atriums compared to classrooms with conventional 40 cm thick roofs or 66 cm thick roofs without greenery. Energy savings are achieved by creating schools with green roofs associated with atriums while maintaining students' connection with nature and utilizing this cover as an auxiliary learning space. This research paper aims to provide qualitative and quantitative insights regarding the application of drones and big data techniques in the SCM field through a new scientific method. The proposed method exploits the opportunities of drones for real-time data capturing and big data technologies to enrich decision making in supply chain. The study is pertinent to modern tendencies in supply chain systems and proves the efficiency of the new method through the precise calculations and contrastive analysis. The following are some of the findings that suggest efficiency, cost decrease, and outstanding performance of the supply chain. In order to adapt to the development trend of light-weight and low-cost SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites, products of drive control modules, especially drive control modules of SAR antenna deployment mechanism and solar array, are required to be light-weight and low-cost. At the level of product design, the mechanical structure of light-weight drive control module and low-cost hardware circuit design are given. The design scheme mainly involves the electromechanical integration interface of the drive control module and the drive mechanism, and the protection and reinforcement of the industrial components of the hardware circuit. At the level of product production, firstly, the product is designed according to modularization. Secondly, a series of standard systems from production to test are established. Finally, automatic production lines and automatic testing equipment are used for mass production and testing of products. The above design and production optimization measures reduce the weight and cost of drive control module products. The light-weight and low-cost drive control modules is conducive to carrying more payloads on SAR satellites and networking between satellites. © 2023 IEEE.

We live in a period where machines have become a fundamental piece of our day-to-day existence. These machines that surround us largely depend on human assistance. To operate them, a human would nearly have to be functional. We only lose the capacity to engage with machines when these capabilities are hindered, possibly by a bodily condition or injury. This study picks the Universal Testing Machine as the machine to be operated to help physically challenged people run machinery. East Japan Railway Company is working on strategic upgrades to its facilities and systems in anticipation of reductions of workforce in the future. As for the overhead line system, in order to reduce maintenance, we developed a new copper alloy trolley wire that reduces the amount of wear on the trolley wire and expands the wear tolerance range, and installed it on a trial basis on a section of the Saikyo Line. In the future, we plan to expand the scope of installation and aim to reduce maintenance costs. © 2024 Japan Railway Engineers' Association. All rights reserved.

Detecting airborne dust in standard RGB images presents significant challenges. Nevertheless, the monitoring of airborne dust holds substantial potential benefits for climate protection, environmentally sustainable construction, scientific research, and various other fields. To develop an efficient and robust algorithm for airborne dust monitoring, several hurdles have to be addressed. Airborne dust can be opaque or translucent, exhibit considerable variation in density, and possess indistinct boundaries. Moreover, distinguishing dust from other atmospheric phenomena, such as fog or clouds, can be particularly challenging. To meet the demand for a high-performing and reliable method for monitoring airborne dust, we introduce DustNet++, a neural network designed for dust density estimation. DustNet++ leverages feature maps from multiple resolution scales and semantic levels through window and grid attention mechanisms to maintain a sparse, globally effective receptive field with linear complexity. To validate our approach, we benchmark the performance of DustNet++ against existing methods from the domains of crowd counting and monocular depth estimation using the Meteodata airborne dust dataset and the URDE binary dust segmentation dataset. Our findings demonstrate that DustNet++ surpasses comparative methodologies in terms of regression and localization capabilities. © The Author(s) 2025.
