The combined influence of mining activities and the underlying terrain gradient has caused significant transformations in the landscape patterns of mining cities. The natural topography being altered by mining operations can result in a distinct evolution in the spatial arrangement and ecological dynamics of these cities. Spatial heterogeneities are influenced by factors such as extraction techniques, waste disposal methods, and infrastructure development. The inherent terrain gradient heavily influences the distribution of mining sites and urban expansion patterns. This research underscores the intricate interplay between human-induced activities and natural topographical features in shaping the landscape of mining cities. The development of resilient communities in areas that are evolving due to mining requires a clear understanding of these dynamics for sustainable urban planning, environmental conservation, and community development. © 2023 IEEE.

Globally, biomass usage as a supply of non-depletable resources materials used in the production of energy at their rawest state is an issue. Pyrolysis is a method of thermally treating biomass that as a consequence in the formation of liquid, products, both solid and gaseous. Elevated heating is required to transform the complicated composition of the biomass's underlying structure matrix into usable products. Heating with a microwave oven has the potential to become a competitive option. to more traditional methods of heating. Owing to its ease of operation and rapid heating rate, it has recently been widely employed in pyrolysis. The goals of this research are to found the principles of MW-assisted pyrolysis action and to examine some critical issues characteristics of operation that have an influence on the yield of a product. This procedure appears to be governed by a number of operational factors for instance, microwave power and temperature degree, the addition of microwave absorbers and their concentration, initial relative humidity, primary sweep gas flow rate/time spent in residence. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Large-Signal Stability Analysis of Modular Multilevel Converter Base on Mixed Potential Theory

Modular multilevel converter (MMC) has been widely applied in high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system, while its complex dynamic characteristics pose challenges for the stable operation under large-signal disturbance. In this paper, the large-signal stability of MMC is investigated under the grid voltage and power disturbances based on the mixed potential function (MPF). Firstly, a MMC simplified model based on average value model (AVM) is introduced. Then, the physical mechanism of the large-signal instability phenomenon is revealed for MMC. Based on the simplified model, the large-signal stability of MMC is analyzed by applying MPF. Furthermore, to diminish the conservatism of the MPF, a large-signal stability criterion is defined by introducing the conservative correction factor. The influences of system parameters on the large-signal stability of MMC are presented by the region of asymptotic stability (RAS). Finally, PLECS simulation case studies are carried out to verify the proposed stability criterion under the grid voltage and power disturbances. © 2022 CSEE Journal of Power and Energy systems. The utilization of online learning media at IDE LPKIA is highly recommended by the institution for its lecturers and students to support teaching and learning activities. SDLR is one of the online learning applications implemented at IDE LPKIA. The success of implementing information technology certainly has its measures. One way to measure the level of success in utilizing information technology is by conducting testing on the technology's acceptance by users. One of the models used to measure the level of technology acceptance is by applying the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of technology 2 (UTAUT 2) model. The testing was conducted by distributing questionnaires to students, consisting of 42 statements from the total constructs used. The validity and reliability tests were given to 50 respondents. From the results obtained, all statements were deemed valid and reliable, with the obtained p-values showing Fig.s less than 0.05. The sample used consisted of 205 respondents, for hypothesis testing. The results of the testing stated that effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition, hedonic motivation, habit, and user satisfaction have a significant influence on behavior intention, and likewise, behavior intention has a significant influence on use behavior. As for the moderation variables, gender and experience less than 3 years have a significant effect on the relationship between hedonic motivation, facilitating condition, and behavior intention. On the other hand, experience exceeding 3 years has an effect on the relationship between habit and behavior intention. © 2023 IEEE.

For fuzzy systems to be implemented effectively,the fuzzy membership function(MF)is essential.A fuzzy system(FS)that implements precise input and output MFs is presented to enhance the performance and accuracy of single-input single-output(SISO)FSs and introduce the most applicable input and output MFs protocol to linearize the fuzzy system’s *** a variety of non-linear techniques,a SISO FS is *** results of FS experiments conducted in comparable conditions are then *** simulated results and the results of the experimental setup agree fairly *** findings of the suggested model demonstrate that the relative error is abated to a sufficient range(≤±10%)and that the mean absolute percentage error(MPAE)is reduced by around 66.2%.The proposed strategy to reduceMAPE using an FS improves the system’s performance and control *** using the best input and output MFs protocol,the energy and financial efficiency of every SISO FS can be improved with very little tuning of *** proposed fuzzy system performed far better than other modern days approaches available in the literature.

Industrial Cyber-Physical (ICP) systems are integration of computation and physical processes to help achieve operational excellence. As sensors and actuators compose the openly deployed ICP systems and are often susceptible to interference, it puts forward higher requirements on reliability. Reliable coverage ensures sensors acquiring information and therefore coverage reliability of sensor network is studied from various perspectives. However, most existing reliability evaluation methods ignore the belief degree of coverage which influences the reliability to an extent. To evaluate the coverage reliability from the perspective of belief degree, we firstly define Confident Information Coverage Belief Reliability (CICBR) based on the Confident Information Coverage (CIC) model and D-S evidence theory, which comprehensively considers the coverage rate, interference from the environment, and belief degree of the result. Next, to evaluate the belief degree more reasonably, an Evidence-discount-based basic probability assignment generating method is proposed based on D-S theory to describe the interference in the belief degree. Moreover, a belief evaluation algorithm is proposed to calculate the belief degree of the coverage. Finally, an evidence-Discount-based Confident Information Coverage Belief Reliability Evaluation (D-CICBRE) algorithm is proposed to evaluate CICBR. The simulation result indicates that the proposed method can obtain higher and more reasonable reliability. Therefore, the proposed D-CICBRE algorithm can be used to evaluate the reliability of ICP systems more accurately and reasonably. © 2023 IEEE.

Poultry is a light-sensitive animal and the light environment has an important influence on the growth and development of these *** studies have mainly focused on the effects of the light environment on various physiological indicators of poultry but seldom explored the light demand characteristics of broilers under free *** experiment mainly studied the light demand characteristics of broilers under a yellow LED light environment and the influence of different breeding densities[low-density(2.5 broilers/m^(2)),high-density(7.5 broilers/m^(2))]on the production performance and diet characteristics of *** showed that the production performance indexes of low-density groups are higher than those of high-density *** feed and water consumption in the light area of the two experimental groups were significantly higher than those in the dark area,which means that the broilers showed a great preference for the light ***,as the age of the broilers increased,the food and water consumption of the broilers decreased,indicating that broilers had a lower preference for light in the middle and late stages of *** statistical results for the residence frequency distribution characteristics showed that broiler chickens had different light requirements at different growth stages under the condition of active selection:1)low-density breeding environment:23.8L(light):0.2D(dark)for chicks and 22.3L:1.7D for adult broilers;2)high-density breeding environment:22.6L:1.4D for chicks and 15.0L:9.0D for adult *** study will provide a reference for the optimization and control of light environment in broiler breeding.

The task of multi-speaker diarization involves de-tection of number of speakers and segregate the audio seg-ments corresponding to each speaker. Despite the tremendous advancements in deep learning, the problem of multi-speaker diarization is still far from achieving acceptable performance. In this work, we address the problem by first getting the timestamps employing voice activity detection and sliding window techniques. We further extract the Mel-Spectrograms / Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC). We then train a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network to get the audio embed dings named d-vectors. Subsequently, we employ K-Means and Spectral clustering techniques to segment all the speakers in the given audio file. We evaluate the proposed framework on publically available VoxConverse dataset and report results comparing with similar benchmarks in the existing literature. The proposed model performs better / at par with exisiting techniques despite simpler framework. © 2023 IEEE.

This research focuses on enhancing the spectral efficiency of 5G networks through the utilization of nonlinear stochastic precoding techniques. The proposed approach aims to mitigate the detrimental effects of channel impairments and noise by employing advanced precoding schemes that exploit the statistical properties of the wireless channel. By incorporating nonlinear precoding algorithms and stochastic optimization methods, the system can dynamically adapt to varying channel conditions, resulting in improved data transmission rates and overall spectral efficiency. Through extensive simulations and analysis, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated, showcasing its potential to significantly enhance the performance of 5G networks in real-world scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

Repaired morphology of CO_(2)laser rapid ablation mitigation of fused silica and its influence on downstream light modulation

The threat of cascading damage to downstream components caused by the light modulation intensification of laser repaired morphology on the surface of fused silica optics cannot be ignored in high-power laser *** paper uses the angular spectrum diffraction theory based on the analysis of repaired surface morphology of CO_(2)laser rapid ablation mitigation to study the influence of different repaired morphologies on the downstream 355 nm laser *** show that the arc-shaped laser processing lines on the repaired surface are formed by the residual height superposition of the material after laser scanning of two adjacent layers,and the short-pulse laser can substantially suppress the heat-affected zone of the repaired *** offaxis ring caustic and on-axis hotspot are sequentially generated in the downstream modulated light fields of the conical repaired sites with different diameters.A secondary peak with modulation larger than 3 emerges downstream of the modulation ***,the maximum modulation and the secondary peak increase with the diameter and cone angle of the repaired site,and the position of the secondary peak appears farther away from the rear *** modulations of three repaired sites with cone angles of 15°,20°,and 25°can finally be stabilized below ***,the downstream optics should be installed far away from the positions where the maximum modulation and the secondary peak ***,the maximum value and the secondary peak of the downstream light modulation of double repaired sites are larger than that of the single repaired site,and both rise as the repaired sizes ***,large-scale and large-size repairing of multiple surface damages in the same area should be avoided in the laser repairing of fused silica.
