The recruitment process presents a significant challenge for Human Resource (HR) staff, particularly in their ability to objectively assess candidate competencies and align them with job requirements. While qualitative comparisons between resumes and position requirements may yield candidates who appear suitable, this approach proves ineffective in terms of time and cost. Furthermore, many recruiters lack sufficient knowledge of the positions they are hiring for, making it difficult to justify their selection decisions. This research aims to address this challenge by developing an HR person-job matching application for the recruitment of prospective employees. The study focuses on analyzing and designing applications that can quantitatively measure the competencies of candidates and compare them with job requirements using a person-job matching method. The effectiveness of this approach was evaluated by testing it on a sample of employees from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The study found that out of the 16 employees across three job positions, the person-job matching application achieved an accuracy rate of 75%. This accuracy percentage was determined by comparing the fit value results with the actual conditions of the employees in their respective workplaces. The findings highlight the potential of the HR person-job matching application to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment efforts. © 2023 IEEE.

As hybrid power plants (HPPs), such as photovoltaic (PV) and battery combinations, become increasingly important in power systems with high renewable energy penetration to address PV variability and ensure grid stability. This paper focuses on the urgent need to model the coordination between PV and battery systems in HPPs while accounting for battery degradation. We present a generation scheduling model that explicitly incorporates PV-battery hybridization in the unit commitment problem. Moreover, the cost function of the HPP scheduling problem endogenously considers battery degradation with adjustable weights to strike a balance between minimizing production costs and prolonging battery life, particularly when providing energy arbitrage and ancillary services. Using a realistic island system simulation, we demonstrate that accounting for battery degradation in the scheduling problem can significantly extend battery life with only minor additional production costs. © 2023 IEEE.

The application of textile patch antennas can be realized by integrating high-gain antennas into clothing, offering innovative solutions for wearable technology. For example, patients clothing where it can transmit the data from the heart monitoring wirelessly. This study explores the main aspects of the textile patch antenna using fleece and felt substrates. The electromagnetic simulation of the calculated parameters for the patch antenna, the fabrication method for fleece and felt substrates using conductive copper paint for both the patch and the ground plane or conductive material part, and the measurement process for the fabricated antennas. Measurements were carried out using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) for input impedance and an anechoic chamber for assessing radiation patterns and gain. The results from the electromagnetic simulations and measurements showed good agreement, except for the gain of the felt antenna, which may be attributed to either a faulty felt antenna or measurement error. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Monkeypox is a viral disease found in Central and West Africa, and it presents notable public health challenges due to its clinical similarity to smallpox. Recent outbreaks in over 40 countries have underscored the urgent need for quick and accurate diagnosis, especially in settings with limited resources where traditional diagnostic methods may be inadequate. This study explores the application of deep learning techniques to classify four specific types of monkeypox skin lesions. Transfer learning was employed to evaluate the performance of different models using a dataset of 770 skin lesion images. Various methods, including data augmentation and image preprocessing, were utilized to improve the effectiveness of the models. The results indicate that the custom SqueezeNet model was the most successful, achieving an accuracy of 98.85% and an F1 score of 98.89%. These results surpass previous research benchmarks across four key evaluation measures. Additionally, the model was integrated into a web-based diagnostic tool capable of reliably detecting different forms of monkeypox. This study represents a significant advancement in utilizing artificial intelligence for disease detection, offering a practical approach for early and accurate monkeypox diagnosis. The proposed system has thex potential for seamless integration into clinical practice, aiding healthcare professionals in timely interventions. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate the issues of real-time sensor scheduling and state estimator design within large-scale sensor network systems. Specifically, data redundancy sometimes occurs in large-scale sensor arrays due to the excessive proximity of sensing units in the spatial domain, leading to high similarity in their measurement data. Currently, it is difficult to account for such redundancy in sensor scheduling algorithms found in existing literature, where the optimal subset of sensors is generally selected by optimizing objective functions formulated from certain performance criteria. To tackle this problem, we introduce an event-based sensor scheduling strategy, the triggering condition of which is designed founded on the similarity of sensor data, so as to identify the most informative subset of sensors for state estimation. To evaluate the impact of the sensor scheduling protocol on system observability, we propose a new notion of E(varepsilon)-observability, based on which an observability criterion is derived. In addition, we have designed a set-valued state estimation algorithm, which takes into account the intricate measurement information structure inherent within the sensor selection mechanism. The performance enhancement of the proposed estimator is also investigated. Finally, numerical experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed estimation algorithm and to verify the performance improvement. © 2024 IEEE.

Competition and concurrent engineering (CE) businesses are growing. Faster product creation, quality improvement, manufacturing process adoption, and reduced client demand cost are vital for corporate success. Implement concurrent engineering to make high-quality goods. CE is a parallel, systematic method to design. The chief executive officer (CEO’s) approach impacted how many firms build products. The variable stator vane system is a crucial component in preventing engine surge. In this study, a load is applied to the variable stator vanes to conduct a fatigue test, and relevant parameters are collected. This work presents the concept of a new advanced robotic rover that is to be employed for the environmental assessment in the space environment. It has a complex of sensors to measure and categorise several parameters of the environment, including the oxygen, carbon dioxide, methane, temperature, humidity, pH of the soil and water. The primary purpose is the creation of a sufficient and autonomous tool for the assessment of the possibilities of existence and danger on other planets. The smart system of the rover processes information on the surrounding area and initiates necessary response to the threat seen and informs the mission control. Good communication systems increase the chances of getting information and data to the Earth in real-time thus increase the chances of observing the environment and atmospheric changes. In order to function in the aggressive and unstable environment of space, the rover is equipped with improved features in automation, environment awareness and safe operation, which will benefit the future space missions to make better decisions. © 2024 IEEE.

In the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), data privacy is crucial. This study demonstrates the first In-Memory Encryption (IME) macro utilizing analog Physical Unclonable Function (aPUF) for efficient local differential privacy (LDP). The hardware utilizes a highly parallel 22-nm SRAM 4b/4b/5b (I/W/O) analog in-memory computation (aIMC) macro. Sense amplifier (SA) variation and a time-based confusion (TBC) circuit generate time-varying noise, enhancing dynamic LDP protecting strength to 4.2. Furthermore, the energy efficiency of 5718 TOPS/W underscores significant advancements in robust protection without compromising high energy efficiency, particularly benefiting edge LDP security. © 2024 IEEE.
