The problem of the rational use of energy resources remains constantly relevant and requires the search for new approaches. One of them is power control. In AC circuits, the authors see the most promising method of phase AC power control. Based on it, a power control module was developed. The structural and circuit diagrams of the developed device are presented to implement the proposed solution. The authors produced its experimental prototype and conducted experimental testing at various levels of regulated power. Savings when using the proposed power control module were calculated using the example of energy consumption in various sectors of energy-intensive systems. According to the data obtained, the module allows saving energy consumption without significant discomfort to the energy user. The calculated results allow concluding that the proposed AC power control module is fully operational, and its widespread use will significantly reduce the need for electricity. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper we describe an efficient protocol for oblivious evaluation of a binary alphabet Deterministic Finite Automata (DFA) between the DFA owner (client) and the input text owner (server). The protocol requires only a single round of client-server communication. The number of server-side computations is linear to the text length and does not depend on the size of the DFA, and the number of client-side computations is linear to the multiplication of the number of the DFA states and text length, and it does not depend on the internal structure of the DFA. Our protocol uses white-box based 1-out-of-2 oblivious transfer protocol as a construction block. As a result, we have no public-key operations in our algorithm. Also, we have developed a test program which implements the protocol and this paper includes the results of benchmarks done for different input data. These results demonstrate the efficiency of the construction and confirm the low computational overhead of server side operations.

Today, the Internet of Things has been widely used and is becoming an increasingly vital part in various areas of human activity, which helps to effectively solve various real-life tasks and problems. The infrastructure of the Internet of Things includes a lot of heterogeneous devices with limited capacities, which makes it difficult to control them in order to detect cyberattacks. The increase in the number of attacks on the infrastructure of the Internet of Things indicates the relevance of developing new solutions for detecting attacks on the networks of the Internet of Things. One of the possible approaches to identify attacks is to analyze the physical parameters associated with IoT devices that describe the behavior of devices on the network, such as power consumption. Power analysis allows you to detect power-hungry attacks such as crypto mining and denial-of-service attacks. The paper proposes a new method for cyberattack detection in the infrastructure of the Internet of Things that is based on the analysis of energy consumption. In order to improve the accuracy of detecting cyberattacks, the approach also uses the analysis of the actions of the IoT software. The proposed approach makes it possible to detect attacks such as DoS/DDoS with high efficiency with a level of detection up to 99.95%.

The development of domestically generated food additives based on eco-technologies with specified functional-technological and bioactive qualities is now a significant focus of contemporary study. Pickering emulsions are more stable both physically and chemically, making them a highly promising method of introducing biologically active chemicals into the body. The purpose of this research was to determine if ultrasound could be used to create a bioactive colloidal Pickering emulsion system using flax cellulose or brown algal polysaccharides as a stabilizer. Pickering emulsions stabilized with fucoidan, sodium alginate, or flax cellulose, based on a lipid fraction of sunflower oil and cinnamon oil blend, or a lipid fraction of linseed oil, were applied to the subjects, who were then subjected to ultrasound treatment at 630W/l for 16 min (4 min on, 3 min off) at a controlled temperature of 50 °C. The results obtained demonstrate the effectiveness of using ultrasonic exposure to create bioactive Pickering emulsion colloidal systems. Fucoidan stabilizes pickering emulsion, with the highest AOA values (5.120±0.005 DPPH, %) and a rise in AOA values in linseed oil-based emulsion samples from 30% to 100% in comparison to emulsion samples based on a blend of lipid phases. The viscoelastic characteristics of Pickering emulsions with various oil fractions vary dramatically for the integrated structure-forming components. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. Road accidents have been known to be one of the leading death causes around the world for a long time. Thus, cars and all kinds of road vehicles form a huge source of danger, and they relate to multiple high risks. There are many factors that can contribute to road traffic accidents such as the health condition of the driver if a medical emergency event happened while driving, drowsiness, or mind-wandering. The proposed system can monitor the behavior of the driver while driving as well as his/her health status. Moreover, it analyzes the monitored data, alerts the driver in a timely manner, and assists him/her in adjusting the driving behavior. Different dangerous and risky situations which can be faced during driving can be captured and avoided by using such a system which leads at the end to increase road traffic safety and reduce vehicle collisions. Notifications are developed in cases of drowsiness, loss of focus, or other concerns that may emerge while driving. However, when the driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely is hampered by a health concern, the implemented system is only able at this stage to alarm the driver itself and the surrounding cars as a first level of alarms.

This study leverages the capabilities of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models in forecasting global Monkeypox infections, thereby demonstrating the significant potential of advanced machine learning techniques in epidemiological forecasting. Our LSTM model effectively navigates the challenges posed by non-stationary time-series data, a common issue in epidemiological studies. It successfully captures the underlying patterns in the data, producing reliable forecasts. The model’s performance was evaluated using several metrics, including RMSE, MSE, MAE, and R 2 , all of which pointed to its robust and satisfactory predictive capabilities. Our findings underscore the significant role LSTM models can play in informing the development of timely and effective disease control and prevention strategies. They thereby contribute to enhancing public health responses to emerging infectious diseases such as Monkeypox. However, despite the promising results, the study highlights the ongoing challenge of enhancing the interpretability of LSTM models, an area that warrants further research. As a future direction, efforts should focus on refining LSTM models to bolster their interpretability, ensuring their broader adoption and utility in public health practice.

The authors present their latest research results and developments of a code generator for Matlab/Simulink block diagrams and to download the generated code onto safety related systems such as a safety PLC (programmable logic controller). An example demonstrates the different stages for code generation, evaluation and conversion before such code can be used in process industries. systematic approaches are necessary when such source code is embedded in process units. To the best knowledge of the authors, Matlab/Simulink source code has not been transferred on safety PLC before. Matlab/Simulink is an advanced and matured programming environment, especially for simulations of engineering processes and systems. Hardly no hardware exists, when it comes to download the developed algorithms and to use it in real world applications and so far this approach is the only one for using developed and tested Matlab/Simulink software on an safety related system.

With the increasing number of IoT devices, there is a growing need for bandwidth to support their communication. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of available bandwidth due to preallocated bands for various services. To address this issue, Cognitive Internet of Things (CR-IoT) enables devices to optimize their efficiency and enhance their communication capabilities by intelligently accessing available bandwidth. This is achieved through the use of soft sensing metrics, where devices continuously monitor the RF environment and transmit data opportunistically in overlay mode if a free channel is detected, or in underlay mode if not. In this paper, a soft sensing metric based hybrid transmission framework is proposed for CR-IoT devices to meet the data rate requirement for the smart city applications. The efficacy of this approach is demonstrated through simulation results. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.

Several instances of pneumonia with no clear etiology were recorded in Wuhan,China,on December 31,*** world health organization(WHO)called it COVID-19 that stands for“Coronavirus Disease 2019,”which is the second version of the previously known severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)Coronavirus and identified in short as(SARSCoV-2).There have been regular restrictions to avoid the infection spread in all countries,including Saudi *** prediction of new cases of infections is crucial for authorities to get ready for early handling of the virus ***:Analysis and forecasting of epidemic patterns in new SARSCoV-2 positive patients are presented in this research using metaheuristic optimization and long short-term memory(LSTM).The optimization method employed for optimizing the parameters of LSTM is Al-Biruni Earth Radius(BER)***:To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology,a dataset is collected based on the recorded cases in Saudi Arabia between March 7^(th),2020 and July 13^(th),*** addition,six regression models were included in the conducted experiments to show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed *** achieved results show that the proposed approach could reduce the mean square error(MSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R^(2)by 5.92%,3.66%,and 39.44%,respectively,when compared with the six base *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance of the proposed ***:The achieved results confirm the effectiveness,superiority,and significance of the proposed approach in predicting the infection cases of COVID-19.

A corridor sensitivity analysis was performed at Houston, TX, to help analyze the local placement of ITS technologies to improve the overall performance of current and future EPA emission models. There was a potential difference of > 20% depending on the base bin data, vehicle speed, and vehicle-miles traveled. As a result of these findings, a corridor sensitivity study was developed with real-time ITS data for one section of the I-10 corridor in San Antonio, TX. The impact of temporal aggregation associated with a nonrecurring incident was quantified. MOBILE6 emission rates were developed specifically for the San Antonio area. There was slight difference in vehicle emissions estimation between the two techniques for temporal aggregation between the 5 through 30 min aggregated bins. There was some difference in the emissions estimation between the 1-min and the 45 and 60 min aggregation levels. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the AWMA's 99th Annual Conference and Exhibition (New Orleans, LA 6/20-23/2006).
