This paper deals with finding optimal structures and redundant safety designs with minimal costs for series-Parallel multi state system (MSS) configurations subject to availability constraints using genetic algorithms as optimisation mean, since these biologically inspired evolution concepts showed stability, powerfulness, and effectiveness in solving such complex combinatorial optimisation tasks. The routine has been written in Matlab and the tests have been performed using some test data belonging to already existing models (Levitin, Lisnianski, and Ouzineb).

Nowadays, many major efforts and interests are focused on providing better services for some elders and patients who have to live alone, while they are exposed to different dangers during their daily life activities such as falling. The necessity to reduce the negative consequences of falling, whether related to physical or psychological health or to financial encumbrances, by providing an immediate help and a continuous remote monitoring, drives a corresponding meaning to develop a reasonable safety-related monitoring and detecting system of the human motion with respect to the privacy and the simplicity. In this paper, a conceptual prototype of safety-related platform for monitoring human activities by mean of limited number of acceleration and rotation sensors is presented. Additionally, the proposed approach that adopts the artificial neural networks to overcome the challenges emerged by reducing the number of motion sensors and to compensate the missing data is also introduced. Moreover, the required procedures for collecting training and testing data are also summarized in the last section.

In this paper we propose to think out of the box and discuss an approach for universal mitigation of Negative Bias Temperature Instability (NBTI) induced aging untied from the limitations of its modelling. The cost-effective approach exploits a simple property of a randomized design, i.e., the equalized signal probability and switching activity at gate inputs. The techniques considered for structural design randomization involve both the hardware architecture and embedded software layers. Ultimately, the proposed approach aims at extending the reliable lifetime of nanoelectronic systems.

This paper presents the low level control of an holonomic robot with four omnidirectional wheels. A robust control technique named Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT), based on an uncertain linear model has been selected to design the PID speed controllers for the four-wheeled robot. A piecewise model has been estimated by means of the least squares estimation approach based on experimental results of the robot in closed loop. In particular, the control is designed using this piecewise model. The performances of the proposed approach are analyzed in real time domain.

The purpose of the work is to develop and study methods and algorithms for intelligent classification systems for digital medical images. A method for automatic classification of medical images was developed using neural networks and transparency masks obtained by preliminary image segmentation. This allows you to generate descriptors only for those pixels that are selected by the transparency mask. Also algorithmic and software for classifying medical images has been developed. Experimental testing was carried out on ultrasound images of the pancreas. Differential diagnostics was carried out on control samples. The classes "oncology"and "pancreatitis"were divided. The diagnostic sensitivity by class turned out to be at least 0.8, while the diagnostic specificity is at least 0.85. © 2024 IEEE.

Previously published results on the operation of superregenerative receivers rely on some approximations to obtain analytic results. In this paper we investigate the linear superregenerative receiver in the sinusoidal steady state without any approximations. A frequency-domain formulation allows us to efficiently compute the relevant waveforms in the time and the frequency domains. One of the main results is the ability to efficiently predict the exact envelope and the instantaneous phase and frequency of the generated waveforms. This approach is used to analyze the receiver under various operating conditions. A comparison of the results with those obtained with prior techniques is provided.

In this paper, the performance of turbo coded signals are investigated over a new channel model, denoted as 1/spl plusmn/D/sup n//Partial Response Fading Channels (PRFC) with imperfect phase reference. The combined effects of the 1/spl plusmn/D/sup n//PRFC and nonideal coherent receiver on the phase of the received amplitude and of a noisy carrier reference are considered. The numerical results demonstrate the error performance degradation due to both amplitude fading and phase noise process.

This work researches the possibility of applying the concept of a Q-determinant for the parallelization of calculations in the implementation of algorithms to ensure the security of information in systems of connected vehicles. The increasing complexity of connected vehicle systems increases the computational complexity of algorithms used to identify vulnerable nodes in such systems. This requires finding an effective approach to the parallelization of calculations. As an example, Dijkstra’s algorithm is used to search for vulnerable nodes in a network of connected vehicles. The method of designing effective programs based on a Q-determinant concept is described. The results of an experimental study of the developed programs conducted on the "Tornado SUSU" supercomputer are presented. The research makes it possible to conclude that a Q-determinant concept is an effective approach to parallelizing Dijkstra’s algorithm.

Selecting the most relevant subset of features from a dataset is a vital step in data mining and machine *** feature in a dataset has 2n possible subsets,making it challenging to select the optimum collection of features using typical *** a result,a new metaheuristicsbased feature selection method based on the dipper-throated and grey-wolf optimization(DTO-GW)algorithms has been developed in this *** can result when the selection of features is subject to metaheuristics,which can lead to a wide range of ***,we adopted hybrid optimization in our method of optimizing,which allowed us to better balance exploration and harvesting chores more *** propose utilizing the binary DTO-GW search approach we previously devised for selecting the optimal subset of *** the proposed method,the number of features selected is minimized,while classification accuracy is *** test the proposed method’s performance against eleven other state-of-theart approaches,eight datasets from the UCI repository were used,such as binary grey wolf search(bGWO),binary hybrid grey wolf,and particle swarm optimization(bGWO-PSO),bPSO,binary stochastic fractal search(bSFS),binary whale optimization algorithm(bWOA),binary modified grey wolf optimization(bMGWO),binary multiverse optimization(bMVO),binary bowerbird optimization(bSBO),binary hysteresis optimization(bHy),and binary hysteresis optimization(bHWO).The suggested method is superior 4532 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 and successful in handling the problem of feature selection,according to the results of the experiments.
