An Optimal control-Based Distributed Reinforcement Learning Framework for A Class of Non-Convex Objective Functionals of the Multi-Agent Network

This paper studies a novel distributed optimization problem that aims to minimize the sum of the non-convex objective functionals of the multi-agent network under privacy protection, which means that the local objective of each agent is unknown to others. The above problem involves complexity simultaneously in the time and space aspects. Yet existing works about distributed optimization mainly consider privacy protection in the space aspect where the decision variable is a vector with finite dimensions. In contrast, when the time aspect is considered in this paper, the decision variable is a continuous function concerning time. Hence, the minimization of the overall functional belongs to the calculus of variations. Traditional works usually aim to seek the optimal decision function. Due to privacy protection and non-convexity, the Euler-Lagrange equation of the proposed problem is a complicated partial differential ***, we seek the optimal decision derivative function rather than the decision function. This manner can be regarded as seeking the control input for an optimal control problem, for which we propose a centralized reinforcement learning(RL) framework. In the space aspect, we further present a distributed reinforcement learning framework to deal with the impact of privacy protection. Finally, rigorous theoretical analysis and simulation validate the effectiveness of our framework.

In this study a cascade controller is proposed to maintain the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) system, its comprises from two stage the first one is a conventional Proportional and Derivative (PD) controller and the second one is a Fractional Order PID (FOPID) controller is combined together for regulating the terminal voltage in AVR system, the gains of the proposed controller is tuned used a smart optimization algorithm called Squirrel Search algorithm (SSA) and adopt an Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) for monitoring for monitoring desired response to obtain a stable and robust response, the system response is tested using Matlab 2019 and the transient analysis is used to calculate overshoot, settling time, rise time, and peak time then compared these values selected classical controllers(PID,FOPID) to verify the robust response of the proposed controller. A robustness analysis verified the system response when there is an external disturbances, positive and negative disturbances signals are added, the controller try to face these signals, it takes 0.15 sec in negative disturbance and 0.1 sec in positive disturbance then in both states force the response to return to its desired response. © 2023 IEEE.

The integrated calibration method of micro-nano satellite attitude benchmark is studied. Considering the magnetic effects and residual magnetism caused by the complex magnetic environment of the satellite, an accurate measurement model for magnetometers was adopted. By using the relationship between the measured and theoretical values of the geomagnetic field, the residual magnetism and magnetic sensitivity coefficients in the magnetometer measurement model were calibrated, through the least square method of uncertain parameters of the calibration. After modeling the installation error of the solar sensor, the calibration of the solar sensor is completed, so as to realize the integrated calibration of the attitude benchmark of the micro-nano satellite. Finally, this article conducted ground experiments using telemetry data from an in orbit satellite. The experimental results showed that the proposed method reduced sensor measurement errors, improved sensor benchmark consistency, and improved attitude determination accuracy from around 10 degrees to better than 0.2 degrees, verifying the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

The study examines the multifaceted determinants influencing a project's community utility, including technological refinement, team dynamics, market feasibility, and funding sources. Crowdfunding, a prominent path for finan- cial support in the digital landscape, provides non-repayable backing. However, ensuring its effective utilization is crucial for upholding stakeholders' confidence. We propose the development of metrics to evaluate the readiness of innovative projects for crowdfunding initiatives. These metrics empower backers to facilitate the advancement or scalability of manufacturing processes prior to market entry. Based on the findings, we explore the best approaches to advance creative projects in higher education, particularly those that are started by student groups. This paper aims at applying optimal control principles to investigate optimal vaccination strategies in different phases of a pandemic. Background of the study is that many countries have started their vaccination procedures against the COVID-19 disease in the beginning of 2021, but supply shortages for the vaccines prevented that everyone could be vaccinated immediately. At the beginning of 2022, in contrast, the vaccine supply was ample, but the effectiveness of different existing vaccines to avoid infection by new virus variants was in doubt, as well as the acceptance of booster doses decreased over time. To account for these effects, two formulations of optimization tasks based on different epidemic models are proposed in this paper. The solution of these tasks determines optimal distribution strategies for available vaccines, and optimized vaccination schemes to reduce the need of booster doses for later phase. In order to adapt to the development trend of light-weight and low-cost SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites, products of drive control modules, especially drive control modules of SAR antenna deployment mechanism and solar array, are required to be light-weight and low-cost. At the level of product design, the mechanical structure of light-weight drive control module and low-cost hardware circuit design are given. The design scheme mainly involves the electromechanical integration interface of the drive control module and the drive mechanism, and the protection and reinforcement of the industrial components of the hardware circuit. At the level of product production, firstly, the product is designed according to modularization. Secondly, a series of standard systems from production to test are established. Finally, automatic production lines and automatic testing equipment are used for mass production and testing of products. The above design and production optimization measures reduce the weight and cost of drive control module products. The light-weight and low-cost drive control modules is conducive to carrying more payloads on SAR satellites and networking between satellites. © 2023 IEEE.

An innovative vehicle real-time positioning method was developed to maximize the use of existing visible light camera systems on vehicles, especially in areas without Global Positioning system (GPS) signals or blind spots. This approach eliminates the need for additional positioning devices and leverages the potential of existing vehicle driver assistance systems. As vehicles are equipped with cameras for monitoring the surrounding environment, we optimized the use of these existing resources for an efficient and accurate innovation in vehicle positioning. Firstly, we used cameras in four directions (the front, rear, left, and right) of the vehicle to capture images. By integrating images in four directions and using a transformation algorithm, a complete top-down view was formed with geographic information to enhance positioning accuracy. The integrated top-down view image is useful for obtaining information on surrounding environments and identifying the vehicle's real-time location in parking lots. The developed method serves as a foundation for future applications in automated driving planning and positioning. © 2024 IEEE.
