Electrodeposited CrMnFeCoNi Oxy-carbide film and effect of selective dissolution of Cr on oxygen evolution reaction

High entropy compounds were proven to exhibit excellent catalytic ***,a series of amorphous CrMnFeCoNi Oxy-carbide films were successfully synthesized by one-step *** demonstrated,the film presented superior electrocatalytic activity for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)with an overpotential of 295 mV at a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2).Uniquely,selective dissolution of Chromium(Cr)was observed,which increased the catalytic activity and showed high stability under a large current density of up to 400 mA/cm^(2).Cr dissolution not only increased the surface area but also improved the conductivity due to newly formed metal-metal bonding,promoting electron transfer and improving OER *** revealed by density functional theory(DFT)calculations,Cr-dissolution mediates the bonding of OER intermediates over surface active sites and ultimately reduces OER *** one-step electrodeposition method and the micro-dissolution mechanism provided a potential way to design and prepare high entropy compound electrodes,aiming to achieve efficient water electrolysis.

Browsing History Data Analysis Based on a Modified Latent LSTM Allocation Model Considering Browsing Time and its Application to a Fresh Flower EC Site

In recent years, it has become possible to accumulate a large amount of browsing history data from users on websites and it is desirable to make use of such data for marketing purposes. In particular, customer browsing history collected on EC sites is an important resource for analyzing purchasing behavior because it shows the differences in user preferences and their motivations behind purchasing products. In a previous study, the Latent LSTM Allocation model was proposed for grouping customers’ browsing history data. This is a model that combines the Long Short-Term Memory and the Latent Dirichlet Allocation models, but it does not consider the relationship between browsing behavior and purchase made. In addition, a customer’s browsing time on each page is not taken into consideration, and a page is treated the same regardless of whether a user has spent a long time carefully browsing it, or if they have quickly moved on to the next page. In this study, a new analysis model is proposed that can analyze a user’s willingness to purchase each product based on their relationship between their user’s browsing behavior data including their browsing time and the purchasing behavior, based on the understanding that their browsing time for each page is also an important factor in the customer’s browsing behavior. Specifically, the present paper proposes a new modified Latent LSTM Allocation model that is able to consider not only the information related to a user’s browsing and purchasing behaviors but also the time intervals for their browsing behaviors on individual pages on the target EC site. The proposed model enables to the extraction of groups based on purchasing tendencies considering users’ browsing times for each page. Finally, the proposed model is applied to a case study for an EC site that handles fresh flower products. The obtained findings are then analyzed by applying the proposed model to actual usage history data on the flesh flower EC site. © 2024 Japan

The stay coefficient: a novel quantification of the relationship between stay time and travel time for urban shopping behavior analysis

Shoppers typically want to spend an amount of time at a destination that is proportional to the travel time required to arrive there;thus,the travel time can be considered the cost of their *** is likely to be the case across regions with different urban structures and *** purpose of this study was therefore to analyze the shopping behaviors contained in travel survey data from three metropolitan areas in Japan to identify common patterns and indicators based on travel time and stay time,thereby obtaining an understanding to inform future trade area *** the travel time and stay time associated with shopping behavior were found to be log-normally distributed regardless of metropolitan area,and four shopping behavior patterns common among the metropolitan areas were ***“stay coeffi-cient”was then defined to express the elasticity of stay time according to travel time,and its values were similar according to shopping behavior pattern regardless of metropolitan *** stay coefficient proposed in this study can therefore be applied to identify shopping behavior patterns in any urban area based on the relationship between travel time and stay time,realizing a novel approach to the analysis of and marketing for trade areas when planning the construction or renovation of commercial *** approach can help inform the decisions of urban policy makers,marketing advisors,and commercial facility operators,and should be of interest to researchers and practitioners working with geospatial,shopping,and other human behavioral characteristics.

Gas and biosensors are crucial in the modern healthcare system, enabling non-invasive monitoring and diagnosis of various medical conditions. These sensors are used in various applications, including smart home health monitoring devices and critical care units. Common non-imaging sensor types include gas or VOC sensors, diagnostic ECG sensors, blood glucose sensors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure sensors, body temperature sensors, EEG sensors, accelerometers, and imaging sensors like X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds. Healthcare-related sensors offer numerous advantages, including diagnosing and treating medical conditions, monitoring vital signs, enabling remote patient monitoring, personalized healthcare, and early detection and prevention. However, issues like data accessibility, privacy, comfort, security, and accuracy must be considered when installing sensors in homes. Efficient data sharing and analysis require devices, sensors, and platforms to communicate effectively. Real-time data processing is essential for prompt diagnosis and intervention. Simulation and Experiment of Windage Power Loss of A Shrouded Spiral Bevel Gears under Oil Injection Lubrication

During high-speed rotation, the surface of aeronautic spiral bevel gears will generate significant pressure and viscous forces, which will cause a certain amount of windage power loss and reduce the efficiency of the transmission system. Based on the computational fluid dynamics, this paper analyzes the windage power loss of a single spiral bevel gear and a spiral bevel gear pair under oil injection lubrication. In addition, the shroud is used to suppress gear windage loss, and the clearance size and opening angle of the designed shroud are optimized. Finally, by comparing and analyzing the experimental results, the following conclusions were obtained:(1) For a single gear, the speed is the most important factor affecting windage loss, followed by the hand of spiral, and rotation direction;(2) For gear pairs, under oil injection lubrication, the input speed has the greatest impact on windage power loss, followed by the influence of oil injection port speed, temperature and oil injection port pressure;(3) Installing a shroud is an effective method to reduce windage power loss;(4) In the pure air phase, the smaller the clearance between the shroud and the gear surface, and the smaller the radial direction between the shroud and the shaft, the better the effect of reducing windage;(5) In the two-phase flow of oil and gas, it is necessary to design oil drainage holes on the shroud to ensure the smooth discharge of lubricating oil and improve the drag reduction effect.

Industrial process plants use emergency shutdown valves(ESDVs)as safety barriers to protect against hazardous events,bringing the plant to a safe state when potential danger is *** ESDVs are used extensively in offshore oil and gas processing plants and have been mandated in the design of such systems from national and international standards and *** paper has used actual ESDV operating data from four mid/late life oil and gas production platforms in the North Sea to research operational relationships that are of interest to those responsible for the technical management and operation of *** first of the two relationships is between the closure time(CT)of the ESDV and the time it remains in the open position,prior to the close *** has been hypothesised that the CT of the ESDV is affected by the length of time that it has been open prior to being closed(Time since the last stroke).In addition to the general analysis of the data series,two sub-categories were created to further investigate this possible relationship for CT and these are“above mean”and“below mean”.The correlations(Pearson's based)resulting from this analysis are in the“weak”and“very weak”*** second relationship investigated was the effect of very frequent closures to assess if this improves the *** operational records for six subjects were analysed to find closures that occurred within a 24 h period of each ***,no discriminating trend was apparent where CT was impacted positively or negatively by the frequent closure *** was concluded that the variance of ESDV closure time cannot be influenced by the technical management of the ESDV in terms of scheduling the operation of the ESDV.

Smart agriculture systems leverage the possibilities offered by cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, AI, and remote sensing to revolutionize conventional farming by enhancing resource utilization, production, and crop damage mitigation. Real-time monitoring of soil and crop health, predictive analytics, pest control, and precision irrigation measures are all enabled by these systems. They are able to address major Indian agriculture issues, consequently boosting yield and profitability and promoting environmental sustainability. The largescale deployment of intelligent agriculture systems will change the agriculture landscape in India and will assure long-term food security for an ever-growing population. Challenges include adequate research and future studies in order to better install and achieve smart agricultural systems to protect crops. Intelligent agriculture involves all advanced research, including science and innovations, in national development through space technologies to enhance soil quality, conserve water, and facilitate agriculture information. Space ventures will undergo improved modernization through the introduction of crop sprayers, precision gene editors, epigenetics, big data analytics, IoT, wind and photovoltaic smart energy, AI-enabled robotic applications, and wide-scale desalination technologies. Implementing digital farming systems in developing economies will help their sectors as 85 percent of the global population is set to live in developing countries by 2030. Automation will prove to be necessary since food scarcity is on the rise along with resource wastage. The future sixth-generation(6G) paradigm aims to seamlessly integrate communication and environmental sensing capabilities into a single radio signal, promising improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness through simultaneous data communications and environmental perception. At the core of this evolution, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) and its advanced waveforms emerge as pivotal for integrated sensing and communications(ISAC). This study introduces a concise and unified ISAC waveform design framework based on orthogonal multicarriers. This framework supports versatile applications of OFDM and its derivative waveforms within a generalized ISAC system, marking a significant leap in integrating communication and sensing capabilities. A distinguishing feature of this framework is its adaptability,allowing users to intelligently select modulation strategies based on their specific environmental needs. This adaptability optimizes performance across diverse scenarios. Central to our innovations is the proposal of discrete Fourier transformspread OFDM with index modulation(DFT-S-OFDM-IM). This framework is paired with newly proposed signal processing methods for single-input single-output and multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems. Extensive evaluations highlight DFT-S-OFDM-IM's superiority, including dramatically reduced peak-to-average power ratios(PAPRs), competitive communication performance, and exceptional sensing capabilities, striking an elegant balance between communication capacity and environmental sensing precision.
