This paper presents an advanced system that integrates Google's Speech Recognition API with the Gemini-l.5-flash model to improve audio processing and response generation, particularly in the context of healthcare communication. The system is designed to transcribe audio files of doctor-patient conversations accurately and generate contextually relevant responses using AI. A user-friendly interface, developed with Tkinter, allows seamless uploading and processing of these audio files. The integration of these technologies aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of automated response systems, thereby improving patient-provider communication. The system's capabilities were evaluated using real-world healthcare datasets, demonstrating its potential to streamline the workflow from audio input to meaningful textual output. This work not only showcases the practical application of AI in healthcare but also lays the groundwork for future innovations in automated medical communication systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Analytical framework for liquid hydrogen storage tanks in UAVs: Thermal performance validation and structural integrity assessment

The aviation industry faces increasing pressure to transition to environmentally friendly propulsion systems, with hydrogen emerging as a promising solution for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This study presents a comprehensive analytical framework integrating thermal, structural, fatigue, and impact analyses to evaluate liquid hydrogen storage tanks for UAV applications, addressing the complex challenges in maintaining both thermal performance and structural integrity under demanding operational conditions. Experimental material characterization at cryogenic temperatures was conducted using a 100 kN tensile-fatigue testing system to obtain temperature-dependent properties of SUS316L and Al6061-T6. These properties were incorporated into comprehensive finite element analyses encompassing thermal, structural, fatigue, and drop impact assessments. Thermal analysis validated with experimental testing demonstrated that vapor-cooled shield (VCS) implementation effectively reduced boil-off rate (BOR) by approximately 15 % in small-capacity storage tank. Structural analysis identified critical stress concentration regions under UAV-specific operational loading conditions, demonstrating how this evaluation approach can guide design optimizations to address potential structural vulnerabilities during flight operations. Fatigue analysis confirmed infinite life expectancy exceeding ISO 21029-1 requirements, while drop impact analysis using an ABAQUS user subroutine VUSDFLD - based element deletion approach identified vulnerable components requiring design optimization. This integrated analytical framework establishes new standards for comprehensive safety assessment of liquid hydrogen storage systems in UAV applications, while highlighting the critical balance between thermal isolation requirements and structural integrity demands during flight operations. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

An image can convey a thousand words. This statement emphasizes the importance of illustrating ideas visually rather than writing them down. Although detailed image representation is typically instructive, there are several contexts where simplification of image representations may be more informative. One way to provide an abstract representation of an object is via clip art, which is a simple graphic illustration of an object that can be included in documents or presentations. Clip art representation can be utilized in graphic design for concepts expression and daily life objects illustration. Furthermore, clip art had shown remarkable advantages when compared to real images in terms of editing and manipulation since clip art geometry can be easily edited in addition to the feasibility of storing it in a resolution-independent manner. However, it can be difficult to automatically create clip arts that resemble any object. Here, we propose a novel deep learning model, named ClipArtGAN, that utilizes Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to convert a photo of an object to its corresponding clip art. To our knowledge, this is the first GAN model based on Pix2Pix architecture that is capable of automatically generating clip art for any arbitrary object. Three training datasets were collected to train and compare two GAN models based on Pix2Pix and CycleGAN architectures. Our results demonstrate that the mean accuracy obtained using ClipArtGAN utilizing Pix2Pix outperforms that of CycleGAN by 58% and that of Google Images-based search by 54%. Enhancing connectivity and coverage in wireless sensor networks: a hybrid comprehensive learning-Fick’s algorithm with particle swarm optimization for router node placement

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are essential for collecting and transmitting data in modern applications that rely on data, where effective network connectivity and coverage are crucial. The optimal placement of router nodes within WSNs is a fundamental challenge that significantly impacts network performance and reliability. Researchers have explored various approaches using metaheuristic algorithms to address these challenges and optimize WSN performance. This paper introduces a new hybrid algorithm, CFL-PSO, based on combining an enhanced Fick’s Law algorithm with comprehensive learning and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). CFL-PSO exploits the strengths of these techniques to strike a balance between network connectivity and coverage, ultimately enhancing the overall performance of WSNs. We evaluate the performance of CFL-PSO by benchmarking it against nine established algorithms, including the conventional Fick’s law algorithm (FLA), Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA), Multi-Verse Optimizer (MVO), Salp Swarm Optimization (SSO), War Strategy Optimization (WSO), Harris Hawk Optimization (HHO), African Vultures Optimization Algorithm (AVOA), Capuchin Search Algorithm (CapSA), Tunicate Swarm Algorithm (TSA), and PSO. The algorithm’s performance is extensively evaluated using 23 benchmark functions to assess its effectiveness in handling various optimization scenarios. Additionally, its performance on WSN router node placement is compared against the other methods, demonstrating its competitiveness in achieving optimal solutions. These analyses reveal that CFL-PSO outperforms the other algorithms in terms of network connectivity, client coverage, and convergence speed. To further validate CFL-PSO’s effectiveness, experimental studies were conducted using different numbers of clients, routers, deployment areas, and transmission ranges. CBDC-as-a-problem looks like a mania of interest from central banks and financial institutions all over the world. It may describe CBDC technology and CBDC technology development, the positive aspects of CBDC and its future perspectives as follows: The CBDC is linked to the existing banking systems in the past which was based on the past findings of the blockchain, DLT, etc., that possessed the qualities the previous ones did not have - security, trust, and transparency. Innovation, design and CBDC safety that falls below this paper are discussed in this section below. The paper proceeds to show several paths that central banks are taking to CBDC development given the regulation and changing dynamic of the financial world. However, the studies do not end there;information on the potential of CBDC for financial stability, monetary policy formulation trajectories, transaction privacy, and the role of banks is included. Given that in field of finance the CBDCs are becoming more and more important, this research paper shall ensure to provide consistent background to policymakers, financial institutions and society at large on CBDC and its structural implications. This guarantees that everyone is in the know so it will be possible for them to come up with compliant plans and decisions informed by the knowledge in this changing landscape that simply does not stop evolving. © 2024 IEEE.

Regional and Altitudinal Differences on Road Usage Recovery in Aomori Prefecture Following the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake

We evaluate regional and altitudinal differences in road recovery in Aomori Prefecture following the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake. We divided Aomori Prefecture into six regions, i.e., Shimokita, Kamikita, Sannpachi, Tosei, Chunan, and Seihoku regions. Next, we divided Aomori Prefecture into two areas, namely Low Altitude Area and High Altitude Area. In this context, altitude means the height above sea level. Low Altitude Area is under 50 meters above sea level. And, High Altitude Area is over 50 meters above sea level. The cumulative usable road distance ratio of the main roads both for the Low Altitude Area and for the High Altitude Area had been precisely calculated for each city from telematics data using the open source geographical information software. Defining the cumulative usable distance up to September 30, 2011 as 100%, the percentages of usable road distances were calculated. According to the results of our study, we conclude that the recovery conditions of regional roads in different altitude areas of Aomori Prefecture following the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake differed. Furthermore, we also conclude that the land shape of the regions is closely related to road usage recovery. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). All rights reserved.

American Sign Language (ASL) recognition aims to recognize hand gestures, and it is a crucial solution to communicating between the deaf community and hearing people. However, existing sign language recognition algorithms still have some drawbacks, such as difficulty recognizing hand movements and low recognition accuracy for most sign language recognition. A Modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN) deep residual 101 classifier-based American Sign Language identification system has been developed to address this problem. There are three main parts presents in the method. The first part is pre-processing the images to remove the noise, enhance the contrast of the picture, adjust the contrast level and smoothen the picture using various filters. The second part is the segmentation, and it’s used to partition the image using a modified canny edge detection method by removing all weak edges present in the image. Finally, classification will be done using the Modified CNN deep residual 101 classifiers. By classifying the image, the American Sign Language is accurately identified. This process is conducted through images. The outcome shows that the suggested approach has a 0.97% accuracy and a 0.05% False Positive Rate. Other CNN architectures such as resNet 50 and resNet 18 reached 0.90% and 0.80% accuracy, respectively, which is lower than our proposed method. In addition, the resNet 101 classifier effectively recognizes the difficult hand gestures through the image data. It obtains high recognition accuracy for 36 signs is 0 to 9 numbers and a to z alphabets from American Sign Language. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

The paper introduces a new path-planning robotic system methodology called Collision Avoidance and Routing based on Location Access (CARLA) for use in critical environments such as hospitals and crises where quick action and saving human lives are vital. The main focus of our framework is on accuracy and fast responses, such as delivering tools or items in a specific area while avoiding collisions with other robots and obstacles. CARLA is designed to provide quick responses during emergencies, unlike most existing algorithms that are integrated into site control units or distributed among mobile robots on-site. By being loaded onto a remote server node rather than individual robots, CARLA helps to conserve the robots' capabilities, hardware resources, and power consumption. Additionally, our system utilizes cloud computing and Fog servers technology to improve data transmission times between the cloud and smart devices, especially for applications with strict timing requirements like emergency response. The Fog platform is also leveraged to enhance on-site access to real-time interaction and location-based services by bringing processing power closer to the robots from far-off Cloud servers. CARLA has various applications, such as in factories and warehouses, where mobile robots need to be selected and directed by a central control system remotely. The proposed framework consists of three main modules: Robot Knowledge Module, Robot Selection Module, and Route Reservation Module, which will all be discussed in detail in this paper. The results of simulations using this framework show that the robots have improved flexibility and efficiency in terms of computing paths and successfully fulfiling requests without colliding, compared to traditional methods used in similar scenarios. © The Author(s) 2025.
