Two new modifications of second-order low-frequency discrete-analog filters (DAFs) based on switched capacitors with two electronic keys have been developed and investigated. The first modification contains a resistive signal adder based on a buffer amplifier, in the second modification the signal adder is implemented on a differential difference operational amplifier. The basic formulas for the transmission coefficient at zero frequency and pole frequency, and also a frequency and attenuation of the pole are given. The transmission coefficient of new circuits in the passband does not depend on the capacitances of the frequency-setting capacitors. Computer modeling was performed in the Micro-Cap environment, which confirms the coincidence of the calculated main parameters of the DAF and their time characteristics. The developed DAFs were studied at various input signal frequencies, which differ by several orders of magnitude, including the low, medium and high frequency ranges. It is shown that the graph of the DAF output signal has a 'step' character, which corresponds to the physical processes of signal conversion in filters of the class under consideration. The low parametric sensitivity of presented DAF circuits is achieved by the fact that the pole attenuation and transmission coefficient of such DAFs cease to depend on the parameters of the tuning elements. © 2024 IEEE.

The present paper deals with data-driven event-triggered control of a class of unknown discrete-time interconnected systems(*** systems).To this end,we start by putting forth a novel distributed event-triggering transmission strategy based on periodic sampling,under which a model-based stability criterion for the closed-loop network system is derived,by leveraging a discrete-time looped-functional *** the model-based criterion with a data-driven system representation recently developed in the literature,a purely data-driven stability criterion expressed in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)is ***,the data-driven stability criterion suggests a means for co-designing the event-triggering coefficient matrix and the feedback control gain matrix using only some offline collected state-input ***,numerical results corroborate the efficacy of the proposed distributed data-driven event-triggered network system(ETS)in cutting off data transmissions and the co-design procedure.

Industrial control systems (ICSs) are becoming increasingly interconnected as the rapid convergence of information technology (IT) and operation technology (OT) networks, and meanwhile massive attack surfaces have been exposed. However, traditional intrusion detection systems (IDSs) are difficult to be directly deployed in ICSs due to the hard real-time requirement and rare patching chance. Besides, the design of effective and practical IDSs is hampered by the lack of benchmarking ICS cybersecurity datasets. To bridge the gaps, this paper makes the first attempt by open-sourcing the developed ICS cybersecurity datasets and proposing a decision fusion based real-time IDS. Firstly, we design a customized cybersecurity dataset in a full-hardware and high-fidelity platform, including 7 types of cyber threats tailored for ICSs. The collected dataset includes network traffic, sensor readings, actuator status, and system parameters, providing the state-of-the-art benchmark dataset for ICSs consisting of cross-layer characteristics. Furthermore, we design an online decision fusion-based IDS by strategically integrating 4 widely-used machine learning models. The proposed IDS is deployed on a real-time running ethanol distillation, surpassing the performance of single detection models in terms of precision and F1-score, which substantially enhances intrusion detection accuracy and cybersecurity of ICS. © 2023 IEEE.

Laplacian dynamics on signed digraphs have a richer behavior than those on nonnegative digraphs. In particular, for the so-called 'repelling' signed Laplacians, the marginal stability property (needed to achieve consensus) is not guaranteed a priori and, even when it holds, it does not automatically lead to consensus, as these signed Laplacians may lose rank even in strongly connected digraphs. Furthermore, in the time-varying case, instability can occur even when switching in a family of systems each of which corresponds to a marginally stable signed Laplacian with the correct corank. In this article, we present novel conditions for achieving consensus on signed digraphs based on the property of eventual positivity, a Perron-Frobenius (PF) type of property for signed matrices. The conditions we develop cover both time-invariant and time-varying cases. A particularly simple sufficient condition, valid in both cases, is that the Laplacians are normal matrices. Such condition can be relaxed in several ways. For instance, in the time-invariant case it is enough that the Laplacian has this PF property on the right side, but not on the left side (i.e., on the transpose). For the time-varying case, convergence to consensus can be guaranteed by the existence of a common Lyapunov function for all the signed Laplacians. All conditions can be easily extended to bipartite consensus. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

In this paper, we develop an uncertainty-aware decision-making and motion-planning method for an autonomous ego vehicle in forced merging scenarios, considering the motion uncertainty of surrounding vehicles. The method dynamically captures the uncertainty of surrounding vehicles by online estimation of their acceleration bounds, enabling a reactive but rapid understanding of the uncertainty characteristics of the surrounding vehicles. By leveraging these estimated bounds, a non-conservative forward occupancy of surrounding vehicles is predicted over a horizon, which is incorporated in both the decision-making process and the motion-planning strategy, to enhance the resilience and safety of the planned reference trajectory. The method successfully fulfills the tasks in challenging forced merging scenarios, and the properties are illustrated by comparison with several alternative approaches. © 2024 IEEE.

The development of modern IT technologies and resources, offer in many economic-industrial applications, efficient solutions for planning and managing of specific activities. New research directions in the field of management and optimization of supply-customer (SC) systems are defined and evaluated. The paper proposes a management model based on a causal graph structure, which expresses the connection and interdependence between the two entities involved in the specific activities of the field, the suppliers of goods and services and the consumers of these goods and products. Information related to production and storage capacity, up-to-date requirements for customer needs, delivery planning, production and consumption dynamics are considered. The transport between the actors involved in the system is an important component with weight in the costs of supply-sale activities. This paper considers the problem of structured observer synthesis for linear-time-invariant (LTI) systems. The importance of the problem is demonstrated through two motivational examples: utilizing high-fidelity black-box models as part of observers, and anti-windup gain design. The problem is connected with its control counterpart: static output feedback, and the process is illustrated through the design of an anti-windup gain for a multi-variable PID controller. A numerical example shows how the resulting closed-loop system converges faster than a recent method in the literature, with the added benefit of solving the problem with a non-iterative method, which decreases the computational effort.

Modern societies have an abundance of data yet good system models are rare. Unfortunately, many of the current system identification and machine learning techniques fail to generalize outside of the training set, producing models that violate basic physical laws. This work proposes a novel method for the Sparse Identification of Nonlinear Dynamics with Side Information (SINDy-SI). SINDy-SI is an iterative method that uses Sum-of-Squares (SOS) programming to learn optimally fitted models while guaranteeing that the learned model satisfies side information, such as symmetries and physical laws. Guided by the principle of Occam's razor, that the simplest or most regularized best fitted model is typically the superior choice, during each iteration SINDy-SI prunes the basis functions associated with small coefficients, yielding a sparse dynamical model upon termination. Through several numerical experiments we will show how the combination of side information constraints and sparse polynomial representation cultivates dynamical models that obey known physical laws while displaying impressive generalized performance beyond the training set.

The superior performance of object detectors is often established under the condition that the test samples are in the same distribution as the training data. However, in many practical applications, out-of-distribution (OOD) instances are inevitable and usually lead to uncertainty in the results. In this paper, we propose a novel, intuitive, and scalable probabilistic object detection method for OOD detection. Unlike other uncertainty-modeling methods that either require huge computational costs to infer the weight distributions or rely on model training through synthetic outlier data, our method is able to distinguish between in-distribution (ID) data and OOD data via weight parameter sampling from proposed Gaussian distributions based on pre-trained networks. We demonstrate that our Bayesian object detector can achieve satisfactory OOD identification performance by reducing the FPR95 score by up to 8.19% and increasing the AUROC score by up to 13.94% when trained on BDD100k and VOC datasets as the ID datasets and evaluated on COCO2017 dataset as the OOD dataset. © 2023 International Society of Information Fusion.

The transition towards electric aircraft is particularly challenging due to the relatively low specific energy densities of electrical energy storage systems. If electric aircraft are to be realised, flight paths must be optimised to take advantage of the unique features of electric propulsion systems. In this paper, the problem of determining the optimal flight trajectories for aircraft powered by a combination of a fuel cell stack and lithium-ion battery pack is considered. Particular emphasis is given to the role of the battery pack's temperature and in-flight charging requirements on the results. Solutions that minimise the fuel consumption and the flight time are first considered. For both cases, the optimal solution was observed to discharge the battery during the climb with only minimal in-flight recharging of the battery by the fuel cell. A scenario that requires a fast climb and descent and the battery to be charged upon arrival was identified and shown to lead to an oscillatory profile for optimal in-flight charging. These results demonstrate the potential of solving optimal control problems to generate tailored electric aircraft trajectories.
