With the rapid development of information technologies such as digital twin, extended reality, and blockchain,the hype around "metaverse" is increasing at astronomical speed. However, much attention has been paid to its entertainment and social functions. Considering the openness and interoperability of metaverses, the market of quality inspection promises explosive growth. In this paper, taking advantage of metaverses, we first propose the concept of Automated Quality Inspection(Auto QI), which performs integrated inspection covering the entire manufacturing process, including Quality of Materials, Quality of Manufacturing(Qo M), Quality of Products, Quality of Processes(Qo P), Quality of systems, and Quality of Services(Qo S). Based on the scenarios engineering theory, we discuss how to perform interactions between metaverses and the physical world for virtual design instruction and physical validation feedback. Then we introduce a bottomup inspection device development workflow with productivity tools offered by metaverses, making development more effective and efficient than ever. As the core of quality inspection,we propose Quality Transformers to complete detection task,while federated learning is integrated to regulate data *** summary, we point out the development directions of quality inspection under metaverse tide.

This paper develops a predictive optimisationbased iterative learning control (ILC) strategy for the highperformance formation control problem in networked dynamical systems working repetitively. It avoids the need for exact model information in traditional methods and achieves high performance via a predictive framework incorporating a unique performance index that integrates both immediate and future performance. The proposed framework guarantees geometric convergence of the formation error norm to zero and is capable of handling both heterogeneous and non-minimum phase systems. A distributed implementation of the framework is developed using the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers to guarantee the framework's scalability for largescale networks. Rigorous convergence analysis and numerical examples are provided to confirm its effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

"Artificial lung" is a device that simulates breathing process of occupants in a room. This allows you to safely test, e.g., the impact of HVAC systems on the spread of pathogens. The paper describes the concept of the device, its construction and performed tests. The project was implemented by students of two faculties: automatic control, Electronics and Computer Science, and Energy and Environmental engineering. In 2017 the Russian government approved a programme, Russian Federation Digital Economy, the main goal of which is to create an ecosystem with large scale use of digital format data in all fields of social and economic activity [1]. The electric power industry is being transformed in accordance with the concept, Digital Transformation 2030, developed by Russian Power Grids PLC [2]. Pursuant to this concept, electric substations under construction should be digital. At present, Russia has a number of operating digital substations (DSS) (Medvedevskaya SS, UVAT SS, Desna SS, Tobol SS [3]–[5], while many DSSs are at the design or construction stage. The creation of new substations, and also reconstruction of already operating ones, requires solving the problems of operating conventional electromagnetic current and voltage transformers. Electromagnetic voltage transformers (VT) are energy-inefficient, explosion – and flammability- hazardous equipment (due to their requiring additional charging with low consumption by micro-processing devices), with large weight and dimensions (an NKF-100 type transformer weighing 840 kg).

Many robotic manipulation tasks are constrained due to kinematic limitations placed on the object being manipulated. This increases the complexity of manipulation tasks that operate in high dimensions, leading to increased risk that sampling based planners are unable to find optimal solutions. Whilst trajectory optimisation methods provide guaranteed optimal solutions when implementing constraints, they only provide locally optimal solutions in sequential decision-making and struggle to provide globally optimal paths. These constraints can be incorporated into the probabilistic latent spaces by using demonstrations that satisfy the constraint function. However whenever constraints change or a manipulator must perform different tasks the network must be retrained to accommodate the new constraints. In this paper, we provide an approach that allows the training of a single learned manifold that can be augmented to determine the constraint manifold for the manipulation task. Using this manifold, the geodesic between two points can be computed using policy search to solve the cost function associated with the geodesic curve length ${\mathcal{L}_\gamma }$. We provide comparisons in terms of path length against popular path planning algorithms with different kinematic constraints, demonstrating our method’s ability to find optimal shortest paths on constraint manifolds.

With the global population increasing at a rapid pace, reaching an estimated 9.6 billion by 2050, the demand for food is expected to surge significantly. However, there is significant limitation in crop production as a result of factors such as lack of proper irrigation and pest. To meet this demand, it is essential to modernize the agricultural sector and enhance crop yields. One effective approach to overcoming the current limitations in crop production is adopting pest-repellent and monitoring technology. This paper comprehensively reviews recent advancements and modifications in commercialized and underdeveloped pest-repellent devices and monitoring technologies specifically tailored for the agricultural sector. The study focuses on the integration of pest repellent and crop monitoring in precision agriculture, examining advancements in drone design, the development of multiple sensors, and innovative techniques for farming purposes. Additionally, the report explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning algorithms in remote crop monitoring, aligning with the current trend in agricultural technology. The findings of this study established and contribute to understanding the potential benefits and challenges associated with implementing advanced pestrepellent and monitoring technologies in precision agriculture, paving the way for improved agricultural practices and sustainable food production. © 2024 IEEE.

The problem of confrontation games between multi-agent teams has attracted considerable interest, and the question of how to ensure effective coordination of heterogeneous agents in dynamic and adversarial environments remains a significant challenge. In this paper, we present a decision-making methodology for a confrontation game between two teams, which is based on large language models (LLMs). The game is designed as a competitive Seek-and-Take task comprising three distinct robot types: reconnaissance, grabbing, and blocking robots. The LLMs enhance the robot team’s decision-making efficiency, delivering high-level commands that significantly improve coordination and adversarial performance. The game is initially formalized as a partially observable Markov decision process. Subsequently, a systematic construction of the LLM agents is provided, enabling real-time decisions based on the state information of a heterogeneous robot team (HRT). Detailed prompt design and the "Zero-shot-CoT" procedure are provided, and a cue word iteration method with reflections is proposed as a means of enhancing the decision-making efficiency of the LLMs and generating optimal collaboration strategies. Finally, the efficacy of the methodology is validated through experimentation with multiple LLMs in a multi-robot simulation environment. The results demonstrate that LLMs improve the efficiency and adaptability of decision-making in dynamic environments by serving as a core decision module, generating optimal strategies through real-time analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

The present paper aims at validating a Model Predictive control(MPC),based on the Mixed Logical Dynamical(MLD)model,for Hybrid Dynamic systems(HDSs)that explicitly involve continuous dynamics and discrete *** proposed benchmark system is a three-tank process,which is a typical case study of *** MLD-MPC controller is applied to the level control of the considered tank *** study is initially focused on the MLD approach that allows consideration of the interacting continuous dynamics with discrete events and includes the operating *** feature of MLD modeling is very advantageous when an MPC controller synthesis for the HDSs is *** the MLD model of the system is well-posed,then the MPC law synthesis can be developed based on the Mixed Integer Programming(MIP)optimization *** solving this MIP problem,a Branch and Bound(B&B)algorithm is proposed to determine the optimal control ***,a comparative study is carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid controller for the HDSs compared to the standard MPC *** results show that the MLD-MPC approach outperforms the standardMPCone that doesn’t consider the hybrid aspect of the *** paper also shows a behavioral test of the MLDMPC controller against disturbances deemed as liquid leaks from the *** results are very satisfactory and show that the tracking error is minimal less than 0.1%in nominal conditions and less than 0.6%in the presence of *** results confirm the success of the MLD-MPC approach for the control of the HDSs.

Steady-state analysis of networked epidemic models

Compartmental epidemic models with dynamics that evolve over a graph network have gained considerable importance in recent years but analysis of these models is in general difficult due to their complexity. In this paper, we develop two positive feedback frameworks that are applicable to the study of steady-state values in a wide range of compartmental epidemic models, including both group and networked processes. In the case of a group (resp. networked) model, we show that the convergence limit of the susceptible proportion of the population (resp. the susceptible proportion in at least one of the subgroups) is upper bounded by the reciprocal of the basic reproduction number (BRN) of the model. The BRN, when it is greater than unity, thus demonstrates the level of penetration into a subpopulation by the disease. Both non-strict and strict bounds on the convergence limits are derived and shown to correspond to substantially distinct scenarios in the epidemic processes, one in the presence of the endemic state and another without. Formulae for calculating the limits are provided in the latter case. We apply the developed framework to examining various group and networked epidemic models commonly seen in the literature to verify the validity of our conclusions. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Learning Polynomial Representations of Physical Objects with Application to Certifying Correct Packing Configurations

This paper introduces a novel approach for learning polynomial representations of physical objects. Given a point cloud data set associated with a physical object, we solve a one-class classification problem to bound the data points by a polynomial sublevel set while harnessing Sum-of-Squares (SOS) programming to enforce prior shape knowledge constraints. By representing objects as polynomial sublevel sets we further show it is possible to construct a secondary SOS program to certify whether objects are packed correctly, that is object boundaries do not overlap and are inside some container set. While not employing reinforcement learning (RL) in this work, our proposed secondary SOS program does provide a potential surrogate reward function for RL algorithms, autonomously rewarding agents that propose object rotations and translations that correctly pack objects within a given container set.
