Three new modifications of second-order low-frequency discrete analog filters (DAFs) based on switched capacitors have been developed and studied. A distinctive feature of the DAFs under consideration is the presence of two resistors in the general feedback circuit. This allows, at constant values of the capacitances of the frequency-setting capacitors and a fixed switching frequency of electronic switches, to control the frequency of the DAF pole by changing the resistance ratio of these resistors. The basic equations for the low-pass filter gain at zero frequency, the low-pass filter gain at the pole frequency, as well as formulas for calculating the pole frequency and pole attenuation are given. In the Micro-Cap environment, computer simulation of the proposed modifications of the DAF was performed, which shows that the considered circuit solutions perform the functions of a low-pass filter.

To design active analog, discrete-analog and digital filters a new method is suggested, taking into account the conditions of selective invariance and using the internal models principle of the dynamic systems. For this purpose, the structure of each basic filter ensures the presence of an explicit spectral model of the filtered signal. Such a filter is selectively invariant, and this property depend only on the spectrum-setting parameters and do not depend on other parameters. It is suggest-ed to carry out the design of the combined selective filters by integration of the suggested basic second-order filters, focusing on the log magnitude plot of the latter. This makes possible to minimize the order of the combined both analog and digital filters. The combined selective filters are distinguished by high stability of selective properties and can be used in the systems for measurement, signal processing, data transmission, as well as automatic and automated control of various social, production and special facilities.

Hyperspectral Imaging comprises excessive data consequently leading to significant challenges for data processing, storage and transmission. Compressive Sensing has been used in the field of Hyperspectral Imaging as a technique to compress the large amount of data. This work addresses the recovery of hyperspectral images 2.5× compressed. A comparative study in terms of the accuracy and the performance of the convex FISTA/ADMM in addition to the greedy gOMP/BIHT/CoSaMP recovery algorithms is presented. The results indicate that the algorithms recover successfully the compressed data, yet the gOMP algorithm achieves superior accuracy and faster recovery in comparison to the other algorithms at the expense of high dependence on unknown sparsity level of the data to recover. This paper considers the design of a mathematical model of an electromechanical actuator (EMA) taking into account nonlinear factors such as: frictional forces in the motor;clearance in the intermediate gearbox of rotational motion and the mechanism for converting rotational motion into translational motion, as well as elastic properties of the plant. The synthesis of an adaptive regulator for an electromechanical actuator based on an Exo-model is considered. The efficiency and quality of the adaptive controller are analyzed and compared when changing different widths of the gap in the EMA, as well as the effect of the load on the system. The research results are simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink software environment. © 2022 IEEE.

The paper presents studies on the effectiveness of the use of solar trackers in mobile platforms of solar panels. It has been proven that the use of solar trackers allows more than doubling the zone of maximum energy generation. The development of a small-sized laboratory stand for the study of mechatronic systems for automatic target tracking and positioning based on solar panels and a tracker that ensures the rotation of the platform along the light source, where experimental studies were carried out, is presented. The solar tracker has a mechanical movement system, a servo drive and an electronic position control unit that work out the hit of sunlight on the panel at an angle of 90 0 and thereby maximize energy generation.

The population growth rate has increased, leading to a need for new technologies like unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to expand crop production and growth. UAVs are used in mapping, spraying, planting, crop monitoring, irrigation, and insect pest diagnosis. However, challenges such as maximum effective signal range, fuel limitations, uncovered crop areas, overlapped spraying, and pesticide waste need to be considered. In this context, we propose a multi-agent control method that associates the energy consumption with the total crop coverage. Our proposed method is able to generate the path planning for the UAVs considering a target density function, while the total flying time is decreased. The simulation results show that the proposed method decreases the total energy consumption with a negligible increment in the spray error.

This paper introduces a new variational Gaussian filtering approach for estimating the state of a nonlinear dynamic system. We first assume that the predictive distribution of the state is Gaussian and derive an iterative method for updating the state posterior in the natural parameter space through KullbackLeibler divergence minimization. The obtained update rule is the same as that of the conjugate-computation variational inference technique in Bayesian learning. The derivation here is simpler and more insightful. We then impose a Wishart prior on the inverse of the state prediction covariance to take into account the impact of approximating the state predictive distribution using a Gaussian density on the state posterior estimation. The prediction covariance is identified jointly with the state using variational inference and the established state posterior update rule to achieve the desired Gaussian filtering. Simulation study examines the performance of the proposed filtering framework in target tracking based on bearing and range measurements. © 2024 ISIF.

This paper deals with the automatic detection of Myotonia from a task based on the sudden opening of the hand. Data have been gathered from 44 subjects, divided into 17 controls and 27 myotonic patients, by measuring a 2-point articulation of each finger thanks to a calibrated sensory glove equipped with a Resistive Flex Sensor (RFS). RFS gloves are proven to be reliable in the analysis of motion for myotonic patients, which is a relevant task for the monitoring of the disease and subsequent treatment. With the focus on a healthy VS pathological comparison, customized features were extracted, and several classifications entailing motion data from single fingers, single articulations and aggregations were prepared. The pipeline employed a Correlation-based feature selector followed by a SVM classifier. Results prove that it's possible to detect Myotonia, with aggregated data from four fingers and upper/lower articulations providing the most promising accuracies (91.1%). © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel application of impedance spectroscopy as a means of inspection for stator winding insulation. It proposes, for the first time, a means for health monitoring and failure identification during thermal degradation effects in the insulation systems of stator coils from a concentrated stator winding. By periodical ex-situ inspection of these coils, the thermal ageing data of the insulation are profiled up to the point of failure. The study maps this evolution of thermal degradation patterns via novel interpretation of the impedance frequency responses, using well known techniques such as the Bode and Nyquist plots. This grants further insight into the characteristics shown in the ageing profiles over time and frequency. These new profiles enable the identification of critical points that can act as pre-emptive indicators of coil health and failure inception. This is a key finding as it renders the capability to provide an adequate lifing tool for electrical machine windings and coil assemblies within industrial settings. The insulation system examined in this study is taken from the coils of a concentrated stator winding in a 2MW permanent magnet generator used in an aerospace application. © 2024 IEEE.

This article describes the invention of autonomous cannabis seeding equipment to reduce contamination and planting time. The automated cannabis seeder employs an NI myRIO control board to operate a y-axis stepper motor attached to a ball screw to move along the breadth of each row of 14 seed trays. Soil drilling and burial Drill all holes at the same depth. This promotes seed germination and lowers human-seed germ contamination. These 7 soil drill heads and 7 seeders use 3D printers to design and shape the workpiece. An 800-watt air pump smokes the cannabis seeds. Linear electric motors function in two rows in the z-axis. The buffer reverses the drowning process from row 14 to the first row, starting from the 3rd row and continuing through the final series of steps until 14 rows in the y-axis are complete. The hardware controls all program activities in LabVIEW. We tested the automated cannabis seeding machine 100 times on average, sowing cannabis seeds into 98 seed trays and dropping 93 seeds at 94.80% efficiency in 10.38 minutes. A 16 percent faster machine than human work is available.
