Detecting deepfake content presents a formidable challenge, necessitating advanced methodologies. This paper proposes a holistic strategy employing Facenet-pytorch, MTCNN, and InceptionResnetV1 for robust deepfake detection. Facenet-pytorch serves as the cornerstone for facial feature recognition, while MTCNN efficiently identifies faces in images during preprocessing. InceptionResnetV1 scrutinizes visual details to detect subtle anomalies indicative of manipulation, such as unnatural facial expressions and incongruent lip synchronization. Our approach underscores the importance of maintaining a delicate balance between accurate detection and individual privacy rights. By leveraging these advanced models, we achieve significant strides in differentiating manipulated content from authentic media, contributing to the ethical deployment of deepfake detection technologies. © 2024 IEEE.

The main objective of this project is to create a user-friendly intelligent chatbot for Medical guidance and support. This application has been classified into two different modes based on user preference, those are Online and Offline modes of interaction. In the Online mode of interaction, there is no need for any automation, there will be a real person at the other end answering user queries. Users can even ask for untrained data and will receive instant replies. This application is similar to a normal chat application, but the main disadvantage is that a real person is needed at the other end at all times. In the Offline mode of conversation which is entirely automated the user will be performing an interaction with the chatbot itself. The chatbot must consist of data sets and trained data collection, in this process there is no need for any real person, the chatbot itself will reply instantly based on the trained data. The chatbot will be more accurate when a large number of data is trained. This application is compatible with working in various browsers and varied networks. The Admin of the application plays a significant role. Admin can access all the given functions and is responsible for data training. Data training plays a vital role in this application, the trained data will be used by the chatbot while answering user queries i.e. Offline mode. This chatbot application can be accessed by several users at the same time, where IP address plays the main role. The main function of this application is that user can post their corresponding queries and the application will be providing relevant information based on queries. The Latest Modern chatbots are used in applications where simple interaction is needed, for example, service and marketing technology to provide answers such as products, services, and consultancy. If the customer's queries don't match with the trained data sets, the customer will be escalated to manual interaction i.e. Online mode. © 2024 IE

The worldwide health catastrophe sparked by the COVID-19 epidemic continues, emphasizing the need for novel solutions in prediction, early diagnosis, and treatment. While vaccine development has progressed, the virus’s eradication remains questionable. This research presents a strong machine learning-driven approach to addressing this complicated problem. Rapid viral transmission and the lack of a single cure hamper illness diagnosis and treatment, particularly in highly populated developing countries like Bangladesh. Against this context, machine learning and artificial intelligence have emerged as critical instruments for the improvement of health care and medical research. This research investigates several machine learning algorithms and approaches that show potential for COVID-19 prediction. Among these is an algorithm that assesses individual vulnerability and environmental variables, allowing for self-diagnosis and early intervention, reducing the strain on healthcare institutions and government resources. This study demonstrates how machine learning may improve forecast accuracy and provide proactive treatment in pandemic management. Advanced techniques, such as K-nearest neighbor, Decision Tree, Random Forest, AdaBoost, XGBoost, Stochastic Gradient Descent, Linear SVC, Perceptron, Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machines, Logistic Regression, and Discriminant Analysis, are essential for achieving the best results. Finally, this research emphasizes the need for novel responses to global health challenges. Healthcare systems may improve their forecasting capacities and early intervention techniques by leveraging machine learning. Dynamic Sampling-Based Meta-Learning Using Multilingual Acoustic Data for Under-Resourced Speech Recognition

Under-resourced automatic speech recognition (ASR) has become an active field of research and has experienced significant progress during the past decade. However, the performance of under-resourced ASR trained by existing methods is still far inferior to high-resourced ASR for practical applications. In this paper, speech data from languages that share the most phonemes with the under-resourced language are selected as supplementary resources for meta-training based on the Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) strategy. Besides supplementary language selection, this paper proposes a dynamic sampling method instead of the original random sampling method to select support and query sets for each task in MAML to improve meta-training performance. In this study, Taiwanese is selected as the under-resourced language, and the speech corpus of five languages, including Mandarin, English, Japanese, Cantonese, and Thai, are chosen as supplementary training data for acoustic model training. The proposed dynamic sampling approach uses phonemes, pronunciation, and speech recognition models as the basis to determine the proportion of each supplementary language to select helpful utterances for MAML. For evaluation, with the selected utterances from each supplementary language for meta-training, we obtained a Word Error Rate of 20.24% and a Syllable Error Rate of 8.35% for Taiwanese ASR, which were better than the baseline model (26.18% and 13.99%) using only the Taiwanese corpus and other methods. © 2013 IEEE.

The remarkable miniaturization of Internet of Things (IoT)-based systems and the rise of distributed intelligence are promising research paradigms in the design of smart cities. IoT and distributed intelligence are conjoined. On the one hand, IoT provides a digital connection to everyday physical devices, and on the other hand, distributed intelligence allows these connected devices to work together in a distributed environment to solve complex problems through learning and reasoning. In this article, we investigate and report the recent premier advances in distributed intelligence for IoT-based smart cities. We use bibliometric techniques which provide essential insights into many studies to evaluate the literature including publication year, type, and citation status on distributed intelligence and its variations published between 2013 and 2023. We categorize and classify literature by devising a taxonomy based on essential parameters, technologies, approaches, applications, and implications with respect to distributed intelligence. Moreover, we provide recent ongoing advancements in distributed intelligence and IoT such as sustainability, blockchain, 5G technologies, AI, edge computing expansion and IoT expansion. We also highlight some of the use cases which include traffic management, energy management, waste management, public safety, and healthcare. Cervical cancer, which is ranked fourth among cancers affecting women, is highly treatable when detected early through the pap smear test. Deep Learning (DL) models, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), analyze pap smear images, yet their Black-Box nature raises transparency concerns in medical diagnostics. This paper introduces a solution named EnsembleCAM to enhance interpretability by unifying visual explanations through the combination of diverse Class Activation Maps (CAMs). Using the Herlev Dataset, we employ data pre-processing, data augmentation techniques, develop an XceptionNet based binary classification model with an accuracy of 89% and apply GradCAM, GradCAM++, Score-CAM, Eigen-CAM and LayerCAM on this classifier. Then, the novel EnsembleCAM is constructed taking the median of activation maps from the five individual CAM methods. The analysis of activation maps of each CAM method and EnsembleCAM confirmed that in activation maps of EnsembleCAM, higher activation values were more concentrated around the nucleus which is the most important region in indicating cervical malignancy. The evaluation using pixel flipping performance metric also proved that the EnsembleCAM effectively recognises regions vital to the model's decision-making through its steepest drop in the mean prediction score when the pixels in the region contributing most to the model's decision were flipped. © 2024 IEEE.

It is crucial to predict the outputs of a thickening system,including the underflow concentration(UC)and mud pressure,for optimal control of the *** proliferation of industrial sensors and the availability of thickening-system data make this ***,the unique properties of thickening systems,such as the non-linearities,long-time delays,partially observed data,and continuous time evolution pose challenges on building data-driven predictive *** address the above challenges,we establish an integrated,deep-learning,continuous time network structure that consists of a sequential encoder,a state decoder,and a derivative module to learn the deterministic state space model from thickening *** a case study,we examine our methods with a tailing thickener manufactured by the FLSmidth installed with massive sensors and obtain extensive experimental *** results demonstrate that the proposed continuous-time model with the sequential encoder achieves better prediction performances than the existing discrete-time models and reduces the negative effects from long time delays by extracting features from historical system *** proposed method also demonstrates outstanding performances for both short and long term prediction tasks with the two proposed derivative types.

Skin cancer presents a significant public health concern, necessitating early detection and intervention to mitigate life-threatening consequences. Despite its prevalence, skin cancer is not always given the attention it deserves. In this paper, we propose an automated procedure for distinguishing skin cancers using several neural network algorithms. We used the MobileNet architecture whose accuracy is not very high and this is why we have also used other algorithms such as Sequential CNN (Convolution Neural Network), VGG16, and Xception to improve the accuracy of our model. By comparing these algorithms, we found that the Sequential CNN performed best with an accuracy of 94%. The proposed model utilizes the Sequential CNN algorithm to achieve a high level of accuracy, which is of utmost importance for the early detection of skin cancer. The high accuracy of the proposed model makes it a promising tool for detecting skin cancer early. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Cervical cancer is a significant global health issue, and traditional screening methods like Pap smears are labor-intensive and may miss some cases. Automation is needed, but it faces challenges in terms of interpretability and data availability. To address this, the paper proposes using Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques like GradCAM, GradCAM++, and LRP to improve the transparency and interpretability of a cervical cell classification model, making it a novel contribution to enhancing the trustworthiness of automated cervical cancer detection. Using the Herlev Dataset, we employ data pre-processing, data augmentation techniques and develop a binary classification model, achieving a 91.94% accuracy with VGG16. The qualitative analysis of XAI methods confirmed that the model relied on nucleus and cytoplasm features, key indicators of malignancy. The least mean image entropy of 2.4849 and steep prediction confidence drop with perturbations quantitatively proved Layer-wise Relevance Propagation (LRP) to be the most effective XAI technique for cervical cell classification. © 2024 IEEE.
